I work on the 777 and the 300 passenger version is no longer built. We do build the 200 version for freight and a new one leaves the building every 5-7 days. The Everett plant also fixes all the new 787 's from SC before they are delivered to the customer. It's a great place to work and amazing to step foot on these aircraft every day. The 777 production floor you observed is 13 acres. This doesn't include the area where the fwd, mid, aft and tail sections are assembled.
@@yoyoyoyoshua i believe all of them come for rework until a certain line number i cant recall at the moment. I heard the company flew in a couple handfuls of BSC workers to finish the rework while your on strike.
@@wil8115 Last I checked it was only Everett built 787's being reworked at Everett and SC is now reworking their own aircraft. But yeah they did bring in some workers to do work. I forgot what they were there for though.
@16:18 next to that hangar is flying heritage and combat armor museum. One of the best collections on ww2 aircraft in the world in my opinion. They have an original me262 with modernized jumo engines (original design but modern materials in order to have more hours between rebuilds).
I was researching for a hopefully upcoming ANA flight and got hooked today through your ANA A380 video and loved the depth of information and humor. Then I realized all the other vids are also loaded with info and humor, something the other flight vloggers dont have. Now subbed!
6:39 I went back in July of this year, and that whole ramp had several 777X in anticorrosion paint and without engines. Its crazy how they made such a huge change over the past 3 months.
An interesting regional airport to me is Madison Dane County (Wisconsin). They have this like, Prairie School, Art Deco 50s style architecture, and always play old jazz music. Surreal place.
11:45 wish you had visited the Museum of Flight to just a bit to the south of the Amtrak station. The 747 prototype is currently housed there and it’s so much more awesome than the corporate failure that is Boeing right now.
Great vid. Super cool coincidence, I actually did the whole tour on a US trip from Syd, back in July. Was a bit busier then, was great to see the Dreamlifter takeoff.
2:19 the tour used to have Dreamliner stuff, 747-8 stuff, and overall a lot more shenanigans. Obviously we all know what happened to Boeing so now it’s quite shameful
One think I miss now that I've moved from Tulalip to Portland is flying out of PAE. What a wonderful airport, it's like a first class lounge for everyone.
I worked at Boeing as a drafter for over 30 years, primarily on the 757 (wing and body structures) and 737NG (flight deck), but did some months on the 747-400 (honestly, I can't remember). ;-) That's why those people back then were called the "Incredibles".
the 737 North line is under construction even during the strike. the green on the 777x is sprayed on skin protectant not a warp. GE very behind with the GE9X engines. there's close to 2 dozen 777x sitting awaiting completion with more inside still in various stages of build but on hold(strike).. There's over 24k folks that work at the Everett plant. during the day it becomes like the 6th largest "city" in the county in less than 1000 acres.
Hey bro, like yoi said interesting tour. Did a tour of the boeing factory 10 years ago, presume you'll like it without my input but i reslly enjoyed it
I'm retired from Boeing and pictures are strictly forbidden. In order to take pictures, even as an employee, you need a Camera Permit, which requires a valid reason for you to take pictures, approval by a supervisor to even submit the application, and then review of the form. Mine was approved because of the materials I worked with, but any sort of "recreational" photography is verboten. During my tenure, I witnessed several companies banned from Boeing property forever and contracts cancelled because their employees were taking pictures or videos. In many locations that have military connections, even employees must surrender their phones.
I went to the factory tour in june 2000. Of course i sneaked my camera along and snapped a few production and flightline photos! 767, 777 and 747’s Who knows where those pics are today 😅

Most of the 787's there are Everett built last I heard.
@@yoyoyoyoshua The 787 is 100% assembled in SC. Has been for years now.
@@jasonb.3223 I know that.... I work on the 767 line. They still had some 787's that were built in Everett that need to be reworked.

Love this channel!! So refreshing compared to all the fake/paid/sponsored crap that’s around lately! Content is on point 👌 thank you so much ❤😊
From another AVgeek, I appreciated all the historical context and content. Cheers!

My aspirational self in action. Thanks for another great vid @simon

Great review of the tour, never thought I'd want to tour an aeroplane factory, but almost got me there!😊
The uber guy was really jamming some good tunes! Haha love your videos btw
You should visit airbus at Hamburg and Toulouse. (where planes are actually being built unlike at boeing :-) )
YESSSSS! Best part of the week
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I live right next to pae and it feels so cool to have it as my local airport!

Yep very interesting again Simon and depending on cost a good one day trip from Vegas.

Fiji with mum coming soon?
I legit spit out my breakfast at the George Russell meme
Very nice vlog. Yeah the museum or exhibit at Paine is pretty boring.

Hahaha hello! Yes, got a trip or two planned that involve those spots!

Haha so awkward. Great video. As always.
I assume this wasn't filmed in the last 21 days that or you avoided the picket lines lol
Hahaha yeah nah it was quite a few months ago
Not that it matters to anyone or the channel owner, but big fan, really big fan…. Very chill and «human» creator!
Thanks for the 777X coverage. I learned a lot.
We were there this july
Bummed you didn't have my brother as your tour guide! 😅
I cannot wait for next week's video
When did you do this tour? What date?
6ish months ago now
I love the channel
You thought it was awkward then, now the machinists are on strike!
best way to end the wk !!
We’re getting GTA VI before the 777X 😭
Best aviation vlogegr
hey wow what a nice surprise. 🙂
The largest building in the world isn’t in India now ?
This is and I'm pretty sure still is the largest building by volume for a few decades now.
why does Boeing have a hanger door?
Why would they not? I'd rather not work in the cold when it's winter.
Beautiful airport
How do you fund this kind of lifestyle??!? So jealous
2026, engineering union may go on strike 😅
2 weeks ago wasn’t cold bud and good job not mentioning the strike.
Great content buddy!
