The fact that Nintendo DIDN'T stylize the Splatoon 2 logo as "Spla2oon" is disturbing.

Realistically, using that name only looks cool but not practical at all.
That would sound like "Splat-won" and naming it like that isn't good for business at all. They've done that once with the WiiU, and look at it... People think it's an upgrade instead of a new console (in this case, game)

I watched the whole thing, you guys shit on a lot that wasnt an established brand (Mario, Splatoon, Zelda, mainly). - I'll give you more credit than your friend, you at least gave a lot of the videos the benefit of the doubt, but there was a lot of dismissive commentary. - And hey, that's your right. But I think if anyone had anything negative to say about your reactions video, it would probably be that.
But I get it, it's "in the moment' type video and shit just leaps off of the tongue. Anyways, can't wait to see a deeper thoughts video!

I was almost crying with that teaser.
When I saw the New York-esque footage, I jokingly said, "A new Mario game!" Then Mario popped out of the ground and I lost my mind.
I love how expressive Mario is in this one. It looks so impressive, the atmosphere, the landscapes, the action. Just wonderful!
The Mario and Zelda look amazing. Especially Mario. You have no idea how much I want new 3D platformers, and seeing Mario go back to that is amazing. And that new Zelda, wow. I'm getting this on launch.

Looking back from 2019. I think I watched this presentation live. Nintendo Switch has done so well. I love Nintendo.
I remember how magical this time felt. Immediately jumping on 2 different retailers to make sure that I could get at least 1 on launch day (which is the one I still have 💜). The wait between the reveal stream and launch day felt like a dream.
Looking back from 2023. I didn't watch this presentation live. Nintendo Switch has done so well. I love Nintendo.

Yeah, for nintendo fans they're kind of lacking in the japanese game culture. This and Xenoblade being "single player mmo" lol. Xenoblade and SMT are two of the most respected franchises, the most mature ones and the one that gave the best games of this generation to players all over the world. Xenoblade Chronicle (the first one on Wii) is considered an absolute masterpiece, and I just don't get how a Nintendo fan could complain about the lack of games and 3rd party titles and not having played this one.
Even then, with all that talk of them being Nintendo fans, they should have at least known who Atlus was. Holy fuck, how in the hell can you not know the developers that made the SMT/Persona series!? I cringed when they said Atlus made a lot of bad games while having little knowledge of them lol They remind me of those casual Pokemon fans that only became fans after they played Pokemon Go.
XCX was pretty much a single player mmo though. Endless grind, lacklustre story etc. pp.
XC wasn't, however (there were similarities but that's it).
Glad I wasn't the only one thinking "Shin Megami x Dragon Quest" or "Persona x Dragon Quest". Ahh well, dreams are free I suppose hahaha.

It can't be anything other than NMH, because no more heroes is Grasshopper's best and popular title, compared to the rest.

32gb of internal memory. SD compatible.
All games will be stored on cartridge, which means NO installation needed.
Savestates will more than likely be stored on cartridge, but if not, 32gb will be more than sufficient until you can get ahold of an SD.

Remember Xenoblade was announced early for the Wii U and came out at the end of its cycle 3 years later. Expect Xenoblade 2 in 2019. No More Heroes isn't even started it'll be out in 2019.

Oh man, I envy your forward thinking regarding preordering right away. I came back the day after, and hesitated (despite how hyped I am), and they were all gone. At least I got the Special Edition for Zelda. I'll hope to get the Switch preorder asap, but we'll see.

+Arlo well when it comes to the detailed haptic feedback and high sensitivity accelerometers (gyros if you prefer) they use the same ones that valve uses for the steam controller they are fairly low on ressources consumption ironically and not that expensive to produce ;)
So no it will not add that much to the cost of production and won't consume that much ressources ;)

Actually, people played Wii Sports for much longer. Wii Sports is what sold the console.

Alex Franco They are probably planning to port some Wii and maybe WiiU games. Maybe not the ones that need you to point at a sensor, but the ones that need motion controls. As for the touchscreen, blame current tech trends.

We will probably look back on these sort of videos,and remember all the hype. Also this is 2 hype trains I've been late to,the first one being Terraria 1.3.

I just got home and I'm betting i'll hear that these games likely turned some people off.

But Nintendo needs to capture a large market so hopefully if they made anyone loose interest they can regain it.

I truly believe in the concept of the Switch, and I am pretty sure I am going to be satisfied with the machine once I get it.
I am just scared Nintendo will continue fucking up (the presentation has gotten really polarized responses, and I understand why. A bit of a mess)
I wish Nintendo would hire a better marketing team. They need to communicate their message better in US and Europe.
Else, this might be the last gaming console Nintendo ever makes.

J Godden I was hoping it would be another bravely default, hopefully without a crap story. But that name is just weird...
To be fair the Bravely Default games (along with many other Square games) have utterly bizarre names. And yeah, it feels like it might draw on Bravely Default outside of sharing a concept/character artist. Maybe the battle system will include some of the series' innovations.
That would be really cool. Even the title card looks kinda similar to me but I might be crazy.
