Love the update.. 2 things.. love to no about your CUC.. who's looking after your sand or aptatia or cleaning the fish.. & loved the feral frag. Brought a 12 pack cos of last video. But I noticed the 1 you did last week 👍
Hey mate, my cleanup crew consists of about 50 turbo snails ... i never bought one, just got as a hitchhicker and they bred. I also have a sandsifting star, think ill add a second though. Theres a few Nassarius snails snails in there too. For aptaisia iv had luck with a group of about 7 peppermint shrimp, they definitely eat the little ones, for big ones though manual removal is the only way.
Thx. For the reply. Trying to say love a video of the cuc. Feel they don't get enough love in the hobby. & they do so much. & every tank needs them. & again , can't wait for my feral frags .
I have bubblegum, forest fire and pink smoothie, they are all unique. I think bubblegum is a colour variant that has much brighter green tips and whiter skin. The pink smoothie has pinker polyps and dark green skin. The forest fire can get brighter green skin under lower light but I find it does not compare the the toxic green of bubblegum. If you check my tank tour video you can see the difference as they are all next to each other.
Careful real listenly?? Reefers are certainly an inventive bunch!! 😄 Hard to fathom it's been 6 months! I remember waiting month after month for updates in when you were doing the install, and now it's well and truly settled. And looking sweet, I might add! 👌
Awesome reef can't wait for it to grow out. There's quite a few types of digitata. Bubblegum, forest fire, normal orange, and you get burning ember where the tips stay orange they don't white out as it grows.
Looks amazing mate! In my experience fish that don’t eat pellets or flakes will absolutely go for Ocean Nutrition ‘prime reef flakes’ and at ~60% protein they don’t need too much
@@ReefNerd it has a pretty impressive ingredients list which is how I chose it. The flakes are large and crunchy too, even my Tuskfish can eat them, and the smaller fish eat the bits I crumble up.
Bubble Gum is not Digi - it's Samarensis. Maybe in Australia it's different. Real Forest Fire should have yellow where it's growing (tips) but mine hasn't been happy for ages and so haven't seen it. I love the green base and the red - bubble gum is definitely more vibrant - maybe too vibrant for me.
Yes they are picky eaters and need meaty foods like brine, mysis, or over time can be transitioned to high protein soft small pellets. I feed my tank 3-4 times a day as Anthias need to eat throughout the day and wont last on just 1-2 feedings.
Nice looking great colour sps man! I have just got a frag of pink milli, red acro. They turned green in 2 weeks. Parameters are in check. Low No3 po4. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks mate
Red acros and millis inparticular are desperate for light, they really need to be baked to bring out those colors. What lights are you running and do you have them in the highest point of your tank? Even that said, many red sps will green out after a change (moving into your tank for example) give them some time and they might come back to color
@@ReefNerd thanks man. I have orphek v4. They are on top about 350 par at the moment. Looks Good PE out just start to green out. I ll give it more time. Cheers
How are you planning on cleaning the back glass. It’s always a pain for me going in there with a razor blade since the magnetic cleaners don’t really work back there.
Great questions! My super complex strategy for this is.... ignore it haha Unless it gets so bad that it becomes ugly and I really feel the need to clean it, I wont.
for me that roller mat is not ok hhh. Your dirt side of mat is almost clean... sensor pulling too clean mat from water. For me that is waste of mat and spending money for nothing :)
your looking at the clean side of the matt not the dirty side, but yes its not working properly at the moment, its pulling to the side allowing too much water to bypass the mat, but its not spinning much as a result so its not wasting any mat
The bubblegum is definately a unique breed.
yea the consensus in the comments certainly seems to agree with you, I hope mine grow out to be clearly different to my forestfire digi

Wow nice tank! Some great eye candy in there
Awesome thanks
Looking amazing Marcus! I must ask, what is the purple and yellow fish at 8:29 next to the Dallas?
the big one that swam over the top is a Lineatus Wrasse. The smaller one below it is a Ventralis Athias
You should do a little all in one frag tank, will clean up you display nicely and give you some redundancy.
potentially, iv thought about it, but dont wanna maintain another water volume, so id plumb it into the main system

Great update mate. Got room for another reactor down below ;)
Yup! There is ALWAYS room for one more!
Can you do a video on the reef rites and kessils. I saw the par testing however I’d like to know how much of a difference they make as a combo

There is some new AF coral food called AF Power Elixir, it doesn’t need to be refrigerated it can be hooked up to a doser
Yea I saw the announcement on that, looking forward to trying it!
they are completely different , i have 2 growing side by side. very different corals if bubble gum is true
awesome good to hear, interesting to see what mine looks like when it grows out next to my forest fire
What reefbrite strips do you use?
How are you finding keeping the anthills? Do you need to feed them multiple times a day?
Yes they are picky eaters and need meaty foods like brine, mysis, or over time can be transitioned to high protein soft small pellets. I feed my tank 3-4 times a day as Anthias need to eat throughout the day and wont last on just 1-2 feedings.
What are you going to do when all those frags grow in?
theres ALWAYS room for more haha... but i imagine ill be fragging and trading for corals i dont have
Gonipora don’t see to like being down flow or next to leathers and particularly toadstools.
yea i have just one leather in the tank, a devils hand leather I keep in the back right hand corner

You could try the flipper credit card scraper they come in couple sizes
It hasn't been 6 months already?
pretty much has! like 2 weeks shy of it
6 months wtf 😳 how the hell did that happen lol
i was surprised too!
