  • Robotically assisted mitral valve surgery is a type of minimally invasive, closed chest heart surgery performed on the mitral valve by a cardiac surgeon. The surgeon uses a lighted and flexible instrument (endoscope) to examine the body on the inside with the assistance of a robot.

I am 45 years old, I am going to have this type of heart surgery soon, the diagnosis is regurgitation of the mitral valve.
this video explained a lot to me and helped me understand, I can't say I'm not afraid of surgery, only a fool isn't afraid, I just accepted it the way it is and I have to do it to improve my quality of life. I expect nothing, and I hope for the best.

Good luck my friend. You’ll be ok. Please let us know when the surgery is over.

I’m 44. Same diagnosis except I’m getting mitral valve replacement instead of repair. Good luck to us all! 🤞

sorry, you didn't write where you were from.
      I am from Croatia, Europe.
I was recommended the Magdalena Clinic in Krapina.
after two visits to the cardiologist and all the necessary examinations at the clinic, they informed me that they have an external associate, a cardiologist who comes and performs surgical procedures of this type, who is ready to perform the necessary procedure as best he can.
      best regards

Remember that they give you pretty potent stuff to send you to sleep for several hours. I don't actually remember waking up in ICU, but the amount of tubes and cables attached is mind boggling! I was in ICU for 6 days until my heart rhythm was up to speed.

Hi it was such a useful information, I m 42 years old and I had dubble chamber on right ventricle which creat narrowness to blood goes to lungs also minor aortic valve leakage, and my open heart surgery is due soon. My question is, is it possible these problems can be fixed without open heart surgery, I mean with keyhole surgery or any other procedure thanks

That is why people do not usually use these kinds of methods to oxygenate the blood, there is a risk that that will happen.
