Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! My ear was drawn instantly to this beautiful harmonic progression and the delicate touch of David Bowie's voice upon first listening. Being a huge Tony Levin (Bass) fan and hearing his low "C" beneath it all just drove me nuts. Struggling to unlock the magic and transcribe it myself, I turned to the internet for some clues and found many well- meaning but flawed covers. Your tutorial made total sense to me. I hope to have my guitar version posted on RUclips sometime in the future, and I will add the link here if I can.

I think you're right after listening to it in the car ! On my speakers it sounded like that, someone somewhere is playing those notes , but you're right , it's C/ E bass to C. Even the bass, sounds like it's just playing C for both notes, but the piano is playing a C/E

It's all almost perfect... in the bridge there is no E minor triad...i hear only a C/E and C
