Well, maybe it's not the best solution. In my experience CA glue (as long as it isn't the super expensive industrial grade waterproof stuff) doesn't hold up very long when it constantly gets wet. On my RC Boats little details kept falling of until someone told me to not use CA for that. But I'm quite curious to see how long it holds up as a wood finish because it is just so simple to apply.
Ryan Petzoldl It may have had something to do with the material you were sticking it to. Like HDPE, I've not found anything to stick 2 pieces of that together! Also, since you stopped using CA glue on the boats what do you use now?
In this case it wasn't due to the material choice. It was like PS to PS or ABS, so normally it would stick like hell. But you're right. There are materials that are a real pain to glue or paint. I once tried to spraypaint a Bobby Car, which is made of PE...didn't go so well. There are many factors that determine which glue I use: -If I plan on painting it afterwards I still use CA -for things that are easier to paint before assembly and that get really wet (like bollards e.g.) I use pins to align them and then UHU all purpose glue, or epoxy. -If the plastic is still unfinished also special glue that chemically welds the parts work fine. But these ruin the surrounding paint.
Great idea, great design, and great video. Eric adds a lot to mix, really like the new background music, and the humour is awes-AND IN THE PLACE WHERE YOU LIVE.
I know you're a maker, and I know your videos are maker related, but the filmic quality of the shot at 0:35 outside Bed Bath & Beyond might be the most beautiful thing I've seen all day. Eric needs a beer for that one
That was fun to watch, David! Lots of ways to get it done but I really appreciated the way you approached the project. Great meeting you at Saunders' place and it was fun talking about your Dad's old car. Best wishes, Tom Z
I love this idea, might have to try it myself sometime Did you leave the bottle's cap shut? If so, you might want to open it (if the hole you drilled is as tight as it looked), to let air in. You might have gotten away with fewer pumps if you'd had a vent!
And how many years will you have without looking for new soap for your kitchen? You made my morning. I had a good laugh about your video. Keep on and make something.
Hey!!! The email I got last night had the phrase "bottomless dish soap dispenser", and that soap bottle clearly had a bottom. I also can't believe there was no "p-p-p-pump it up" audio in there. :) Great project as usual, David.
the razors dollar shave club sends you are made by dorco pace. they are pretty good and any handle fits any cartridge so you can experiment with how many blades you need. I'd recommend 3 blades max though.
Greetings from Dayton! Thanks for including Eric more in your videos now dude! You guys make a good team and it's nice to see the guy behind the camera.
Awesome video! You probably have a whole "small bottle" of soap in the tube. From the moment you bought the tube, I was waiting to see how long it was going to take to charge the tube. Thanks for sharing!!!
Cool little project. I find it a little funny that just a few aisles over in the Home Depot from where he was you can buy a soap dispenser for your sink similar to this. But now you don't need to! You can make your own!
Came across your channel while trying to get some beginner tips on woodworking, saw you wearing a 419 area code T-Shirt and realized you were local. That's AWESOME I hope to see you at your meet and greet in June!
I resubbed Dave! You really found your groove. Vey funny. Good vibe! "Sand in the place where you live". Can do that more. Accompanying musical notes/quotes to shopproblems! I like it. Also liked how you measure the length of the duckneck. I can relate as sometimes i do the same. Way to go. Greetz from The Netherlands.
I love how your editing style is evolving! Do you or Eric do the actual editing? Also, how much is Joakim Karud killing it with music for youtube videos?!
Love it! The only improvement I think would be to have found way to screw the pump onto the wood. That way, if/when the pump fails, you don't have to make a whole knew one... or deal with ripping it off and cleaning up all that nasty Guerilla Glue. Of course, by the time it fails, they probably won't make that model pump anymore and you'll just have to make a whole knew one anyway. So you're probably fine 🤓👍
You need an in line check valve to stop the hand wash flowing back down into the pipe. I use a cheap aquarium one. You may also need an extra hole in the bottle to stop it collapsing under vacuum.
I have been using this method for a couple years (we even use the same Kirkland soap). I just remove the cap from the bottle and stick the tube in. But the tubing curls up and leaves about 1/4 of the bottle with soap still in it. Does your tubing curl at the bottom? Any suggestions on how to stop my tubing from curling?
Nice project. I hope that pump lasts awhile, I've bought quite a few of those cheap dispensers over the years and most all wind up in the recycle bin. Even some expensive soap dispensers use the cheap pump.
great idea! perhaps one of your upcoming videos could be a walking cane? I'm interested in building one and the videos I have found aren't very detailed.
I was considering doing something like this in my kitchen, only I wanted hand soap instead of dish soap. The little kits you can buy to add a dispenser to your sink suck. This would be perfect. Also, tell Dollar Shave Club to offer different color razors, maybe they'll listen to you, so you and your wife can tell your razors apart easier.
When it said "endless" I thought you would have a straight pipeline to the soap factory, I feel robbed! Haha! Great build David!
Just in case the view numbers are not showing this yet, I hope you know that the new "fun with Eric" video style is terrific.
Thank you!!
Couldn't agree more!
I also love when they make the hater comments before the haters can make the comments!! GOLD
Never thought to use CA glue for water protection! Fantastic idea David!
Thanks Ryan!

