So sad to watch this. Such a beautiful song. Sleep softly, Justin.
Love that song. Rest in peace JTE
Never hurts to have the wonderful McCrary Sisters singing with ya'!
Beautiful !
That ending brings a tear to my eyes
This man and The Avett Brothers were by far the best 2 acts of the AMA's
Always the best taken way too soon. Rest easy big bro!
Rip loved your music for so long
Classic. Wish there was more to come.
What a brilliant soul, breaks my heart …
I was backstage during the 2009 Americana Awards show where JTE won the Emerging Act category (one of three categories he was nominated in, out of a total of four he was eligible for), and he, though a quiet and reserved guy, was a presence that night. Everyone was fussing over him and wanted to talk to him.
T'was a glorious night! Rest
We all have our struggles. Rip
damn justin! proud mama!
Your daddy knows you tried kiddo. Rest well buddy.
Too bad his Dad didn't try better to take care of him & his Mom. They lived in poverty because of him, so he's as much to blame as Justin. I don't give a shit what anyone says. Do some research if you don't believe me.
Bad shit happened but he triumphed regardless...all this great music
Broke my heart
Anyone Buddy Miller hasn't played w?
Buddy Miller!
First thing I thought, too!
Don Was on bass
Don always looks cooler n hell
JTE's troubled days are behind him now, unfortunately for us and his family.
Is that comedian Jeff Ross on Lead Guitar?
Nope, that's Buddy Miller
Compare this performance with the David Letterman performance with Jason Isbell, there is no comparison. This version does not do this song justice. RIP Justin, you were the real deal.
This version seems a little slowed down and listless to me. It suffers in comparison to the Letterman version, and Buddy Miller's guitar work is sloppy and uninspired. In fact, I'd gainsay Buddy never even rehearsed this track. His parts seem thrown together. I love JTE but this is far from the best version of this he's done.
sorry to disagree, its the audio mix on this one that not great! the Letterman performance is a great sounding mix...
You wouldn't say that if you were in the Ryman. It was amazing to hear it in person and then the song won Song of the Year, very special.
I guess he meant it. What a waste. Drugs have taken so many artists and my beautiful niece's death from opiates.
