Yellowjackets Season 2 Premiere: Cast Q&A | SHOWTIME
• Yellowjackets Season 2...
They way that Lauren can't stop smiling when watching Liv answer is utterly heartwarming. The respect and admiration this cast has for each other is unparalleled.
shoutout to that one fan destroying their vocal cords at every name lmao
That would be me lol
i have watched literally every single interview with the cast and creators of this show because i'm SO obsessed with it and the mythology surrounding it. the interviewer had it spot on when she said it's one of the best original ideas in a long time. haven't been this invested in a show in YEARS.
Im with you on this.
I agree. To Ricci’s point; it certainly shows how invested everyone is. It’s the best show maybe ever. The collective talent is beyond.
Hi Alex, could you please tell me what you mean by mythology surrounding it? Like conspiracy thoeries or you mean actual meaning of the word mythology? And if it is the latter, could you tell me a bit more about it? because it interests me a lot.
@@alisky8551 i mean the mythology of the show itself. the mysteries of it all. so yes like all the theories and such. they are building a whole new fictional world and i'm loving every part of it.
Same as you.
7:35 I love how julliette was the first person to speak up for simone and lauren❤
Samantha Hanratty shouted it before her
This cast is STACKED. Younger actors and veteran ones all in the same show, and yet the characters they play are consistent across the show's arc, and well thought out, with the two generations totally in tune with one another and the characters they portray. The mannerisms they share, the facial ticks (Sophie copying Juliette's lip biting habit, or Lauren Ambrose and Liv Hewson sharing Van's facial reactions and contortions), the comedic timing, the raw emotion they bring to the survivors,... it's such an incredible show. Juliette Lewis was playing these sort of "edgy" women characters DECADES before the trope became popular. She was unafraid to try things that were wild, confrontational, brash, and in her words "volatile". To see her well up over this cast and crew was truly touching. Those young women in the row in front of her are following her footprints through the wilderness and acing it, but I have to give Juliette her flowers for returning the acting once again. It's why I pushed past my squeamishness over the cannibalism aspect to watch this show, because I have yet to come across a project she's worked on that wasn't captivating and engrossing. This show delves into womanhood and the bonds between girls and women in ways I never imagined, with the frightening possibility of returning to a primal, tribal sort of harmony. I show watching shows about complicated, ugly, and dangerous women, because we see the veneer pulled back to the real gore underneath it all. They touch on all the earthy, unglamorous aspects of being a woman - menstruation, pregnancy, childbirth, the blood, guts, piss, and shit of surviving without the trappings of modern urbanity. You hardly see those realities portrayed in fictional stories based around a predominantly female cast, so I'm glad that the raw experience is being shown in all it's horrifying glory. One of the best series I've seen in decades.
This was beautifully written, i couldn’t agree more
sophie with the black hair and juliette look SO alike omg i can’t believe i couldn’t see it with her blonde hair????
if there was a 7 hour interview i would rewatch it 12 times to make sure I hear everything they said. this cast is incredible. I haven't loved a show this much in so long. I thought I lost my momentum for shows but this sparked it again.
„Im pregnant, that’s gonna be a nightmare“ lmao 🤣
Juliette crying omg.. love to see it. This show is truly like nothing else.
Made me cry too 😭
She cried on Kelly Clarksons show too. Iconic
@@aaronmurdoch7362 I was just going to say that I saw her cry on Kelly Clarkson to right after I had seen this interview so it seems like she's been crying a lot lately. I'm sure at her age she's very grateful
Notice that Melanie Lynskey got emotional, too. She also seems a very sweet and humble person.
@@karmaklutz True but it is crazy that her age would be a problem considering she is barely 50 years old. This industry needs to change its ageist attitude. I hope the success of this show helps to do that.
"If you haven't noticed, I've always had one foot out the door of this business."
That could not be more spot on for Juliette Lewis as an actress. ❤
Melanie crying with Juliette.... Aaaahh I am tearing up. 😭
The casting of the 90s and present day counterparts is truly phenomenal. Even in real life they are one in the same.