Did you know that I started Makers & Shakers back up! Yep, it's on my second channel: ruclips.net/video/k7-rtdcoQJA/видео.html
Make Something cool!
So glad you started it back up! Love that show!
Make Something awesome!
Love the Makers and Shakers David!
Great idea, great design, and great video. Eric adds a lot to mix, really like the new background music, and the humour is awes-AND IN THE PLACE WHERE YOU LIVE.
Great video David working wonders with his wood and the money shot at the end👌. Nice to see a change of scenery from the basement to the kitchen.
Really pumped about this one!
The "sand in the place where you live" thing makes me laugh every single time
It's not getting old yet? :)
I'm all in favour of a long-standing repetitive joke (especially when it involves REM)
It gets that damn song stuck in my head EVERY TIME! But I still laugh... xD
Gets me too - love it
Agreed. That sing came on the radio the other day an work. I burst into laughter at which point I had to explain why...yea the think I'm crazy...
The CA glue as a finish is a great tip! Congrats on the new sponsor too! 👍 -Tim
Got to love your precise approach to this project, seriously though I love your videos.
I know you're a maker, and I know your videos are maker related, but the filmic quality of the shot at 0:35 outside Bed Bath & Beyond might be the most beautiful thing I've seen all day. Eric needs a beer for that one
+Robin Lewis that was a great shot! Eric has a great eye!
Awesome project!! I also love the fun you have while making the projects and videos, your passion really comes through!!!
Right on, thanks Tim!
This is a great idea David! One of my soap pumps just took the dirt nap too. So I'm totally making this. Thanks!
This is probably one of my favorites, especially you and Eric interacting, just having fun. And the bandsaw artwork is amazing 👍🏼
That was fun to watch, David! Lots of ways to get it done but I really appreciated the way you approached the project. Great meeting you at Saunders' place and it was fun talking about your Dad's old car.
Best wishes,
Tom Z
I've never seen, using the glue to make the wood water prof. that's an awesome idea. Great video.
That my man is GENIUS! I always complain about having to fill mine. I know what my next project is now. Thank you, Mike.
I love this idea, might have to try it myself sometime
Did you leave the bottle's cap shut? If so, you might want to open it (if the hole you drilled is as tight as it looked), to let air in. You might have gotten away with fewer pumps if you'd had a vent!
Ah, great tip!
Alex W. , I was thinking the same!
Haha yeah, I was thinking that too but then wondered where is the air hole on the regular pump bottle?
Super neat project. Very different from your usual projects, but still rad. Thank you.
Laughed (out loud) on the second of the freeze-frame eye through whole shots. Good stuff!
Haha nice shower detail, cool project, sometimes simple builds can be just as interesting!
Every project you do is just fantastic and your video style is just stellar
+Promods right on, thank you!
Me likey ! ...and for the record, I've been using Dollar Shave Club for about 3 years now.
Paul Meyette No, for the record you hear it from David today and ordered it right away. ;)
Eric great camera work. Loved the shot in front of BB&B . Keep it up guys.
I thought I watched your channel for the woodworking, but now I realize I watch it because I enjoy laughing at your funny sidekick cameraman.
Really like DIY content like this , a nice change from the usual wood working projects. Keep it up !
This vid was super fun - I love the style and humour. Thanks David!
I've ruined my Thursday watching this on a Wednesday... Oh well!
Watch it again tomorrow! ;)
Sammmeeeee
I really like this idea. Too bad my granite is missing a hole for this.
Hah, the sand and grass bit was hilarious! Loving the new style.
That coconut palm is so dreamy! 🤤
Man that is an awesome idea, i don't know why it hasn't been done already. Love your work dude.
Awesome work again David. Love your videos.
And how many years will you have without looking for new soap for your kitchen?
You made my morning. I had a good laugh about your video.
Keep on and make something.
that's actually a very smart and great looking solution!
This was a fun video. Very enjoyable to watch. Nice work.
You make this look easier that installing your own catheter! Love it! Will have to show the wife.
So ballin bro!! You never seize to amaze me. Super awesome job.
love how you put the coconut palm in there, and i like the interactions with eric.
One of my fav youtuber....you're awesome! Nice project.
Man, I love your videos! Original stuff and great ideas. Real inspiration! Cheers
sweet Jesus this in an amazing idea! this is happening in my house asap. Thanks for the great idea!
I've been wanting one of those dust mask. Thanks for the discount RZDavid :) You saved me $7.18.
+Jesse Moree right on!
Hey!!! The email I got last night had the phrase "bottomless dish soap dispenser", and that soap bottle clearly had a bottom. I also can't believe there was no "p-p-p-pump it up" audio in there. :) Great project as usual, David.
I think this deserves a re-edit!!
Good stuff, David!
Clever! Turned out nice!
the razors dollar shave club sends you are made by dorco pace. they are pretty good and any handle fits any cartridge so you can experiment with how many blades you need. I'd recommend 3 blades max though.
Yall are awesome man. I love your videos, keep it up!!!!
Greetings from Dayton!
Thanks for including Eric more in your videos now dude! You guys make a good team and it's nice to see the guy behind the camera.
Hey neighbor! Thanks! I'll be at the Dayton Maker Faire in a couple of months!
Make Something awesome! I'll come check ya out brother. Is it cool if I bring a board of box elder wood? I haven't seen ya work with that yet?
I can't say no to that!
great! I'll see ya there! I like your style man. You're funky and fresh and a good teacher for us newcomers. Keep it up playa!
Awesome video!
You probably have a whole "small bottle" of soap in the tube. From the moment you bought the tube, I was waiting to see how long it was going to take to charge the tube.
Thanks for sharing!!!
Such a great idea and looks super.
With gravity flow do you need a splitter to prevent the soap from escaping down the tube? Thank you. Love the idea.
My container is
Cool little project. I find it a little funny that just a few aisles over in the Home Depot from where he was you can buy a soap dispenser for your sink similar to this. But now you don't need to! You can make your own!
This Thursday came early!
I think that was a subliminal message.
This was a very cool idea!
Clever idea. Good job on the videos lately too.
Very nice David!!!!
I think I learned more from this video then my woodshop class
Came across your channel while trying to get some beginner tips on woodworking, saw you wearing a 419 area code T-Shirt and realized you were local. That's AWESOME I hope to see you at your meet and greet in June!
+Tim Brakefield hi neighbor! See you in June!
Your videos are hilarious. Great to watch.
Nice work man.

