Anime watchers need to learn how to differentiate between what’s nostalgic and what’s actually good writing.
You can acknowledge a show is your personal favorite while still acknowledge that it probably didn’t have as good storytelling and writing as you remembered.

They sold the shit out of FLCL and Samurai Champloo. How can Cowboy Bebop be an easy S but Champloo isn't S rank as well? It almost literally like saying Jazz is better than Hip Hop because one precedes the other. If you asked them to rank Jazz vs Hip Hop, you know they'd pick the hell out of Hip-Hop songs over the Jazz ones again and again, so their reasoning doesn't hold up. The shows are even by the same creator...
But they aren’t simply ranking them off the music. Bebop edges out Champloo for me but it definitely is S tier too

@@Echo-nn8dt I know it's not solely ranked off the music, but the cinematography, the feel and vibes of the respective shows, the themes and fight choreography that flows with the music, etc, is all approached from similar angles by the same guy. It's just different genres of music and eras of fighting and fashion styles. They are both in my top 10 for anime, but they didn't give reasoning for the discrepancy in ranking, so it's easy to assume that Bebop outscores it due to it being one of the few shows that even anime haters give props to. A good comparison would be them putting One Punch Man (season 1) in S rank but giving Mob Pyscho an A or B

Crazy how people say Bleach got most bullshit because people really like to dump on Bleach for some reason and then turn a blind eye for every other show. Also crazy how that way thinking still has its trend in 2022-3. It has way less bullshit then its counterparts imo. Especially when I re-watched it all when I was a bit older. And we all know about the ending in manga and why it was rushed and I hope a lot of the stuff gets fleshed out in the anime
Nah they got a point though especially the fucking arrancar arc, you'd be in the middle of one of the most hype fights and then the next episode is a fucking filler about dreams or some shit

@@philipcarey3213 I watched it when streaming services weren't a thing man. Still doesn't make it any better because the substance we did get felt like filler anyways, Kubo also doesn't really do much with the human characters so why even introduce them? It sucks because Chad was one of my favorite characters so seeing him just get shafted sucks, Fullbringer arc had alot of potential but it just turns into a gateway for Ichigo to get his powers back. I'm not saying bleach is ass(it has one of the coolest power systems in anime with the zanpakto) I'm just saying there's alot of turnoffs in the anime atleast

Dude Naruto, DB and other series have HELLA shafted characters that should've been way more important... @@KvngLeroy1 And for Fullbring that shows your thinking level as well. That Arc was to show us Ichigo's human side and what he strives to do. When he first started off he only wanted to protect those close and dear to him... But after losing his powers he felt hopeless and like he couldn't protect anyone, he felt a new purpose for those powers he lost... That there was his heroism awakening. We explore his emotional well being and what he loves as both a human and Shinigami. This was HIS character development Arc for both sides of him that people says he "lacks" 💀 open y'all eyes and you'll see he's been on one 😤.

Dawg Kenpachi is my favorite demon/beast in anime(literally... Ifykyk I can't WAIT for the Hell Arc 👀). He's one of the reasons I LOVE Bleach.

@@karma2130 Lmao. It's cause I'm a fan of snipers and he is probably the best sniper in any franchise. He doesn't need a scope. He has a lot of history behind him and a lot of connections as well if you see the details on RUclips. Oda is purposely hiding the power of Shanks in his crew. They are extremely op. There was also a manga page that couldn't make it in that Garp told Usopp that his father was one of the most feared men in the new world and they called him "Chaser".

Honestly, Naruto status is also hugely influenced by nostalgia. I didn't watch until I was in college so it was a good bit into the great ninja war. I cannot imagine watching it as it was released. The number of filler in Naruto is absolutely insane. Of the last 100 episodes of Shippuden like 50 of them are filler. Literally 60%+ of the show doesn't matter. And even the non-filler episodes have a ridiculous amount of flashback.
It's called filler for a reason, you could have easily used the fillers guide to skip them. Naruto is an easy S+ if not god tier.

Yea I didn’t grow up on it either (didn’t kno anyone who watched). Almost done with Shippuden. Even after skipping filler, it’s definitely good…but I’m not callin it the best. Gotta finish tho.
Naruto is easily one of the best anime of all time. It’s no surprise it gets talked about still 2 decades later, and how many die hard fans it has. Just realize not every show is for everyone

How can DBZ be an S and Samurai Champloo isn’t?
I was NEVER bored watching Samurai Champloo but I fell asleep to Goku,Vegeta,Gohan and everyone else screaming for an entire episode before someone died and got brought back via dragonballs.
I actually thought Mugen and Jin were gonna die at the end…THATS STORYTELLING WITH STAKES!
I believe both are a S but what you thought what makes “storytelling with stakes ” goes for a lot of anime

It's very subjective, especially given the anime at S and A tier that one could say that did the same, if not better than samurai Champloo, you thinking Jin and mugen were gonna die might not apply the same to the next person pretty much saying I 100 percent agree with you but the last reason you made wasn't a strong argument for it to be S especially since people that watch dragon ball first than Z after Krillen death was pretty impactful but I get what you meant

@@SupremeKi lmao it is more story based on the first 2 parts since it’s the start of the bloodline and dio but part 3 starts to introduce all the extra powers (Stan’s) pretty much. Part 2 is actually really good too in terms of action. I say thug it out but once you get to part 2 you’ll see see more of why people like it.

JoJo has the best battle scenes, other anime just scale up over time but JoJo is actually smart about how fights play out, you never know how its going to play out either there isn't plot armor for anyone. You just gotta get over the style

Sailor moon and inuyasha are both A- to me simply because of the impact they made on the community. Sailor moon almost single handed brought girls into the anime community.
Facts! Sailor moon launched a whole genre into the mainstream. Every damn magical girl anime is influenced by sailor moon in some way, shape, or form. Easily one of the most influential animes of all time, Inuyasha is a tier below that.

The only decent season was sailor moon r back during the day, all the rest of the show was repetitive and power rangers-like

Season 1 was the perfect ending, even if it ended at R I wouldn’t mind but the show kept on adding characters and became too complicated. Ofc the outer senshi are super popular and def add to the show but let’s be real, most people are nostalgic for the early Sailor Moon lol, ik I am 😂
