I appreciate that half the build isn’t taken up by a massive and relatively useless transmission that barely works.

I think its a reference to the old Racers theme, where almost all the technic built cars had them. Pretty obscure reference but they look and are built exactly the same!

Idk, the spirit of Dom’s charger is about function over form, and I think that’s reflected in LEGO’s choice to make it a playable and function filled set instead of a desk ornament. The mustang is a truly beautiful car, and so is the ‘69 charger, don’t get me wrong. But what makes the charger in the movie special isn’t the beautiful lines and bodywork… it’s what the car can do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
(that said I’m also just a random idiot with a keyboard, and the JB Aston Martin-despite Sariel’s imo unfounded criticism of its looks-proved that a system set can both be beautiful and function-filled if they have enough talent on the job)
Could not agree more. I loved Mustang and it looks way more impressive then any Technic set. Normal Lego is more fun to build too.

Thank you. Your reviews are always among the most detailed and balanced when it comes to your verdict. I must disagree concerning the size comparison, though. In real life the Mustang is a relatively compact Pony car and the Charger is a brute. Admittedly the LEGO Charger is too wide under all circumstances, but the length is nearly the same scale as the Mustang.
I live my life a quarter LEGO tile at a time.

@@danielcepero3790 I honestly really like it. I agree, there are a couple bits that could be improved, but for $100 and F&F and Dodge licenses, it's a nice set with pretty decent functionality and as soon as I get some spare time I'm gonna try stuffing some electronics into it
It needs more length, that year of dodge charger, and the many years similar to it, were long and often called boats because of the length. Lego could no doubt do a better job with the car if it were a system set like the creator mustang
I feel like this set has got Technic fans annoyed because it's not "Technic-ey" enough and System fans are frustrated that it's not one of the Creator Expert cars like the Aston Martin, Delorean and Ecto 1.
If the rear axle was modified to have more ground clearance, it could be a good chassis for a buggy!

Not having B-model, I was thinking... what if it had extra bricks to tune up as an off-road version in F&F Seven. Price might go higher but It would be more lovely.

it still is great for such an affordable price! because i was making a comparison between the blue rally car and this muscle car and it turns out that this has the same scale as the blue rally car but it's just cheaper.
I’m thinking of buying this. I just finished the Ducati motor bike last nite it’s a nice set too. I see on eBay u can get a light kit for this car so il probably buy that too an see how it looks with the lights.

Curious... in the build instructions the rear shocks are yellow plastic towards the back tires (bottom of the car) and front is reversed with yellow on top. I saw in your build you had the shocks in the back with yellow plastic up? Not sure it really matters ? Maybe more bouncy in the back with it per the build instructions. Great videos btw

Can you motorize it with xl motors? I'm trying to do it but I wanted to see how other people do it with an xl
I never new it had chains so. Much it is cool
wish that they did custom Cragar 200-s or American Racing Torque Thrusts for the model but the stock lego wheels don't look too bad on it, also there's some axle left, throw a half spacer or maybe a full spacer in there (don't know the name of the actual lego part, I've always called them spacers because that's what I use them for) and it'll fix that horrendous wheel offset

so how does the V8 able to function? it cool to see it in action but how do you make it move? the video didn't show that. It is by batteries operation, where is the switch? or is it by rolling of the car by gears on gears or??

2:25 the 11*15 frame isn't exactly a new part, it was previously introduced in the lego education Spike Prime expansion set (45680) in light blue.
Also,Spike Prime isnt a Lego Technic set

Over isn't too bad considering most cars from that era including the charger had a fairly narrow track width compared to today's vehicles which all around are generally larger and bulkier compared to their original release.
I’ve got nice deal for £55 from amazon! I’m very picky when it comes to Lego technic but doge charger? Sold! I’ve never seen single f&f movie.. sorry not my cup of tea 🤦🏻♂️also when we gonna see Lego technic trophy/stadium, Baja or monster truck? (complex models)

This should have been better as a Creator set. I expected it to be one as well considering the Charger in the rear view mirror of the Mustang. And sadly they made a mistake in the instruction manual at 10:29 because the charger they show that's supposedly in FF1 is actually the one from Fast and Furious (2009) which is the 4th movie. The one from the first movie has smaller wheels and the original grille

Too bad it isn't brick built, would've looked great next to the mustang. Still, it's difficult for me to pass up on it.
You should check out Firas Abu-Jaber’s mod of the ‘Stang *into* the Charger, it’s amazing.
With the Mustang being so great, it is such a pity that this isn't a Creator Expert model as well. I guess it is more of a Fast and Furious set than a Dodge charger set to be honest.
I feel like the should've used some sort of wheel cover like they did with the Ferrari sets because the "steel" ones don't do it justice.
I was really excited about this set, but to be honest...it wasn’t all that great in my opinion. I still enjoy it however. I added small details to the interior just to make it look better, but it really doesn’t fix it for me.

No, akurat o 15% większa długość Chargera względem Mustanga świadczy raczej o bardzo zbliżonej skali tych modeli. Jedynie co z Chargerem jest w kwestii skali jest nie tak to jego proporcje: trochę za szeroki względem jego długości (lub za krótki względem szerokości).
Szanuję bardzo za tego pora którym przedstawiałeś zawieszenie modelu ^^

Only if Joystick is what you call your hand.
The Ford Mustang is 50$ more in the U.S. It's a tough decision because I like the HOG steering

I'll admit, the wheelie function is a breath of fresh air considering most sets have the same 3 functions: Steering, Engine, Some kind of crane/lifting arm
However, the set seems very flimsy, and quite frankly, half-assed

Lego should've made that model 1:8 scale instead because then they'd make it look more like the real car perhaps have more functions too.

Agreed with all your thoughts on this, a controversial license and a far from perfect model.
But, it's still a significantly better and more meaningful use of a licence than the Top Gear Rally Car set; granted it's not that hard to do better than that set. Still, I was worried when Lego announced there was going to be a set that uses The Fast and the Furious licence that we were going to get another set that is just another random vehicle that is not related to the license at all in any capacity like the Top Gear set.

You should probably have done some basic research before comparing it to the Creator Mustang set. In real life, the Charger is about the size of the current Mercedes S Class😂 The Mustang is about 60cms shorter and a fair bit narrower, so whilst not exactly to scale, it isn't that far off.😉

Sariel takie pytanie, nie zastanawiałeś się kiedyś czy nie pracować w Lego ? Jestem maturzystą i moim marzeniem jest pracować w Lego na dziale Technic, stad pytanie czy tobie nie przyszło to do głowy a jak przyszło czy może coś wiesz jak to wyglada. Pozdrawiam ciepło, uwielbiam twoje filmy 😄💪
No to studzę zapał: od zastanawiania się i marzeń roboty nie dają. Muszą kogoś szukać żebyś w ogóle był wzięty pod uwagę, a wtedy sito jest bardzo gęste i jedna rekrutacja potrafi trwać pół roku. A jeśli jeszcze nie wybrałeś studiów, to projektantami często zostają osoby po projektowaniu przemysłowym. Poza tym LEGO to wielkie sztywne korpo w którym projektanci są tylko małymi trybikami i niewiele mają do powiedzenia.
