LINDEN TO LETHEM ROAD 45 SUPER HIGHWAY BRIDGES TO BE COMPLETED NEXT YEAR

The completion of 45 super-highway bridges along the Linden to Lethem road is expected to be completed next year as the government looks to build an asphalt-concrete bridge through the jungle to connect with Brazil. Thee first phase of the project, building the road from Linden to Mabura is well-underway, with he contractors aiming to meet the mid-2025 deadline.

Sadly the road from Lethem to Boa Vista is only a single lane road, has Brazil plans to upgrade that when the trade routes and traffic volume increases to match Guyana investment? Also security will have to be beefed up, can imagine all the good and bad flowing into Guyana in larger volume.

Have you traversed on that road often? One of their lane is almost like two of ours and very wide shoulders, not to mention no stray animals, no potholes, no drops and waves. They do have wide double lanes and return points strategically several kilometers before entering a town or city. As for highway BR401, approximately over 1000 vehicles traverse it on weekends and yet can't even see any traffic.

great to hear that but currently we need stoplights on the main roads from the bridge to parika and west bank to the end, in fact all the main roads need stoplights because people r living on both sides in many areas, kids , elderly people and many cyclists have to use , how many people more has to die when crossing the roads where the drivers dont care about lives, cameras cannot help we need to cross over to the other sides, already lethem roads r making and plans to put sidewalks , what happens to all the others how much more time will one wait to cross over the roads where drivers have no discipline and care about lives, millions of dollars numbers r calling but what is to be done now y wait for more families to be hurt
