I applied for TaLK too. I legit haven't heard back after my interviews and its 5weeks until intake and I just assumed I didn't get it but I have hope now lol *** update: I GOT IN
Kelsia Cadet we had ppl arrive like a week into orientation haha
Have you tried to contact them?
Yeah. They said they don't when they will give a final answer but are still reviewing applications... I know, great.
hey I have a quick question! Did you wait to send in your apostilled criminal record check until after you were confirmed to go or after?
Kelsia Cadet I applied late for Fall intake but I was getting my documents together after my interview. However, I didn’t apply through Talk. I soled through a recruiter, Canadian Connections. I also used a FBI Channeler.
I’m a recent subscriber and I had to come back to the beginning and see where it all started. Love your content. Keep doing what you do.
How much Korean did you know before you left?
Congrats! that’s awesome. those kids are definitely lucky to have you as there teacher. ..can’t wait to see more ❤️
Abdul thanks!
My birthday's the same as Jimin's haha. I love your voice and your soothing aura. You're very pretty:) new sub.
Bring me the heathens wow! Thanks that's so sweet 🤗
Sisilessthan3 You're welcome!!! I love your videos and you're so inspirational. 😊💛
Happy birthday! lol
As soon as you said OCTOBER 13 I Thought of PARK JIMIN
Thank you for the video. I was watching it for my friend who is interested in teaching English in Korea. And this video is wonderful!
I just got into TaLK and am placed in Chungnamdo! But girl, how the hell did you catch a $600 ticket? Give me some tips sis, cause I gotta buy a flight to Busan soon TT
Oh! What is it like working at Chungnamdo? Im currently in 12th grade and researching on becoming an english teacher in korea! I would really appreciate your response as im not too sure about where id apply/work at in the future. Thank you so much
@@bbebi6377 can you lmk what happened? I am in the same position LOL, hope someone helped you out!!
14 months 😱 but that’s awesome. So happy for you.
You should do a video about your experience learning Korean! :)
I saw that you don't have to have an edu degree but are there any preferred degrees? And you mentioned mock lesson plans. Can I ask what yours looked like or what they are looking for? Also, is speaking Korean a requirement or have you just picked it up along the way? Thank you for sharing your experience!
Wow TALK sounds great. Definitely considering it. I like the idea of more freedom and time off compared to EPIK
Admire your courage! You've been out there for a long time! Are you still in South Korea? If so, how long do you plan to stay there? I'm currently teaching in Thailand and though I am loving my experiences so far, I don't think I can do this for longer than 1 year (partially due to the humidity). I have also been working on building my blog and you have inspired me to consider vlogging as well! Keep it up girl! :)
I relate to the teaching part because I am a full time on line tutor for Koreans as well. I teach all sorts of kids, teens, and adults, and I think it's such an experience. It's quite a challenging job especially of you're teaching kids or beginners. But most of them are so appreciative and thoughtful that it's kinda worth the stress. I actually miss my students because I'm currently sick and haven't been to work in a week. Watching this video just made me appreciate my job a lot more, and it was very nice to hear your experiences. 😊
Kana D. The best part is how shy they are when they first meet a new teacher than they gradually become more comfortable and confident with trying to speak English! It's the best feeling haha I love these kids. They already talk about wanting to travel abroad and study English more 🤗🤗
Sisilessthan3 Exactly! It's so fulfilling to watch them improve and be more confindent in speaking English. Especially when they're young! It's nice to see them actually become excited to learn.
Kana D. I didn't know one could become an online English tutor for Koreans. Can you tell me a bit more? Are the Korean people living in Korea? Is it done thru Skype or something like that? etc.
cloudwalker 713 Yes, most of my students live in Korea~ I say most because there are some that live abroad because of business, work, or maybe the migrated. Our company has its own program where we have our classes. Its like paint plus skype in one basically 😅 Some classes can be done through Skype as well, or via phone if the student wants.
Kana D. Thanks for that. So can anyone try to apply to become an online English tutor for Koreans, like what you're doing? What are some of the the requirements to get the job? Also, are the English lessons mostly done thru online video conferencing? Or mostly thru Skype or phone?
Damn beautiful face and English !! Couldn't help pushing the subscribe button at the first sight. Pls add more videos particularly on ur travels in & out Korea.
am actually trying to be come a teacher in Korea I have some questions *what exactly do you teach when teaching English?* please answer😊
Sorry I know this is an old video, but you mentioned to be in the program they accept you with an associate's degree but you need to be enrolled in college? So were you attending a college in Korea or how did you meet the requirements?
F
I’m currently 14 so I have time, but this is definitely something I want to do when I get older.
same here. It seems so interesting
I love your videos!!! This is an experience I definitely want to try, so glad I came across your channel ❤️😌
With TALK, are you the only one teaching or do you have a co-teacher like with EPIK?
This was nice Isis. Keep it up. I wish you much success.😊😊😊😊
wow this is amazing!! I would love to teach in Korea but I'm afraid I'd be horrible at it.
