Funny thing about staying mostly at home for two years: your everyday carry doesn’t change all that much. But my viewers have been asking for an update on what’s in my tech bag, and I’ve finally gotten enough new stuff to put inside it (or at least new thoughts on the old stuff that’s been inside it) to make a video worth sharing. And because I think an everyday carry video is a lot more fun when it happens on the road, I borrowed a Tesla Model X from my sponsor to make that happen.

3:05 is the kind of niche script + b-roll combination that puts Mr. Mobile a cut above the rest. Every video is a thoughtful journey; every segway and quip thoughtfully placed.
This explains it perfectly. I've watched many other tech EDC videos but they're all just TechTubers emptying their bags Infront of a camera. This was great as it showed everything in use.
Still baffles me how you can make any subject into one of the best videos this site has been graced with... Every time I see you upload something I click it immediately knowing the next few minutes are gonna be entertaining. Please keep going and keep up these amazing videos!

You should totally do a video about what it's like to be reviewing multiple devices at once. Like what makes you think "I should pull out this phone and see how it handles this situation" or what it's like taking the same photo 3 times with 3 different phones out in public thinking people are looking at you funny

yay for still carrying an iPod or a dedicated music player in 2022! I still carry one everyday because i got tired of notifications interrupting my music, and i also got one for my wife and she says she absolutely loves it. Carrying a single device for everything is convenient but theres something special about having something that has a very specific function when you want it.
Tylor's voice and the way he talks is so unique, once I was watching a video about a folding knife that I am interested in and I notices that the voice of this youtuber is very familiar, after some digging I realized that this was Taylor from the old days of pocketnow.

Absolutely no replacement for experience in any job. These thirteen minutes was better told than any movie released recently. Fantastic job MrMobile. Lots of Love and immense respect.
I got my foldable bluetooth keyboard (which also has a very mediocre trackpad) when I bought a new laptop, relegated my Chromebook to being the primary media portal for my tv and needed something that would cross the room without draping a wire. And because I thought if/when I start getting back out I'd be able to use it to also type on my phone or a tablet while sitting in a library or some similar place.
It's definitely got its problems (which happens when you look for inexpensive solutions) but it's good enough that I think it'll hold up in more mobile situations. And there is something aesthetically pleasing about it when it's all closed up.
Fantastic vid as always! I love how close we've come to meeting twice now; once when I lived in Asheville, and now you were within 30min of where I live now when you hit up Durham!
A couple thoughts for you:
1)That SanDisk Dual Drive I saw you rocking on your Mac--used to own one...until it literally fell apart. You should check out the all-metal SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe. It's way sturdier than either of the older two iterations of dual drives by Sandisk, and it still packs the versatility of USB A/C ends.
2)On your Fold 3, you can disable the on-screen keyboard when you connect your Bluetooth one in Settings>General Management>Physical Keyboard>Show On-screen keyboard. Somehow, I bet you know this and have a reason for keeping it as-is.

I have a good suggestion for another topic: In case of unforeseen circumstances, do you have some sort of survival bag with tech that you'd have in those situations? A good survival/tech bug-out bag would be nice :)
Good idea, but wrong RUclipsr... MrMobile is hardly the roughout bugout type of guy... Look at the amount of stuff he ports around.

Great video. Your points on the battery life on the M1 MacBooks can’t be emphasized enough. I have forgotten to charge my air for 2-3 days in a row with university every day and still been totally fine, and when you do charge it…10 minutes can get you over an hour or more. It’s a massive anxiety just gone. My favorite piece of tech in years.
Honestly for the most part of the video, I forgot it’s a tech video. I was just listening to Michael’s road trip adventure.
You gotta try the Marshal Major IV On-Ear headphones. Never thought I'd use or promote an on-ear type, but they are great. The BT is only SBC but they really have it tuned in with the 40mm drivers. Super great on the move from spot to spot, not activities. The added bonus for me is they can be wired, and I use the EarStudio ES100 MK2-24bit Portable High-Resolution Bluetooth Receiver/USB DAC/Headphone Amp with LDAC, and they really bloom!
You don't post tech videos on this channel - you post stories that apeal to the tech nerds in us and make me watch every video from start to end because they are just masterpieces. Can't wait for the next video Micheal!

At 10:50 you still have the on-screen keyboard showing despite using the BT keyboard. I'm sure you already know, but for those looking at that and thinking, "why?" Go into settings, search for "physical keyboard," and toggle off "show on-screen keyboard when physical keyboard connected." Enjoy your reclaimed screen real estate.
