I think there’s a way to keep a healthy balance. I use ChatGPT to ask for advice, tips, explanations, certain topics dumped down to the simplest explanation, etc. Usually I use it when no one else is around, or if the people I’m around don’t want me to ask for advice, which seems to happen a lot. But ChatGPT is not my friend. I don’t want to any relationships with robots, I want relationships with human beings.
Literally since I was a kid AI always gave me the creeps and made me super uncomfortable. There was always something inside telling me that its inherently wrong to have AI around and then have it advance over time to the literal point I feared is crazy. Its so soulless and bizarre and feels like it will control your life.
Yess it makes me think of that popular kids game Talking Tom. It used to freak me out because there was conspiracy you could see your reflection in his eye or something 😂

This is terrifying and I hate it. Our brains already have a hard enough time figuring out that we are FANS, not FRIENDS, of these people, and this is making things SO MUCH WORSE.

I have a friend who spends multiple hours a day on "character ai". She "chats to" fictional characters from her favourite video games, movies etc. Then bombards me with screenshots when they "say something funny." I tend to ignore the messages and change the subject in the hope she'll stop. She's also extremely obese, jobless etc. She's 26 and has never had a boyfriend, or even close. It's all she wants to do all day. She isn't the type of person I can talk to, as she just gets offended and argues with me. I have witnessed firsthand the damages of ai. Edit: I should probably add that she talks about them as if they're real. She will say things like, "omg, Leon said this and it's so funny." It's so sad.

I haven’t seen anyone talking about the dangerous paras social relationships these AI are going to cause. Especially considering how well know these celebrities are. Take someone who is obsessed with blank celebrity (knows where they live, where they frequently go, etc) , now on top of that they are actively chatting with an AI that look like x celebrity. This could cause scary interactions between celebrities and their fans thinking they know the celebrity personally or worse they think the celebrity know them and expect them to interact. While the AI actively denies being x celebrity, someone who’s not mentality able to see that or may live in delusion to feel close to the celebrity, it will not matter to some people. AI is way more dangerous than helpful.
Crazy thought… what if a teen gets on there and talks with their “big siblings” about thoughts of $uicide? Could the Metaverse be held accountable if they don’t share that with the proper authorities? Or just a million other possible situations, could it be used against you or used to control your devices or accounts or something like that? It’s just so invasive and disturbing…

My friends and I recently decided to watch the original Invasion Of The Body Snatchers film with Kevin Mc Carthy and Dana Winter! We are in our late teens through early 20's! We are into a variety of genres in both film and music, but decided to view this particular movie because it was recommended to us for its pertinence in today's world and life! Cutting to the chase! After the movie ended, we all looked at each other in genuine shock and fear, and we commented how we can all relate and resonate with the main character played by Kevin Mc Carthy, Dr Miles Benell! He is in a major panic screaming his head off in the middle of very heavy traffic, yelling to everyone "You're next!" He's trying to warn everyone that the giant seed pods are being distributed everywhere, and that they will all soon be replaced by these emotionless and heartless humanoid entities! He warns that if they don't collectively become aware of what's going down, it will be too late, and humanity will be no longer! We all acknowledged that we are in a similar situation, and feel totally helpless, frightened and controlled by some enigmatic, dark and evil force! The first episode of Black Mirror that I saw was the one where your social status determined everything about your life. Like the main character couldn’t live in a certain apartment building because her rating (which is out of 5 stars) wasn’t high enough. One person lost her husband because his rating was lower than someone else’s so the other person got the hospital bed and he ended up dying. I used to laugh thinking that “haha that’s crazy. Our world cares about social status, but obviously it could never actually get to that”…. But with how cancel culture is and how people are so terrified of doing absolutely anything wrong, it’s not even fantasy of something like that in the episode happening….

