    I’m 63, lived in Washington my whole life. Grew up in Seattle in the 70’s and 80’s. At that time, we had Ted Bundy, Gary Ridgeway, Robert Lee Yates, Westley Allen Dodd and the Hillside strangler Kenneth Bianchi from New York made his way to Bellingham. But we had no idea these monsters were in our backyard. We didn’t have social media just the nighttime news. My heart goes out to all the families affected by these monsters. Great special King 5, been a viewer for 50 plus years.

      Thank you for putting this out to the public. I pray that this special jogs some one’s mind and you get calls and can solve many of these crimes that continue to leave families without answers. Karen Bodines case seems to easy to not have been solved considering the police had made contact with her at 3am the same day she was found dead, beaten to death. There’s not a chance any one would believe that there’s not DNA evidence on her clothing, vagina, and body that can now be tested to determine who she was last with. Too many cases have been solved that have been open and cold for decades by rerunning DNA through many different sources & even exhuming her body, the DNA is still there & can be ran.

      I'd like to see the case of Denise Simon covered. She was a childhood friend who was later murdered in Kent Wa in 1997 I believe. Detective Melanie Robinson with the Kent Police Department was last detective on the case. I would like to see the DNA in her case be run using Genealogy Matching. There a few Fox News Reports on the case. If all it takes is a few thousand dollars to run the DNA with the new method. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to raise those funds. She was a mother of young children at the time of her murder who went out to have drinks with friends.

      The only way I could see it happening is if she strangled herself with the shoelaces while she was standing in the water. Again that doesn't explain how the jacket was zipped up though. I know a little more about her case and the fact that her kids were taken away from her, and I don't think she was getting married anymore could have led her to suicide. I'm 50/50 on that case

    I feel for Kathy Dawsons mother! I hate how the media dehumanizes people, "she was a human being", she was a life loving person, a young mother doing what she could to provide for her child, she was a daughter, a "wonderful sister", a friend! RIP to all those unfairly and cruelly taken too soon.

    I'm glad to see cases covered around my home state. There is soo much vast wild wilderness here that I can't help but think of how easy it could be for things to disappear in the dense Forest's here. We have so much dense brush, ferns, moss, trees, black berries, plants that grow like crazy that it seems so easy for things to vanish here. I walk my dogs in the woods all the time and observe nature's habits here and it's crazy how well the forest can hide things. The trees drop so much fur needles, pine needles, leafs, branches, moss, grass,weeds, pinecones, fungus, lichen, logs. It's unreal how active and fast the forest makes things hard to find especially if it's off of a trail. You'd be surprised how little people explore off trails. Most stick to easy paths. Just makes me wonder how many unsolved cases occur around these woods. We have huge areas of hardly explored, ever changing wilderness.

      I pack out whatever I pack in and leave only footprints.

    • @dudemorris7769
      @dudemorris7769 6 месяцев назад

      Agreed. A lot of times just a fresh set of eyes getting the file and then reading through it completely. Most cases they have suspects yet not any or enough evidence that can prosecute the perpetrator(s). There’s so many DNA sites available now that can do more than even the FBI can, & should be utilized in each of these cases & now.

    • @Ddub1083
      @Ddub1083 6 месяцев назад

      you do realize that police only have DNA records for like 8% of the US population. So even if they tested the DNA, unless the suspect DNA matches one of those 8%, there wouldnt be any DNA matches. (Actually its far less than 8% of the current population, the FBI has like 21 million DNA profiles total... many of those DNA profiles though are for people who have died)

    My heart goes out to Wiki’s family. I took Home Ec with Wiki in high school and remember her well. I also worked with her younger sister briefly at the mall. Wiki was very kind, I’ve never forgotten her. It’s shocking to learn that the boyfriend failed a polygraph test. I would hope that the investigators dig a lot deeper into that situation. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Much love and prayers to the family.

    I wish we could solve the case of Laura Law- born in Finland and murdered in Aberdeen WA in 1940. There was a song written about her. I lived across the street from her boarded up house as a kid, two blocks from where Kurt Cobain grew up. I used to tell my sisters the house was haunted, never knowing at the time it was the site of Aberdeen’s oldest unsolved murder. She was bludgeoned with an axe and her skull was caved in while her small son was asleep down the hall and her husband and parents were at some political rally. Her mother found her. She was only 26 or so.

