Surf Fishing with Swimbaits

- Today, we'll be surf fishing with swimbaits! I'll be using a 4.8 inch Keitech Fat Swing Impact swimbait paired with a Warbaits weedless jighead.
Learning to surf fish with swimbaits has been a long journey for me and it's only just begun. After using Lucky Crafts and other hard jerkbaits exclusively, last year, I committed to giving swimbaits a go and man! These things change the game. Being able to fish weedless in the surf opens up so many possibilities. For more on that, check out this article on my website that compares jerkbaits to swimbaits: surffishingsoc...

Great fishing...thanks for the video!!
Of course! Thank you!
Great video. Keep them coming.
Thanks, Doug!
I feel I have to work up to fishin' those reefs. I'll end up losing way too much tackle. But it sure looks like a challenge.
Thanks for the tips Nick!
Absolutely! Been workin up to it for the past 9 years😂
@@surffishinginsocal lol...And hopefully not losing too much gear.
@@NowIFish you’d be surprised. These weedless baits don’t get snagged… almost ever
@@surffishinginsocal I'll be adding swimbaits in my rotation for sure, especially if I don't bit with my fluke (one of my favorite bites). Thank you Sir!
Sick video bud. Glad you caught that beast sandy on camera.
Thank you man🤙 I’m having too much fun with swim baits lately☺️
aint fishin' fun? I live in carlsbad and discovered surf fishing in 2019. I've dialed it in and I love the corbina bite! Keep Casting!
Tons of fun!
Great video! Can’t wait for summer to finally arrive. Any tips for Camp Pendleton if you’ve ever fished there.
Fished there once and got skunked😂 but I spent too much time on the jetty and I would say the sand is where I should have been fishing
Nice sand bass! cool vid :)
Thanks, Gary!
Hey man! Love the video! I’m new to surf fishing! What’s the best way to read to surf? I’ve been watching videos and it’s so confusing haha
Have you watched my video on reading the surf? Here’s the link.

So sick bro do you have any recommendations in the LA area?
Thank you, man! Unfortunately I haven’t fished LA much but all the same tactics apply. Find the structure find the fish.
Where is that
So cal
@@surffishinginsocal but where in so cal
How long were you fishing
Just a couple hours
@@surffishinginsocal should I just pick a random stretch of beach and toss out my line?
@@private2371 yes
Nice Sandy! I think I may know that spot!!😀 (aka Mace Eraser)
BTW, What color Keitech were you using? Just curious, I have my favorites. Sometimes I feel like action matters more than color. Thoughts?
Hahahah maybe ya do maybe ya don’t🤔
I was using silver shiner. That’s my favorite so far with my next being alewife and then prostaff special. All white is one I need to try as I’ve heard it’s a go to for many but I’ll keep trying
Wat size rod were u using?
Link is in the description. It’s the Okuma SST. Model is referenced in there too. 9 footer HA
HA = “heavy”
What beach is this?
No disrespect at all and thanks for watching the channel, but I’m never going to answer a question regarding the location of a video. I’ve spent a long time discovering all my fishing spots and I’d argue that discovering my spots has been atleast 50% of the fun for me and I think it can be for everyone else who puts in the time. I’ve been driving from essentially the border of SD and Mexico all the way up to Santa Barbara the past few years and finding new spots all through So Cal. There are so many great spots and I encourage you to go out and find some spots of your own. Use that low tide for scouting and grow your journey🤙 Tight line man!
Hey I have a question for you....Do you want to go look for some lost treasure on our sailboat? lol
Hey man, love the videos, keep it up! I just started fishing about a month ago and try to get my line in the water at least every other day, but I’ve gotten skunked every time. I’ve been fishing pretty much everywhere from OB to Oceanside, going in the surf and river mouths, off jetties and piers, and in lagoons, and I’ve been switching between cut bait, live sand crabs, and different kinds of swim baits and lures, but nothing wants to bite! Been doing as much research as I can too, but it can be a little overwhelming. I was wondering if you had any tips on how to land that first fish, anything to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks for the support, man! If you’re finding sand crabs you’re off to a fantastic start.