you just made a better mouse trap!!! BRILLIANT.... Will for sure be adding the longer hose to mine!!! thank you sir
Thanks David, this is a great idea! Totally going to make one for my house.
I resubbed Dave! You really found your groove. Vey funny. Good vibe! "Sand in the place where you live". Can do that more. Accompanying musical notes/quotes to shopproblems! I like it. Love this build, what a great idea Dave 👍👍👍
Cool project, will have to make one for my sink!
I believe they sell soup despenser nozzles at Lowe's/Home Depot. Probably cheaper than buying the bottle to hold the soap at BBB.
I love how your editing style is evolving! Do you or Eric do the actual editing? Also, how much is Joakim Karud killing it with music for youtube videos?!
+EvanAndKatelyn for now I'm doing all the editing. And yes, Joakim is killing it!
i love these little projects!!
Is turning the coconut hard? seems like a pretty solid wood. Wondering how it would do turning into a pen. Love the look
Love it! The only improvement I think would be to have found way to screw the pump onto the wood. Very cool David, thanks!
Hot dog, that is 1 fancy dust mask!
Apart from it not having LEDs i love this project! ;)

What an excellent Idea!
Enjoyed this. Good work.
Good idea Dave!
great job David thanx 4 sharing!
Fun customization idea: Make the extension tube out of the same material as the countertops if they're something like Corian
I have been using this method for a couple years (we even use the same Kirkland soap). I just remove the cap from the bottle and stick the tube in. But the tubing curls up and leaves about 1/4 of the bottle with soap still in it. Does your tubing curl at the bottom? Any suggestions on how to stop my tubing from curling?

great as always 😁!
Very Nice Dave.
Dr. Carvey's Easy Shave BUTTAAA!!
Fun choice of wood :)
Great idea, man!
Rob from Threadbanger should try this >:)
I agree!
love the new music lovelovelovelove
This video started out looking super easy to wayyyyyy advanced when he got to the wood part 😂😂😂😂😂. Great video though!
great idea!
perhaps one of your upcoming videos could be a walking cane? I'm interested in building one and the videos I have found aren't very detailed.
Great video! Loved it.
Super Nice Super Dave! Pow!...lolz...Much Luv Bruddah'!! Have A Super Week!.....Gus
You need silicone. Silicon is number 14 on the periodic table and is a metal that is used in computer chips.
One of my innumerable pet peeves.
Kyle Law we call it silidacockus. don't know how that started but have done it for ages. lol
Sillius Sodus
BeGamerSl no
Kyle Law You must be fun at parties.
Thanks to this video, I searched and played "Stand" by REM, then somehow ended up listening to mongolian throat singing. Worth it.
Very good idea. I'll be doing this in my house
Great idea... we have one on our sink, but it needs refilled all the time.
I was considering doing something like this in my kitchen, only I wanted hand soap instead of dish soap. The little kits you can buy to add a dispenser to your sink suck. This would be perfect.

Eric is rally cool haha!
You never said that we were just havin' fun so I am expressing my disgust with you using coconut palm.
I deserve that!