Love that Juliette shared that story of what it's like to be a woman in her industry, like any industry. And love that Elijah is there! What a cool ass dude.
Can we talk about whenever Melanie talks Sophie turns her head at her.
Christina Ricci is one of the greatest actresses of her generation. She is talented and she chooses unique roles. I often feel she is underrated and I am so glad she is being recognized and shown so much love.
Stop that but st the start where they come out and Sophie thatcher and Jasmine savoy do their lil close face chat it’s adorable 2:18
yesss omg
Sophie thatcher is so damn pretty my goodness
I heard this show is comparable to The Wilds, but Yellowjackets is waaaay better and obviously has a great cast and awesome music too
I watched season 1 of the Wilds. It was okay but nowhere near as good as Yellowjackets. I didn't even bother with season 2 of Wilds, but I was practically foaming at the mouth waiting for Yellowjackets season 2😅
@@suzybearheart530 Same. I fell asleep after the 2nd episode of The Wilds and woke up at the end of it, whereas with Yellowjackets, I have been counting down the days since it ended! And now, I cant even watch it bc I gotta wait to use a free trial!
the wilds was such a disappointment! it had a lot of potential but just ended up being a melodramatic slog. im glad yellowjackets exists, not just because its a great show, but also because it’s able to make up for a lot of the things the wilds screwed up
@@careless_daughter yeah, if I fall asleep to the 1st episode of a series like I did with (the Wilds) then I know it doesnt hold my attention.
But YELLOWJACKETS 🐝🐝🐝
THAT HAD ME AT CANNIBAL! Such an exciting season too, I look forward to resubscribing for my free 30 day trial by April 17th! So I wont be able to watch the 1st few episodes!
The wilds was okay, but it was trying to do too much. It felt kinda all over the place
30 minutes is too short for this many cast members, 😂 but who cares, I enjoyed seeing them in and out of characters.
Omg the way modern Natalie and Juliette Lewis are the same person 😂😂😂
i love watching these interviews and it surprises me every time hearing the different accents you wouldn't catch them in the show at all
Natural Born Killers is one of my favorite movies. Juliette is bringing some raw Natural Born Killers realness to this role. I love everyone in this series!!!
My new TV addiction. You are all so incredibly talented. Thanks for bringing these characters to vivid life.
24:28 Elijah's laugh 🤣🤣🤣
DO YOU WEAR WIGS? 🗣️❗🗣️🗣️❗🗣️❗🗣️📣📣📣📣📣
I love every single thing about this show and this cast so much.
Good to know we're not the only ones.
not even halfway through season 2 yet and praying it’s renewed for season 3 🫶🏼
@@itsoliviarose I’m pretty sure they’re scheduled for at least 5 seasons!
I liked how as teens they all crossed so many societal and ethical taboo thresholds (especially about murder, blood, guts and dealing with dead bodies) that as adults they have these "special skills" and off balance morality. Like a shell shocked soldier coming back home from war trying to rejoin civil society.
Juliette always looks on the edge of crazy even in real life. Those widening and shifting eyes.
Not in a bad way! Just in a funny way. I have a lot of respect for her and she is an incredible actor.
@@Living_a_spoonie_life because she's way too real and honest!!! so opposite to cynical Hollywood.
Poor Sophie, put on the spot, yet still managed to close it out very well
Thank you for uploading this Q&A I really enjoyed watching this segment 😀
hehe i love the sophies friendship Theyre just being silly
My son and I became obsessed with this show on Christmas Eve of 2021. Since then this show has become a staple in our home.
One of the best to hit TV.
