He's worked with Sam Raimi, though, and Sam's style, especially back in the 90s and early 00's, had a lot of strong similarities to Tim's work. Using Danny Elfman frequently too probably helped with the vibe.
It might be possible for Beetlejuice to reject a summon, particularly from those he rather not deal with. Once he commits to a summon though he has no control over over being sent away.
@@Toungecat this is definitely plausible. I feel like if that’s the case, he’d mostly responds to being summoned when it’s a situation he know will benefit him. But at the same time, it would be possible for him to ignore it
I'm so used to seeing William Defoe play as psychopathic freaks (like Green Goblin) that I think it's so weird seeing him playing as an afterlife cop, but at the same time I love it!❤
Whomever said Wolf Jackson was a waste of a character really should stfu. The guy's a Riot. I would imagine someone like Dafoe as equally crazy as Beetlejuice.
Dafoe was great in this movie. I really enjoyed his character in this film. I was expecting him to be a villain psychotic character like he is as Green Goblin especially with the line "WHERE'S BEETLEJUICE?!" in the trailer it sounded like a line from a villain. He really surprised me in this movie. I guess he's tom cruise if he got his head cut open doing a stunt
Seeing Willem Dafoe in a Tim Burton movie with Michael Keaton like this film has been a dream come true. Personally I think Dafoe would have played a great joker in the 1989 Batman movie even though Jack Nicholson was the best Joker.
If they did a Beetlejuice new animated series, this should happen one day. Have Stephen Ouinette return as Beetlejuice and have Neil Ross as Wolf Jackson.
I the stuntman joke based on how Dafoe only returned to play Green Goblin because he wanted to do his own stunts? Also 6:00 what did she do that requires the commisioner of the police to see her?
I think Willem Dafoe could play any role that was meant for Jack Nicholson whether it’s the joker or a private detective like Jake Gittes in Chinatown and the two Jakes.
@@Neags nah not pointless, just underused. He was a very enjoyable character who was not given enough to do, as a result of the movie juggling so many story threads
I enjoyed him the whole time he was onscreen. But it did feel like they shoved the plots of two Beetlejuice sequels into one and nix the climax to make room for MacArthur Park
I was surprised to hear that this was Willem Dafoe's first film with Tim Burton. Feels like they should've worked together ages ago.
Mty😂

He’s also in John wick
Dafoe looked like he had a blast working on this film. He owns every role no matter how big or small 😂
Tim Burton: "I need you to act like that detective from American Psycho."
Dafoe: "Like he lost his mind?"
Burton: rewrite script "Yes."
So...the agent from Boondock Saints?
I always crack up when the secretary kept appearing randomly with the coffee.

"You are not a cop. You are an actor."

He’s trying to catch Beetlejuice if only there was a way to summon him by saying his name three times

he could, but... he gotta keep it real

not a cop afterlife Actor ;) ( just using the reference from the clip from the one lady )
The moment Batman met the Green Goblin
Willems Dafoe looks like two face 😅 same act as detective and half face broken

Willem Dafoe does a great performance in this movie!!
I liked the movie, and I agree that he was good in it but tbh...I thought his character was kinda cringe in a full-of-himself way
I agree💜
He’s a bit of a scene stealer in this 🎬👍😉
@@gavinmasterson8202 he even nailed his performance as the Green Goblin in Raimi's Spider-Man movie

I LOVED that 😂
0:45 That scared me real good when I saw the movie in theaters… 😂😂😂
Who here wants a "Frank Hardballer" spinoff?!
If Tom Cruise isn't careful he's gonna end up like this guy.
Willem Dafoe rage can be so extreme at times on his movies ❤
5:19 made my laugh out loud because he is covered in cake and giant glass shards from busting into the wedding church windows lol
We need a Wolf Jackson spinoff.
Get the vibe that Wolf and his secretary had an office fling going on lol.
Remember fellas
"Ya gotta keep it real" 😎
He uses his green goblin voice for this role
The best part is thats just his voice in his old age now.
His voice has been like this since many years now, look The Lightouse (2019) he sounds like that too

Batman and Green Goblin finally meet ! 😳
All that pacing back and forth they really made the most of his "injury" on camera.
"wouldn't be the first woman who wanted to kill me. And, kinda hard to kill a dead guy" 😂
No matter what film mr dafoe is in i always hea him as the goblin
The green goblin vs the vulture.

He will always be the green goblin
To be honest I liked his character 😂
The soul train scene was the best scene in the whole movie. They should have just made the whole thing a musical like this.
