I hear you bro. I'm 46 now and it's a shame that my prime gaming days did not include more 2K football games. I could never play Madden except maybe 04, and 05 without losing intrest after a few weeks. This game still blows away Madden 22 and that is ridiculous. Madden should have a class action lawsuit against it by now for releasing half baked beta versions for 2 years in a row. As well as lose it's NFL license. It's like it's still using code from 15 years ago with a 1st person gaming engine running it into the ground.

I remember selling our Ps1 and N64 at Electronic boutique and getting the Dreamcast and NFL2k. I remember my big brother connecting to the internet. That 56K Ran pretty good on Dial up. Use to play this and Quake 3 arena online.

Moms got him one a week early from EBGames before it's initial release. He was an animal in the football games. Use to carry his own controller 😂. They was in the back room playing this and all you heard was rumbling. The "champ" was getting demolished by my dad and my dad was a big talker and they had $100 on the line. My dad Beat him in the the game, then beat him up in real life😂😂😂😂😂
I play franchise of this on my android phone with Redream. 2k1 wasn’t perfect, but it was the start of something special. Absolutely ahead of its time. It plays so well. And it had really fun rosters and free agents. NFL 2k2 was a step backwards to me. 2k1 you could sit in the pocket and let passing plays develop. In NFL 2k2, there was no pocket. You had to have a an who could scramble to the sidelines then throw, or you’d just have to give the ball to your halfback all day. Shoutout to the Dreamcast. The graphics were so clean. The controller was so nice. Such a huge leap past the PS1 and those terrible polygons.
There was so much more effort put into these games back in the day. It just looks way more fun to play. Only thing the games have going for them now is the graphics and they can't even get that right half of the time.
The cool thing was back in Junior High my coach had a Saga Dreamcast in the coaches office he would invite me to stay after practice and we would play NFL2K or watch Rocky those were his favorite movies or Red Skeleton. He sadly passed away a few years ago .

I bought NFL 2k3 for the PS2 and I did NOT like the playcalling mechanism. I bought ESPN NFL 2k5 for the PS2 and found simulated football video game heaven.
Better than pretty much any Madden. NFL 2K & NFL Game Day where allot better and NFL Blitz was halriouse they got sued several times . They said it was a disgrace to the NFL it's to violent and helmets popping off isn't funny head concussions aren't something to make fun of. They didn't like the Ambulance 🚑 running over people in the early Madden games either 😂.
I was dissapointed coming from Dreamcast to Ps2 ugly dry mip mapping graphics crazy taxi was not the same on ps2 neither was Doa 2 MDK fur fighters all games dropped in resolution and textures playing them on ps2 compared to the smoothness and vibrant Dreamcast graphics

We watched 1-4 some days after football practice who wants to stay after school . We could watch movies in the cafeteria. They brought in 2 litter soda and pizza every Saturday we had a dance in the Cafeteria they moved out the tables for us . The 90's up until 2005 was the shit. You would see sevral class mates up at Block Buster people you didn't even know who where like you want to hang out ? You made allot of friends in school that way it isn't like that nowdays and it's tragically sad i fill sorry for children growing up nowdays.
I remember playing exhibitions because they were fun. Now, the gameplay isn't as good and you just want to play Franchise mode because it's the only redeemable quality of the game.
That skipping intro is a reminder why the GD-ROM was a failure. Discs that aren't scratched skip and stutter even though the laser works fine, they should of gone with DVD
True and you reminded me I need to get that disc buffed lol. I'm about to send a batch out. Since this video, I have replaced the GD-ROM /w an SD card solution and replaced the fan and power supply on my Dreamcast. Eventually I am going to do the HDMI mod.
@@phxsisko that'll solve the disc skipping lol. I have thps2 and 4x4 evo and the intro vids have video skips but no audio loss very strange, and my DC is a version 0 made in Japan that everyone seems to favor over the Chinese revision 1 and Indonesian revision 2

This footage was captured from a Dreamcast using the real GD-ROM disc for 2K1. That being said, I am now using a GDEMU on that Dreamcast to save my laser assembly since it's getting harder and harder to find those replacement parts.

The new Steam Deck does support Windows 10. So you could install that, then install a Dreamcast Emulator. I'm not sure how well this game is emulated, probably well if I had to guess. My gameplay is from an actual Dreamcast. There are no copies of this to buy on any of the digital store fronts.

Yeah, because DVD players back then were really expensive, so people bought the PS2 as the cheapest solution for playing DVD's!
