Speedy recovery Nancy! 🙂
Hi Nancy, get well soon!
Hi Nancy, Wishing you a speedy recovery! Happy to hear you are doing ok and able to knit a little! You need to rest! Thanks for tips on using Raverly, Google and taking measurements! Take care!
Thank you so much!
Dear Nancy, I hope you are feeling better and I wish you a fast recovery. I enjoy all of the knowledge you impart on all or your videos. It takes time to recover so don't rush it! Thank you so much for everything you do. I always look forward to seeing you.
Thank you!
Hope you’ll be getting better soon so that you can get back to your knitting
An addition measurement that is helpful is, bust front from underarm to underarm, bust back from the same place. this should add up to full bust measurement. But it makes a difference if you are knitting a garment with set in sleeves.
Good suggestion, thank you.
Hi Nancy- my name is also Nancy and I had total reversal shoulder replacement 5/17. I began PT and knitting after two weeks and PT is really difficult and painful but the knitting has restored my sanity. I’ve had my sling 7 weeks because of infection😢 so I’m hoping to lose it on Wednesday after seeing the Doctor. Hang in there-
You are not alone!
Oh dear, don't love hearing that. I hope you are healing and continue to improve. Knitting (and driving!) again now, so things coming along. Thanks for your response.
I hope you continue to heal. You are a brave soul, but if the surgery really makes it better cheers on you. My husband needs a shoulder replacement. I have not made up my mind its the best option but its not my body. He had both knees done as partial replacements and he did them three weeks apart and is doing great. He’s ready to do his shoulder now. I wonder if you wouldn’t mind letting me know if you’d do it over again or not? Thanks so much. Be well.
😊 Trudy
Yes, absolutely. Getting better every day. But really depends on how intolerable it is before. Mine wasn't functional.
Good luck with the decision.
Sending best wishes and hoping your pain decreases quickly. Good to see you x
I live in Australia and found on the net Junction Fibre Mill, White River Junction, Vermont. They have a regular podcast. And make the most amazing dyed and natural coloured yarn from local sheep. Agree with your recommendations. I can't understand why people are so fearful of Ravelry and using it. Its such a great tool. It has expanded knowledge and opened up the whole world to see what new styles, creations exist. Nancy rest up and dont overdo things. Im bad for not documenting my body measurements. Trying to pin down hubby to help measure where I thought he would willingly be "handy"😉
I'm glad you are finding tips useful from Down Under, and thank you for the podcast suggestion. I hope you are having a good "winter"!
Thanks for watching.
Hope ur feeling better real fast. Take care & be careful. TU for another informative podcast❤❤
Hi Nancy i have missed watching you on youtube, and sorry you have had to go through pain, we are lucky we can have things fixed arn’t we, and i hope it won’t be long before your feeling better, and not in discomfort, as an other comment said, don’t rush ,take your time, your body needs to heal from the inside as well. Warm wishes to you ,pamela hall
Thank you!
Quick recovery. I really enjoy watching your podcasts. I had both shoulders operated , personal experience, don’t rush. By the way you look great . I need to visit your shop . 💐
Getting better all the time. Please visit!
You look amazing despite surgery that I’ve heard is a bear. Good luck with your continued recovery! Re Ravelry - another great aspect - most knitting books one purchases will give you a code to put the patterns in your Ravelry library. As I use Knit Companion this is great. Also when there are updates to any pattern purchased you’ll be notified. I’m always suspicious of free patterns unless it’s an established designer - to add to your advice re designs with no projects.
Yes, exactly. Thanks for that. Learning Knit Companion and finding it a huge help.
Do you have a link to the document you shared at minute 12 on Taking Measurements? I’ve never thought to do that and keep them in one place, such a time saver and great idea! Love your videos and glad to hear you are on the mend, Nancy.
There are many sources online. The one I found was ysolda.com/blogs/journal/choosing-a-size
But there are others as well as many RUclips videos.
Have fun.
Hi, Nancy. Just found your site. A multi-color sweater/cable sweater was held up by Robin. What's the name of the pattern? Beautiful.
Will look that up and get back to you, thanks.
It's the Frida sweater on Ravelry. We knit it in Akari yarn (Noro yarns).
I love the pairing of the Issuer 2 in Wine and the Spin Cycle (can't remember the name of the colorway) however I would really like to use it foe the Drawing Sweater, as a substitute for the Natura Ulyse. Would that work?
The Isager Alpaca 2 may be too thin (it's a fingering weight). Always get gauge of course!