I had the turn the volume UP for this video lol
Omg an ARMY and a MONBEBE omg this is perfect 👍🏻💜
How do you maintain your gorgeous hair in Korea? That’s something I’m always slightly worried about 🤔
Hi I am interested in moving to Korea to teach, I want to move by August 1st 2018 is that possible? Also where should one start with the process?
Caira Williams EPIK program for February 2019 intake opens on the 1st of August.
I’ve been looking into the TALK program as well. Idk if they will have it for next year, but in some videos I’ve seen, it seems that there is a solo practicum? (correct me if I am wrong) what exactly is the practicum about?
Thank you!
how did you get your apartment
Taeᄒyungs Little Helper some programs offer single unit housing if you get the job!
Did you by any chance took any.. Certification course such as.. : TESOL / TEFL and all ??
Can u do one of how you learned korean
First video I see of you. Girl, I adore you already lol
hey i loved the video very informative...i thought about applying for T.A.L.K a year ago but i wasnt sure how it would affect school...can you explain the Learn part of the TALK problem as it relates to school?
EatPlayLove the learn part is for us haha we have a lot of free time and opportunities to learn about Korea outside of teaching
ah..so there is no academic educational aspect...do you think it is possible to take online classes at your american university and still be somewhat successful juggling teaching and course work ? i have my associates but i will be starting my 3rd year in fall ..it will be 2019 or2020 by the time i am finished with school but i do not want to wait that long to teach abroad.
EatPlayLove yup haha I did it last spring, summer, and fall semester
omgosh!! that is so awesome!! Thank you so much, you have been extremely helpful.
can you make a video about that kind of time management and even having time for education/side jobs/ other things while being a TALK teacher? :) I love your channel!
You're really beautiful😱😱😍
lmfaoooo that short clip of kids is funny and cute
Do you know if it helps if you’re already in Korea? I know some schools won’t pursue you if they have to pay for the flight.
Literally danced to this is America and the beginning with you lol
YEEESSS IRELAND! i really want to live in korea.
What is the oldest we can be to teach English abroad? I want to apply but I am afraid I might be too old and will get judged. I’m 28..
Maria Soto ppl teach here into their 50s ur not too old.
Sisilessthan3 Thank you, I think I will apply
Maria Soto do it girl! I am about to start my application process and I am beyond excited!
15hrs a week??!
Is there a minimum period of time which the contract requires you to work? Would it be possible to do it for 6 months or a year? Thanks.
Hi! So I applied a month or so ago and i was just wondering if you submitted your paperwork before your first interview or after? Thank you!!! :)
It was before
Sisilessthan3 thank you!!
When you were first going to korea, did you pay for the plane ticket yourself??
Yup lol
would you consider this as a possible career or just a job? I currently have a career but dont love it and might consider this if it is a actual career path.
For me personally no, especially since there isn't a lot of room for promotions and such.
I'm sour because I applied to TaLK and they really waitlisted my ass. But I'm here anyway so w.e I guess...Anyway I enjoy all of your sitdown videos haha
Do they make you move around or do you stay in one place?
So relatable!
Brittany Randle this is the first RUclips comment ever! 🤗
I love your hair
"They've seen _us_ " hahaha i couldn't stop laughing at that sentence tho😂
is that panda from we bare bears behind you?
This is the second video I've watched from your channel. You're 2/2 for using BTS birthdays as substitutes for dates, it's so funny how casually you just drop in those BTS references.
You're a combination of Left Eye & Janet Jackson.
Yesss!!
Hi. Was watching tour video. I am an Italian citizen but I live in England. Can I apply for the program if I have the UK resident card ?
Ambra francis I'm pretty sure you have to be born in the 7 countries they list 😔
You need to have UK Citizenship and studied in an English speaking country since middle school ...
SISTAR 😭💙
What is the oath you have to sign?
👍
What did you major in college?
Could you do this program with only an associate's degree?
Yes. It is targeted towards those with 2 years of University experience or Associate Degree holders
There is no age limit ?
I like the fact that you are very knowledgeable about where you are, I thought I wanted to go there, but I change my mind, I hope I can catch you in China please let me know when you plan to go to China 🇨🇳 love meet have fun
Why would people just do all that work FOR MONEY and THEN LEAVE KOREA!
Why are u asking this stupid question. It s not just korea in which this happen. It happens everycountry
What degree do you have?
To be honest I'm 14 but I would love to go in Korea not only of BTS 😍 I just love how Korea has less problem with black people than America. Well not all the time😑. Thank you for your videos and I hope that in the future we might see each other. And thank you for telling me about your experience as a black person in Korea. I'm also black, I just want to prepare myself for me going to Korea.😊
Same, I have the same dream as you. I really want to go to Korea too in the future one day. (BTW I'm 15 and black too)
Hey girl, do you have insta?!
Did you have to be fluent in Korean in order to get your job?
Kamila Lawson it all depends on who you apply to. The one I saw you do not.
Did you have to know a pretty big amount of Korean?
U don't have to know any Korean
Wow then how are you supposed to teach Korean kids😂 btw thanks for answering
Because you're an English teacher.
Ohh so your mentor teacher kind of translates back and forth? I'm talking about if a child asks a question or something
RSA😄
