I think people hating on the original ost are missing the point of this scene. They probably wanted a more “hype” theme to accompany this scene but we’re not suppose to be hype for eren’s transformation but rather more fearful of what’s to come so the original ost captured that feeling instead.
Not only that, even if you are "hype", it does the job of making you guess what's next in the moment, throwing you off a little when the handshake seems like it may be genuine.
the Vogel im Kafig also have the tearful, despair and revenge feelings like Eren were right now, Its maybe because they don't want to recycle old ost same like Fairy tail ost
I laughed at the bango’s at first, but then Eren popped out of that building and the music ended up being my favourite version because not only was it unique, (making it more memorable) it felt like everything was changing at that point.

4st 2An really fits a lot to the whole thematic. This is neither a sad and nostalgic moment nor a heroic and super hypey one , it's basically Eren's quick answer to Willy's declaration of war. Here it's not about betrayal like in the scene of Reiner and Berthold's transformation when they used youseebiggirl. It shows how now Eren is colder and calculative, instead of incredibly emotional and naive like he was back then. He now knows who his enemies are and knows what to do. This ost has that ominous yet powerful instrumental which shows how Eren is right now. Plus, other soundtracks with longer parts like Vögel im Käfig, or youseebiggirl ruin the suspense, which is why I think 4st 2An and the one they used on the anime with the drums actually fit pretty well
Yeah I think 4st 2An is a good choice because it has a slow start, it fits the scene that comes before it with Reiner asking Eren to kill him, and transitions perfect into a crescendo.
The one from the anime sucks. I mean, suspense or not, there's 0 emotion given with it. Only writted way, without flavor. But I agree, 4st 2An is excellent one. It gives the feeling that he has to do it, and concentrate the fact that even this situation is deplorable, he will not regret.
I actually liked the original music. The only thing that bothered me was that fog when Eren hits the stage,it left me so confused on what had just happened

I admit, the music edits here really do enhance the scene especially "You Seen Big Girl" and "ApeTitan" I think those fits so damn well without sacrificing Eren's roar. But I think to emphasize the point that Eren is the villain now, the music they had by default needed to be low-key to hear Eren's vengeful roar.
I disagree. The reason why the various music in this video interferes with the scene is because it wasn't edited properly. Re-watch Reiner and Berthold's reveal again and see what I mean.
I feel like I'm the minority that was very glad they didn't use YouSeeBigGirl. That theme was epic with the Reiner and Bertolt reveal because it conveyed just how devastated and betrayed Eren felt, accompanied by the vocal latter half (which is why I was disappointed when it was used for Eren activating the coordinate as opposed to its namesake track). This scene closer parallels the fall of wall maria so something more bone-chilling or fear-stricken would be better like 4st 2An or ApeTitan. I definitely LOVE these compilations to see everyone's interpretation of the music but people should also realize that the OST is layered after the animation and they needed to use tracks that fit within the time of the scene without cutting off the song prematurely otherwise it sounds very half-done (ex. K2- and 3Spens). Honestly, the original track was suitable since they used two tracks to avoid music being inconsistent with the scene. In my opinion, though, I feel like a new track would have been great to evoke a more unique emotion that removes itself from the "Paradis" tracks.
They teased the track in episode 4. So I along with other people thought they were gonna use it which they should of. The music makes the scene more impactful. That track they used was garbage the roar too was shit.

I agree that they should have had something new. I was really hoping to hear something new drop for such a scene since AOT has such an amazing track record of having scenes like this reveal amazing new OST
There's a good reason why people say YouSeeBigGirl fits better, but most of them are manga readers and as a such felt disappointed for the track they used. Regardless, I don't think the song they used was bad but rather not the best suited.
The original sound is the best one. The other soundtracks sound too "heroic", making it seem like he's doing the good thing, when it actually should be left to the viewer to decide whether Eren's actions are morally good or not. Some of the OSTs are pretty good too, but they make the scene look a bit "off". The original one really makes you think how the tables turned, Eren is giving Marleyans the hell they've given him back when Reiner and Berthold attacked Shigashina.