    Clearly Autumn Stone’s ex fiancé has motive.
    From a Kiro 7 report:
    She’d just given birth to her second son and had just broken up with her fiancé, who she suspected of hurting their child.
    Autumn’s friend, Kymberly Adams, was one of the last people to speak to her that day.
    “She told me that she was going to get answers as to what happened to the baby that day. And when she said that day to me, she stressed today,” recounted Adams.

    Regarding the "serial killer" case involving the girl named Sara... Has anyone considered it could possibly be related to the Canal Murders in Phoenix, AZ a few years back? If memory serves, the killer was a guy who called himself the "Zombie Hunter". Killings took place in the early 1990's. The stabbing MO's in the KING 5 report here seem similar and the perp has/had ties to the Everett, WA area. That said, the composite drawing shown doesn't look like a match but it might be worth it for someone to check out the timelines for when the guy was living in Everett.

      @@tomtroy3792 that is also likely but still. There's been endless of cases where the killer has even been pallbearers, have attended the victims.fumeral, visited with the grieving families and so on and such. Let's say you catch footage of someone leaving flowers or something at the victims memorial and crying... Then the man or women gets recognized and gets brought in for an interview but the person of interest adamantly denies that they've ever heard of the victims name. Well, that could be of value in the investigation.

    The strangest thing about the bombing case is that the battery charger the bomb was in belonged to the victim William Walker. Seems someone would have to know him to plant a bomb in something that belonged to him. Almost seems like the second bombing was a decoy to throw the police off when the target was really the first victim. The cops seem to think it was the other way around though.

    I Love your coverage, I am from Seattle, born in 1971. The bomb case, sounds like kids, or one kid meaning 12-18 year old, who's father had that stuff in his garage or tool shed. I think it was a prank gone wrong and the kid did not understand the gravity of the prank. I would look back and see which children/teens were in trouble back then in the community. I would actually go back and look up some Science teachers at the local junior high and high school and see if any of the kids they can recall in science class were into making bombs or showed interest in such. The August 30'th case I remember well as it's my B-day, I am certain the baby daddy did this or if he was seeing someone on the side a woman did it. What makes no sense is, if you were going to kill yourself, why would you or how would you tie your laces so tight to do that? I've not tried but??? The boyfriend is clearly the perp in the Wiki case this was just covered about 4 weeks ago on the vanished podcast. That boyfriend, had silly sick stories to tell. The boyfriend needs to be arrested! Or taken out to sea by one of the cops who care.

The only gun in the house was up on top of a very tall armoire, she could NOT have reached it and certainly could NOT have got it down or shot herself in that particular angle. There was a message on her phone from somebody we didn’t know that said something like “sleep tight beautiful”. The police grabbed on to the suicide myth and didn’t investigate further. I’m so sorry this happen to you girls, you made a comment that someone a “stranger “planted flowers, if you could have a camera on the site maybe the killer has visited or visits ,maybe feeling guilty or other reasons, just a thought maybe on the anniversary of her death …just an idea

    It's very unfortunate but a polygraph test does not prove or disprove anything I don't think they're even admissible in court and should not be.

    In a body bag??? What a horrendous way to inform a father about his daughter’s death. How insensitive! I hope that cop faced some form of disciplinary action.

    If any of theses cases have a DNA profile you can send it to a genealogist and even if it’s the smallest amount sometimes they can locate somebody related to the perpetrator and often find them by there retaliations

    ATTENTION KING 5 Seattle UNSOLVED NORTHWEST, 2023 special.
    To the two young women who had their mother murdered and dumped by the road, be extremely suspicious of anyone leaving anything at that site, especially around the anniversary of her death. I respectfully suggest you place a camouflaged game camera in the tree facing the road so it captures both the vehicles and the faces of any who may stop there and show the footage of anyone seen at that site to the detectives working the case.
    NB, do not assume that someone leaving flowers was a good samaritan, as they may not have been. Many killers return to the dump site, to relive the event.
    Kind thoughts and best wishes.