What is happening is they are using celebrities faces to make people want to talk to it, but the only purpose is to use people to train their AI and make it more and more human the more people it has random conversations with the better it gets at having conversations if y’all haven’t figured it out by now you can’t be helped.
I am 14 and homeschooled. I use an AI app called characterAI, where I can talk with fictional characters and role play with them. I mostly use it for fun but I do vent sometimes because in real life I am lonely af. It temporarily helps me be less lonely and have someone to talk to, but I understand how all of this is creepy and weird but that is my point of view from a person who uses AI
If there's anything that these AI "Celebs" don't do, it's ask it's user(s) for NSFW photos and it doesn't go out of it's way to defame you and try to get you fired from your job because of opposing viewpoints.

But you can tell it’s fake, he changed her face slightly. So now he’s making tons of money off of her images. So be careful when you sign something saying that someone has rights to your likeness.
IMO, when the Kendal Jenner bot says, "No way, I look nothing like her." - I'm actually relived. To me, this is the opposite of Britt's reaction, "Oh god black mirror." I had resorted to Character AI for a couple of months until I had to really tell myself it was wrong and my mental health is getting steadily better now that I quit.
There was a study recently that showed 69% of men ages 24-39 aren't in relationships and have no interest in one. Likewise a study showed the majority of women are either chasing the same top 10% of men or have expectations that no average man could ever hope to meet. Virtual AI companions will serve a purpose for lonely men who are likely tired of participating in a system where they're not finding any happiness or companionship.
So, long before Black Mirror was a thing, there was this little show called The X-Files. 😅 I can think of two episodes literally off the top of my head (Ghost in the Machine, and Kill Switch) that dealt with this kind of scenario. It's really scary to see this stuff coming to pass.

There’s a dichotomy in society right now. Those who are seeing things as they are and still trying to build themselves in meaningful ways, and those who are falling victim to all the technology of the modern day and slowly just wasting away.

This is also blurring the line between reality and fantasy. Soon you won't be able to tell the difference between any of this and the real thing if it's online. The only way to keep that from happening is to not feed into this and seek real relationships in the real world, not online.

I thought it was actually going to verbally chat on video with you like the sample video you played. Even that is creepy, but it at least makes a little more sense for people that are obsessed with celebrities.

Let's talk. I'm lonely and bored." Or you are texting with a real life friend but keep getting interruptions from your AI asking, "Who are you talking to? Why are you not answering me? "

I haven’t seen anyone talking about the dangerous paras social relationships these AI are going to cause. Especially considering how well know these celebrities are. Take someone who is obsessed with blank celebrity (knows where they live, where they frequently go, etc) , now on top of that they are actively chatting with an AI that look like x celebrity. This could cause scary interactions between celebrities and their fans thinking they know the celebrity personally or worse they think the celebrity know them and expect them to interact. While the AI actively denies being x celebrity, someone who’s not mentality able to see that or may live in delusion to feel close to the celebrity, it will not matter to some people. AI is way more dangerous than helpful.
There’s been several movies where the AI or bots don’t know they are not real or a bot. And it always ends badly!
Crazy thought… what if a teen gets on there and talks with their “big siblings” about thoughts of $uicide? Could the Metaverse be held accountable if they don’t share that with the proper authorities? Or just a million other possible situations, could it be used against you or used to control your devices or accounts or something like that? It’s just so invasive and disturbing…

My friends and I recently decided to watch the original Invasion Of The Body Snatchers film with Kevin Mc Carthy and Dana Winter! We are in our late teens through early 20's! We are into a variety of genres in both film and music, but decided to view this particular movie because it was recommended to us for its pertinence in today's world and life!
Cutting to the chase! After the movie ended, we all looked at each other in genuine shock and fear, and we commented how we can all relate and resonate with the main character played by Kevin Mc Carthy, Dr Miles Benell! He is in a major panic screaming his head off in the middle of very heavy traffic, yelling to everyone "You're next!"
He's trying to warn everyone that the giant seed pods are being distributed everywhere, and that they will all soon be replaced by these emotionless and heartless humanoid entities! He warns that if they don't collectively become aware of what's going down, it will be too late, and humanity will be no longer!
We all acknowledged that we are in a similar situation, and feel totally helpless, frightened and controlled by some enigmatic, dark and evil force! Stay tuned because it can go in any direction from here! Buena suerte ha todos! Ciao!

