I remember the first bridge opening in the 70s. I was a wee lad. Would be nice to join up essequibo river Island with similar but probably needs 10 miles of bridges, probably not economic.
Public comment. Great work by pop civic government building housing and roads and hospitals and schools and hotels and resorts and bridges and airports. Great job Mr ali president and team. Hard work and dedication for a better guyana. ❤❤❤❤❤
Well done bro... tnx..!! the only comment I have is in response to "the bridge is expected to last 100 yrs''... China does not build anything for anyone to last even 25 yrs.... the old floating bride still works well after 46 yrs only vessels destroy when colliding... the new bridge will not last 46 yrs.

Why the curve in the length of the bridge going over to the westside? If it were straight like the current Habour Bridge wouldn't it have been less longer than its planned length of 300 m which would have then translated into less overall cost? Don't tell me it had to snake its way to catch up some 'holy' ground on the west bank? In other words, I had expected to see the landing on the West side diametrically opposite the East end!
Cuz an engineer and other experts decided the path of the bridge where the support columns would fall on stable ground. While it may look random, Italian companies don't screw around when it comes to such structures. Straight bridges are more prone to flexing in high winds which would require more cables and what not. Don't quote me on that, saw it on an episode of megastructures 😅
Guyanese people don't benefit from any of these things, its their money build it but they don't own it people who own banks and insurance company { the real thieves in Guyana } got share in the bridge now you have to pay 5 times the price to cross, look what they do to Berbice bridge people still has to wait in long lines, when youask the government to reduce the price they say they have nothing to do with that , the bridge is own by some thiefwho's living a lavish life in America.
The GT government is subsidizing the toll for crossing Berbice bridge. I drove over it last week, total GY$ 2200 I only had to pay GY$ 1900, the GY$ 300 is specified on the receipt as g'vt part.
Nice bridge! Kudos from Brazil 🇧🇷
Keep up the good work guys. This warmed my heart. My home.

What is the weight capacity of this bridge? Will this bridge accommodate containers traversing it?
Cool
The government of Guyana is definitely working 💪
gov't of China but sure.
@@arjunsecondary I don’t think this is funded by China this time. Most likely the oil money
can you tell me where Lagrange is plz
Basically it's where the current Harbour bridge lands on the West Bank