I don't know, all of these OST don't seem to fit the situation. Eren was talking about them being the same, that there are also good people here and led you to believe he might not transform and cause havoc, but this music just makes it inevitable, like it's expected for him to transform and there is no tension if he will or not. Original OST was maybe less hype, but it didn't make you assume what will happen next, while if hype music starts playing, you already know what's going to happen and then the surprise factor is gone.
That's an important factor that manga readers don't really have a perspective on cuz they know what's gonna happen. I love that anime onlies could've experienced it like this
I’ll have to disagree because when I read the manga we know before hand Willy was doing this to draw eren out and the tension of the scene started at the start of Willys speech and every passing second build the tension up and I think a soundtrack longer than 10 seconds should have been playing much earlier slowly building to the big moment
By "assuming what will happen next", you mean the obvious event that will proceed? No one would doubt that Eren was going to rampage everything, we just didn't know exactly how. The OST used didn't hide that shit was about to go down, it just didn't help mark it forever in our memories with a impactful song.

It was either this one of 4st 2an, Attack on Titan is accurate all the way to the lyrics 'is that the desroyer, or is it our creator' a complete analysis of what Eren is in this moment, both sides demon and saviour of his people. But 4st an gives a more tragic vibe, and possibly is a more accurate representation of how Eren is about to do the very things that were once done to him, becoming a monster.

Holy shit it's not just about how much you like a song, it's about putting something that fits the emotions conveyed. These are all out of context, with the exeption of Apetitan maybe. Maybe this scene would be epic with 'You say run' as well, but it doesn't mean shit. It would just feel out of context if heard in the episode.

That is correct, but by that logic 2Volt or at least that part of 2Volt does not fit for the context either considering it's the heroic part of the OST that was used in the declaration rather than it's most tragic.
I don’t really mind all that much, but the ost they used really didn’t fit. Not to say YSBG does either, it’s just disappointing to see how such a big moment was executed. Either way, I’m just grateful that we’re getting a 4th season, but that doesn’t mean it’s beyond it’s criticism. So far it seems like it’s been going flawlessly outside of this.
You can really feel how OSTs can greatly control the message of the scene. If you show this video to those who don't follow the series, they may reach different conclusions. Take for example 4:03, it feels like Eren, as the protagonist, has triumphantly destroyed his enemies yet also at 2:42 it feels like Eren is the antagonist. However at 1:21, it feels a large dude just want to dance on the stage.
4st 2An really got me, when he transformed, all these years we have been watching this anime and eren's road to "revenge" just plays in a montage in my head.

From the nine OST's, the ones that could fit were 4st 2An, Apetitan if used with the correct volume and synchronization, K2- if synchronized correctly because it gives some drama and its perfect as the final scene of the episode and Vogel im Kafig.
Forget YouSeeBigGirl! This was by far the best choice 4:19 It sounds extremely melancholic but retains a triumphant feel. Also, it's super underused ost and a really good one

The original sound is the best one. The other soundtracks sound too "heroic", making it seem like he's doing the good thing, when it actually should be left to the viewer to decide whether Eren's actions are morally good or not.
Some of the OSTs are pretty good too, but they make the scene look a bit "off".
The original one really makes you think how the tables turned, Eren is giving Marleyans the hell they've given him back when Reiner and Berthold attacked Shigashina.

I don't know, all of these OST don't seem to fit the situation. Eren was talking about them being the same, that there are also good people here and led you to believe he might not transform and cause havoc, but this music just makes it inevitable, like it's expected for him to transform and there is no tension if he will or not. Original OST was maybe less hype, but it didn't make you assume what will happen next, while if hype music starts playing, you already know what's going to happen and then the surprise factor is gone.
That's an important factor that manga readers don't really have a perspective on cuz they know what's gonna happen. I love that anime onlies could've experienced it like this

I’ll have to disagree because when I read the manga we know before hand Willy was doing this to draw eren out and the tension of the scene started at the start of Willys speech and every passing second build the tension up and I think a soundtrack longer than 10 seconds should have been playing much earlier slowly building to the big moment
By "assuming what will happen next", you mean the obvious event that will proceed? No one would doubt that Eren was going to rampage everything, we just didn't know exactly how. The OST used didn't hide that shit was about to go down, it just didn't help mark it forever in our memories with a impactful song.

[Edit: if my wording was poor, I meant that I think before and right when Eren started transforming in the room, the music worked well. It was either this one of 4st 2an, Attack on Titan is accurate all the way to the lyrics 'is that the desroyer, or is it our creator' a complete analysis of what Eren is in this moment, both sides demon and saviour of his people. But 4st an gives a more tragic vibe, and possibly is a more accurate representation of how Eren is about to do the very things that were once done to him, becoming a monster.

Take for example 4:03, it feels like Eren, as the protagonist, has triumphantly destroyed his enemies yet also at 2:42 it feels like Eren is the antagonist. However at 1:21, it feels a large dude just want to dance on the stage.