This whole cast is so ICONIC and REAL and INVESTED in this show it's the most refreshing thing to watch every time. I find it funny how they say I feel spoiled working in such an amazing show and with such great support, cause I as a viewer feel INSANELY spoiled watching such an amazing show and such wonderful interviews of truly excited and invested actors, so much so that I don't think I can watch any other TV show interview in the same light ever again. Love those special folks sm 🥰
Yellowjackets stays being one of the best tv shows to exist right now and I absolutely enjoy watching to figure out the mystery behind what EXACTLY occurred from the period of 1996-1998. Not to mention Ella Purnell getting a shoutout!🐝⚽️🛩️💛🖤💙
THANK YOU FOR CREATING THIS MASTERPIECE ❤️🐝❤️🐝❤️🐝
Love this video. It’s so awesome and wholesome and the cast looks fabulous
This show is one of my favorite shows i've ever seen... it's everything I wanna see in a show, bad ass girls I grew up watching having the PERFECT younger cast for their characters... It's so perfect.. every character is amazing..
love this! thank you for sharing 💛🐝
Not being rude, but im not sure i rate this interviewer. "How has your lives changed from doing this show" is a pretty rubbish generic question. Provides no insight and is based on an assumption that this show has changed their lives.
Yellowjackets is brilliant, but some of these guys are really established actors. This is one of many amazing projects they have done (older actors talking about here, rather than the younger ones).
Amazing cast.
I absolutely love this show, its so amazing.
absolutely loed the first eps!! misty was so incredible!!
obsessed with their chemistry.
We are too.
We ALL Love Christina! 😍
THE ENTIRE CAST IS REMARKABLE!!!❤😎😍❤😎
Dang I am so excited for this season!!
Can we just take a second to point out how amazing every single one of the ladies look up there 😮❤❤😊
If Jackie had survived, I think Helena Bonham Carter would've been an ideal casting choice for an adult version of the character. At least in my opinion, which doesn't mean much.
gosh i love this show so much, cant wait for season 3 pleeeeeeeeeease
lol i thought Ashley was gonna say 'you dig a hole in your back yard, you put stakes in and lure those insecurities to that hole..'
Sophie Thatcher was great in Book Of Boba Fett and I’m excited to see her in The Boogeyman.
Courtney Eaton was really good in Mad Max Fury Road and she was so beautiful in Gods Of Egypt(2016).
Sophie Thatcher was amazing in Prospect (2018), a sci fi movie with Pedro Pascal
Living in the world of Linski... can't agree more!! ❤❤❤
👑
I am really happy amazing about yellowjackets season two
Just started watchn due to hearing Laura A was in it& NOW CANT step away. AMAZING acting from young2older Cast. 👌
Such a great show! Binging all the interviews with the cast❤
anyone else see Sophie Thatcher in the Harness your hopes Pavement music video she was awesome!
Omgg stop it’s one of my fave songs and I was randomly listening to it on Spotify one day. Then I saw the like video bit that plays and was like WAIT immediately came on yt to watch the music vid once I saw her and fell in love with the song even more 😭❤️
@@tsundere_gacha9259 it’s so good and so is she
sophie nelisse: 'i- i don't know what to say.. *nervous laugh*'.
Elijah wood in the background wont stop laughing😭😭😂
SLAY!
Parts of this video was very difficult to listen to due to the low mike volume by the speakers at the back row. Other than that - love this interview. Thank you.
I LOVE YELLOW JACKETS that is all
Why is Ella Purnell NOT sitting with the cast?! That's crazy that they put her in the audience?! WTF
Because she’s not part of this season overall
i think b/c she can’t really speak to her character anymore b/c her character is now an extension of shaunas psyche
She was/still is a big part of the show, I just think that's whack.
@Fin Fog she's in both episodes released so far
OMG i was looking for her shes in the audience!? we havent even seen adult van yet and shes up there. They did ella so dirty.
I thought I’d missed something with the older Van actor. There’s a bit of a meta thing going on here with that being revealed. This show has completely consumed me. If they pull off what my stoned brain thinks they’re going for this will go down as an all timer. It’s amazing that this is also showtime. It weirdly has such a similar thing to Dexter but I can’t exactly put my finger on why
there's ike three extroverts in this cast and I love it
Feral and violent in the best ways. 😄
The BEST.