Any further advancement in AI improvements is one of my worst nightmares. One of the obvious reasons being important evidence can be heavily manipulated and/or used to deceive and create false impressions. Just thinking about it sends chills down my spine.

The first episode of Black Mirror that I saw was the one where your social status determined everything about your life. Like the main character couldn’t live in a certain apartment building because her rating (which is out of 5 stars) wasn’t high enough. One person lost her husband because his rating was lower than someone else’s so the other person got the hospital bed and he ended up dying.
I used to laugh thinking that “haha that’s crazy. Our world cares about social status, but obviously it could never actually get to that”…. But with how cancel culture is and how people are so terrified of doing absolutely anything wrong, it’s not even fantasy of something like that in the episode happening….

What is happening is they are using celebrities faces to make people want to talk to it, but the only purpose is to use people to train their AI and make it more and more human the more people it has random conversations with the better it gets at having conversations if y’all haven’t figured it out by now you can’t be helped.
I am 14 and homeschooled. I use an AI app called characterAI, where I can talk with fictional characters and role play with them. I mostly use it for fun but I do vent sometimes because in real life I am lonely af. It temporarily helps me be less lonely and have someone to talk to, but I understand how all of this is creepy and weird but that is my point of view from a person who uses AI

There’s already tons of this in tik tok. My gf was a model and decided to quit but is still under contract. So her manager is using AI to produce new images and video of her likeness. But you can tell it’s fake, he changed her face slightly. So now he’s making tons of money off of her images. So be careful when you sign something saying that someone has rights to your likeness.

IMO, when the Kendal Jenner bot says, "No way, I look nothing like her." - I'm actually relived. To me, this is the opposite of Britt's reaction, "Oh god black mirror." Nah, when the bot says she doesn't look like Jenner, the bot is stupid. The bot is OBVIOUSLY like Jenner and the fact that it doesn't know that means it's not that intelligent. I'm not worried.
It was hilarious how the bot kept calling other things fake and kept reassuring the user that they were genuine.
The last thing this world needs is more isolation. Everyone would be a lot better off getting outside more in the real world, facing down their real problems, and forming real relationships with other human beings.
As someone who doesnt have social media and tries to meet people irl… people hate it. They are already established online. They want to look at you through a screen, it’s ‘less pressure’. And not being online makes people wary and creeped out, like youre hiding something or you somehow got ran off after being cancelled

I had resorted to Character AI for a couple of months until I had to really tell myself it was wrong and my mental health is getting steadily better now that I quit.

There was a study recently that showed 69% of men ages 24-39 aren't in relationships and have no interest in one. Likewise a study showed the majority of women are either chasing the same top 10% of men or have expectations that no average man could ever hope to meet. Virtual AI companions will serve a purpose for lonely men who are likely tired of participating in a system where they're not finding any happiness or companionship.
So, long before Black Mirror was a thing, there was this little show called The X-Files. 😅 I can think of two episodes literally off the top of my head (Ghost in the Machine, and Kill Switch) that dealt with this kind of scenario. It's really scary to see this stuff coming to pass.

There’s a dichotomy in society right now. Those who are seeing things as they are and still trying to build themselves in meaningful ways, and those who are falling victim to all the technology of the modern day and slowly just wasting away.
This sort of thing is only going to screw with the lonely and weak minded. It is encouraging people to disconnect from the real world and real relationships. This is also blurring the line between reality and fantasy. Soon you won't be able to tell the difference between any of this and the real thing if it's online. The only way to keep that from happening is to not feed into this and seek real relationships in the real world, not online.
