    this vid just saved me money and comments helped me understand why it happens, due to the brushes stuck in carbon, I had to bring mine to inspection and it gets failed if ABS light is on, did the soft hammering and after turning the car on and driving a couple meters the light went off and then inspection was done and cleared, thanks for the video mate, this took a weight off my back.

    Guys if you want to know why the abs module worked again,is because there is 2 carbon brush under that cover which is gonna stuck in a position after a while,so in my case the abs symbol poped up and off but i removed that black cover and i cleaned that 2 carbon brush and it worked again.Before it i put the abs module under 12 v and it didnt moved but after cleaning the brushes it started to work again.

    I recently got this problem to but is a bit different... Is happening randomly... When I start my car my steering wheel error appears and after the ABS error appears, the sterling wheel feels hard instead of being soft when turning, after I pass 100m and stop the car and turn it on again the problem is fixed, my problem itself is my ASC error won't go (recently changed the steering wheel sensors) wick might cause these problem or either the pumps starting to malfunction... What I can say is a 15 yrs old car things start to happen but no one good to fix em

      Did you have any changes in the electrical wiring? Or recently had something major replaced? Mitsubishi electrical wiring/ fuses are extremely precise and sensitive. Any deviation whatsoever, even adding a remote starter to a line, can cause trouble. It MUST be done very carefully.
      Often times mechanics will reconfigure your wiring and bypass the original electrical set-up. In other cars, this may be just fine. But not in the Mitsubishi! All appears to run fine until you start something else, and suddenly it affects another completely unrelated item, or the entire car will shut off and keep blowing fuses, etc.
      Solution: Only Mitsubishi's Master Mechanic can completely rewire the car correctly to the original set-up. This is a last resort. It takes HOURS of time/labor. That is why often the manufacturer cannot find it right away. This is a special, unique skill done only by their Master Mechanic, who understands Mitsubishi's electrical schematics.

    • @myautodiy1640
      @myautodiy1640  Год назад +1

      There are so many other parts that can cause this - faulty ABS module, G-Force sensor, steering angle sensor, damaged wiring, etc. Use an ABS capable scan tool to pinpoint the issue. Tyre brands shouldn't affect it, but different tyre sizes can cause issues.

      This occurs because the motor brushes gets stuck due to carbon. Knocking the enclosure will release the stuck brushes. Not sure how long it'll last before it gets stuck again. Mine is still good after 400KM.

      Just tried this a moment ago. Missus called me the other night in a storm and told me about the lights that had come on and I thought it might have been a fuse or some water. Had a look at this video the next morning, finally tried it today, took 5 minutes tops including fetching the little mallet from the garage. Drove it up the block and all good except engine check light still on. Turned it off. Started it again and the check light went out too. Bloody Brilliant. Don't care how long it lasts, as long as it makes it to the dealer on Thursday for the trade-in that was already arranged during the afternoon before the storm :)

    • @myautodiy1640
      @myautodiy1640  Год назад +1

      Got to find a shop that does it professionally. You can replace the brushes yourself if you know how and have the tools, because to do that you'll need to grind off part of the metal/aluminium seal to remove the black cover. Then mounting the cover back is the problem. Got to weld or use strong adhesive.

    • @myautodiy1640

      I doubt it's your pump. That code is very vague. If erasing it doesn't solve it, and your ABS lights are on, start by checking the wheel sensors.