Maenads in the Flesh 🏹🦌🍷
i’m mad we didn’t get to see ella in the audience
They should've let all of them talk..
the cast are all incredible but christina ricci really stands out for me in this show and in general
That’s my favs Adults and Teenagers cast 💙💙
would’ve been screaming my lungs out for courtney
Elijah's film "EVERYTHING IS ILLUMINATED" IS CLASSICALLY BEAUTIFUL & SO HEARTWARMING!💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋❤❤❤❤❤❤💋💋💋💋
im here for Juliette, but I love the whole cast and I wish to see Lauren more on tv.
Nice to see Julie the Lewis after a long time!!! 😍Loved her in "KALIFORNIA" With Brad Pitt as psycho😎❤
Also in "CAPE FEAR" and many more!!!😍😍
20:03 this but with warren too! i was shocked to find out he was in his 40s lol
Bart Nickerson is giving me Austin Powers vibes.
I don't think Natalie is dead. I think Misty had to play it off so they could get Lottie help. I think the drug she gave her will wear off Nat will wake up. Her acting mad at the panel was just perfect that way it's truly a shock when she is alive. She seen Javi out of guilt but no one else who died was with her on the plane.
but what about lottie appearing and telling her to “let it in”? what do you think that meant? i genuinely hope so because natalie’s such a tragic character and i really hoped to see her more just when she was begging to heal
Simone Kessel is an actual goddess
This interviewer usually does a great job but the way this panel was run rubs me the wrong way, kinda rude
Julia making Melanie cry 🥹💕
They really needed to turn up some of the microphones, rather than allowing people to just talk away and nobody can hear them
Really cool to see the creatives behind the scenes making this incredible show! I know the actors always get the limelight, but we've gotta spread the love. Very cool to see a trans woman on the writing team, we need more queer voices behind and in front of the camera. I mean, look at the cool stuff we get when that happens!
Don't think Bart has come out as a trans woman. I mean, they still use the name Bart.
Worked on the entire Season One and was sad l didn’t get to work on Season Two
what did you work on?
@@myong2206 ...every episode of the entire first season...
@@erinkyle5267 i meant what was your role in the production
@@myong2206 ...l worked Health and Safety with the cast so l was the one keeping them safe from COVID all day. Holding their things, making sure they had supplies, keeping crew at a proper distance...l was basically an assistant to each member of cast
@@erinkyle5267 is there anyone that’s not very nice? Or someone who’s particularly sweet?
Whens season 3 coming out
Now that the Roys have ridden off into the sunset, the Yellowjackets are now the undisputed rulers of the TV world.
Juliette was fried lmaoo
we don’t see enough of courtney bruh she hasn’t answered a single question
GREAT SERIES!!! GREAT FEMALE CAST!!!
THOSE ACTORS SHOULD SEE A FILM TO REMAKE WITH THEM. "A QUESTION OF SILENCE" DUTCH FILM OF 70'S. ALL FEMALE CAST.
Some PRODUCTION COMPANY SHOULD REMAKE IT FOR TODAY. 😍😍😍😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Ella should be sitting with them
2:20, 11:23
Why Not Have Ella Join "TheCast" on Stage as Well?!?
She's Still Appearing in Season2...🤔
if you are reading this coment and know... they did it D:
Desperate times...
Teen travis is so hot and coach Ben too😊😊😊
Where’s Mari, Akilah, Melissa and Crystal?
Showtime you shoule invest in PAPER GIRLS, you need good series to succeed
This moderators 🥴
Title music sequence is CREEPY!!!!
OMG Tawny is so beautiful
24:00 18:00 15:00
2:24 WILLIAM GOLDING WAS FOUND DEAD 🤣 -AGAIN-
The dude in the dress and hair
this is totally not relevant but you can 100% tell none of these girls are athletes because of the way their wrists dangle when they run in during the pep rally
