Idk who started the reverse-a-move for these puzzle games, but I love them. Makes these kinds of games way less frustrating without removing any of the difficulty, that on top of a solid game is just a great time.
I'm further in the game than you are (at least based on the video), and there's been a few moments that left me genuinely awestruck once I realized how something worked. This game has an impressive amount of logic and thought put into it
The biggest baba is you vibes, especially with that text based level. Hopefully this game provides the absolute trip that baba did with every turn. Games like these don’t come often..
I'm on world 16, and can definitely confirm it's just as much of a trip as baba is you, if not more. It's not nearly as meta, but it trips I'm its own way
I do wish pushing a box out of itself made an infinite line of the same box like you'd intuit would happen from looking at it, rather than arbitrarily stepping in and saying nah actually it just take you to bad room where you can sit and think about what you've done The mechanics of having an infinite identical line of yourself and other boxes in a void would be really interesting mechanically I remember seeing that in the demo & hoping it was just a case of something that was gonna be saved for the full game

It's a text based representation that could for example be used for debug outputs in the command line, but there is no way the game uses sth like this internally
@@doomse150 It certainly can be. Depending on how the level is stored, it very well could be EXACTLY how its stored internally. The simplest way to store a level in a 2D game like this is to use an array. Like this Level1 = { "$$$$$$$", "$ # $ $", "$ $ ", "$b 2 $", "$$$$$ $", } Then you go through your array and for every char in your string, you draw it to your screen with your specific x, y position with its designated graphic. @@MythicTF2 You could use that text based representation for storing levels in a file on disk (even though I would go for a more standardized format like nested json or xml, so that I don't have to write and debug a custom parser), but use certainly wouldn't (or at least shouldn't) use it for storing the game in memory while running the game (because that would e.g. require rewriting the string for every move). Object oriented programming is a thing for a good reason.

This game gives me existential dread. I love it. And better yet because of how convoluted the puzzles are paired with the fact that I'm not the one solving them I'll likely forget their solutions by the time I get around to buying the game.
I finished the video and moved on already but had to come back because I just thought of something I think the reason you can’t push stuff into levels when you’re in space/void, is because you wouldn’t have anything to push that box or level against.
