Equal parts survival epic, psychological horror story and coming-of-age drama, YELLOWJACKETS is the saga of a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness. Created and executive produced by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson (Narcos), the one-hour drama series stars Melanie Lynskey (Castle Rock), Oscar®, Emmy® and Golden Globe® nominee Juliette Lewis (Camping), Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Christina Ricci (Z: The Beginning of Everything) and Tawny Cypress (Unforgettable). Yes! and you could see Sophie felt so flattered hearing all that praise coming from Melanie, it was well deserved!
The casting of the older/younger versions was great. Each pair is believable as the being the same pair 25 years apart.
Was so surprised to hear Melanie Lynskey's NZ accent! Had no clue the American accent was a part of the role lol, she's amazing
Love Sammi’s energy in this, I think it’s so great when actors can deeply empathize with their characters even when they do horrible stuff, both her and Ricci are doing such cool stuff with Misty
08:30 It almost feels as if Christina is taking clues from Sammi's actual personality to put into the adult Misty, and the result is Christinas best performance ever, in my opinion.
@Nebuchadnezzar that's a good point, it didn't occur to me that Christina could have been taking mannerisms from the actress herself

This show is brilliant.. can’t wait for season 2
Major major props to everyone involved, I think all of their ideas and goals were met perfectly. I could totally tell that Sophie had studied Juliette's speaking style, it was so impressive to hear their dialogue matching up. I definitely felt like the flashbacks weren't "flashbacks" in a traditional sense and that a lot of care was taken to weave the storylines together. All the characters feel really humanized, even with Jackie and Misty having their flaws, none of them felt like they were just characters. They all felt like people, the kind of people you'd meet or be classmates/neighbors with.

these were such good questions!!!! the woman interviewing made things feel so natural and kept things moving when answers got repetitive or the actors may have felt stuck on a question. truly a joy and a pleasure to watch, especially now that season two is over and it's gonna be a minute before we get to see these lovely ladies on screen again :,)
These panels are the only things keeping me from having full withdrawal from this show.

I don’t understand the “Jackie’s a bitch” thing?? Because sure in the pilot and a couple scenes she’s bossy and controlling but she never actually did anything rly bad or self-centric to the point where it was obvious? I think Ella played her perfectly, because she had a human vulnerable side and she wasn’t that bad, she was just a 16 year old 😢
agreed, Jackie's a bit spoilt, a bit bossy like you say but in a way where she just seems to lack some self-awareness, she's hardly a bitch and is often very concerned about Shauna and her team. She didn't even react as badly as she could have to finding out about Jeff and was clearly just hurt, and she was often a voice of reason in the wilderness. She was one of the sanest and nicest of all the girls :D

I think compared to everything Shauna has done, Jackie was still quite reasonable. She had every right to be hurt. And she didn't force Shauna to be her friend, if Shauna was unhappy with the kind of relationship/friendship with Jackie she should have said something or stopped hanging out with her.
I agree with all the points being made here, also I never got the vibe that Jackie was a "bitch" or "bossy".
I agree during the pilot for sure. I found her quite lovable, and an inspiring leader tbh
But I agree with the actress that as more episodes passed, I can understand figuring that viewers would hate

i know exactly what sophie was talking about around here 36:12 with the scared of a heavily female cast, women are kind of made to be competitive with constant comparisons to other women. so glad this wasn’t the case for this show

First remember Melanie Lyndskey from two and half men.Her character had two sides to her even back then lol funny when I hear the accents now,I feel like their faking them for this instead of vice versa

Shannon Sossamon would have been excellent but the actresses who play both young and adult Lotte are 1/2 Maori. Adult Lotte has had to grow on me, though. Fairuza Balk would have been another great option for adult Natalie.

The girl who as a child screamed distracting her parents from driving into a collision, we saw her maid give her antipsychotic meds in pilot, she was baptized by the blonde girl then always lead the prayer or spiritual stuff after blonde girl died in plane.

@@NJGuy1973 Yes - they teased that she's essentially running a cult-like practice in the present day at the end of the last episode. We just don't really know the reason/motive quite yet.

I mean seriously how do you guys sleep at night? Oh that's right you probably don't I get it? You want to be famous and sell your soul or you put your name in the book of the beast you're rich you're famous but the problem is. That's only for here now. What about eternindeed? Jesus is the way the truth and the life. I'd rather spend a journey with him than the other guy
