I don't know why, but my favorite part is the beginning of the song. When he's bent over waiting for them to press play. And right before the music starts, Fred lifts his head looking for them to start the music. It's like a false start.

2:01 I like to think that that's his father who never approved of his freestyle canoeing lifestyle, preferring him to get a real job. However, in the most important freestyle canoeing demo of his life, he shows up, supporting his son for the first time. He sees the beauty of this sport and finally allows his son to pursue his dreams. Hence the thumbs up.

um ok yeah so I was just wondering if that was a single point of origin, fair-trade canoe? Most ignorant Americans are unaware of the plight of the poor lowland canoe wrights of coastal Morabustitania who have been forced to abandon traditional methods of canoe making in favor of the longitudinal slatwork thats prized by western canoe enthusiasts. Despite an increase in demand, these poor craftsmen work on starvation rations, making only 7 to 10 thousand dollars, US, per canoe. Working alone, a single crafstman is only capable of creating 15 or 20 of these masterpieces per year. With such measly wages, they are scarcely able to keep their children clothed in alpaca wool sweaters, let alone being able to afford full shares in the local CSA. few of these craftsmen have even tasted a venti macchiato before.
So we are, like trying to raise awareness and gather signatures for a grassroots campaign to stop the exploitation of niche craftsmen by the western canoe industry.
