Anyone who keeps getting the Bug Catcher battle instead of Nidoking, I found another tutorial that solved the problem. After death-warping in front of the Weedle guy, go battle the rival on Route 22 and allow the Pidgey to kill you. Then go back to the patch of grass outside of Viridian Forest and find a level 4 Rattata, use 6 growls on it and then run from battle. Nidoking will now battle you in Viridian Forest!
@@KD-nc1ox Did you open the START menu any time after the initial "get KO'd by a wild encounter in front of the Trainer"? Every time I've opened the menu any point after that, I got Slowbro with 7 exp til next level up.
How the glitch works (to the best of my knowledge): Warping while in front of a Trainer causes the game to freak out. Since you're supposed to be in a battle, but are no longer there (this can be achieved by fainting to a wild Pokemon, or using a frame-perfrct input to open the menu and Fly) The game will then use the Special stat of the last Pokemon battled to determine what the "special" encounter will be. The Attack modifier is then used to determine that Pokemon's Level. Its always 7+Attack modifier. Since we used Growl 6 times, it becomes 7+(-6)=1. The game cannot process negative numbers, and Level 1 Pokemon technically have negative Exp. So by getting a low amount of experience, not enough to actually level up, the experience underflow glitch takes place. The game assumes that because your xp negative, you instead have a huge amount, thus boosting you to Level 100 instantly.
This glitch worked! U can save right before you encounter nidoking so you don't have to rerun into the trainer again too! U just gotta recounter the level 3 pidgey before attempting another go. Plus it's best to hit the level 1 nidoking with a move cause the pokeball tends to miss nidoking alot when you don't attack him.
I seem to be able to get the glitched pokemon, but I can't seem to get the experience to go to lvl 100 with any of them. Feedback would be helpfully please.
your giving it to much exp, that’s what happened to me. it has to earn less exp than it takes to level up what i did was find a level pokémon switch in all my pokémon ,party of 6, and it worked fine. hope this helps

OMFG thank u so much I tried to use that trick to get a lapras with the new glitch (doesn't really matter) and forgot u need to die in a wild pkmn battle i was already furious when i counted the step so i die as soon as i walk into line of sight and dont trigger the battle before fainting ok then i know what i have to do ps: in case anyone dont get what i mean with the new glitch u can like most of u know perhaps get also other pkmn just under the slowpoke guy to get one mew us a brass rewarding u with a lapras when doing the glitch on her
Your guide is the best guide communicating how to do this, you don't rush the video or speech instructions of your video well done. Please do more regarding the level 1 Ivysaur, as well as other pokemon like Lapras around the Nugget Bridge area using this same type of glitch (but maybe with escape rope or something). Thanks. It may have happened while naturally playing, you just need to die in front of that trainer due to a pokemon battle and something strange will happen, then you experiment

Hey, whenever I enter Veridian Forest I always get the bug catcher battling me, any help would be appreciated.
There is a little patch of grass before viridian, if you train up there you should be able to beat them

Poke balls will miss gengar, need to have butter free with sleep powder first or stune spore

If you battle Blue by Victory Road and he has a Squirtle it will produce a Gengar.

I used this trick to get a level 1 slowbro but when I got it only 20 xp it just got to level 2 why did this happen

your giving it to much exp, that’s what happened to me. it has to earn less exp than it takes to level up what i did was find a level pokémon switch in all my pokémon ,party of 6, and it worked fine.

Sure but there are TMs to fix that problem. And even with just that starting move, it's enough to take on most pokemon you'll face in the game.
