I've made nearly 100 tote bags for a charity that needed them using this tutorial, I am so grateful for it, it's absolutely the best. I omit the top zip and outer pockets where costs need to be minimalized, but have also made the full version (sans top zip), it's absolutely superb. I'm a seasoned old sewer but still in awe at whoever first worked out how THAT is how you do the corners etc for a 3D bag, it's easy and the results are perfect! Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this!

I made this with some scrap fabric just to see if I could do it. It turned out very nice and the instructions are easy to follow. I used a heavy polyester blend fabric with cotton lining and lightweight fusible interface but mine did not stand up when finished like in the video. I think the fabric was to heavy for the lightweight interface. I still like it though. Next time I will try a cotton twill fabric, lightweight cotton lining and a medium weight fusible interface for a stiffer bag. I used regular zippers with a bottom stop and slider and didn't remove the slider and it still went together just fine. I enjoyed making this very much. Thank you.

Theirs didn't stand up all by itself either - if you look carefully they didn't let go of the handles and whenever we saw it appearing to stand it was always having a little "assistance" from them pulling up on the handles a bit. They'd used interfacing on the patterned fabric, but not the plain so that was alway going remain floppyand could not have held up rest without some industrial strength starch applied after the fact. The easy solution if you make it again is use a pretty firm interfacing for the base fabric and, if you want to help it even more, make an insert for the base. (I like to use something like plexiglass, hardboard or similar and make a matching fabric "sleeve" to pop it in so that it looks nice in the bottom of the bag. That way it can be made separately and put in the bag after it's finished and its easy to remove if I want to wash the bag.)
You could try a canvas or you could add Bosal or Byannie foam ( other makes are available). Foam really makes it stand up and I've done lots of those. I think I will try with scrap too as that zipper thing is brazen and I do do zippers by the yard but it takes a while- I'd do the zipper longer to start with. Love the video though

Love how easy you make the zipper by the yard pull addition so EASY !!! I love zipper by the yard and usually have mostly #5 and you are using #3 but I've found rarely does this work nearly as lovely as some Videos here on RUclips seem to demonstrate. I just made over 12 large #5 coil zippers by the yard for RV reupholstering cushions and some went together like a charm other ones were a battle of wit and patience. I also years ago ordered a group of different yards of #3 zipper coils and a group of their pulls. They sent the wrong pulls and no matter how I tried I could not get those dang pulls on the coils. Finally asked the seller and she knew what had happened somehow they had messed up the wrong pulls with several orders. She sent the right ones but for a few years I was down right scared of zippers by the yard. Now they have the most beautiful zipper colors and styles and pulls. I love the rainbow ones and so my collection has grown. Hubby likes zippers with teeth so I have those as well by the yard for him in his favorite sizes. By the way love this totes it is so Holiday but depending on fabrics you choose it could be a beach tote or a fancy go shopping tote or even a utilitarian bag if you made it in a vinyl for example. It's just lovely and it caught my eye today. Thank you for sharing and nice job. I did have to turn off sound. I'm sensitive and for some reason sometimes I can't get it turned down enough not to annoy so I just turn off the sound. Softer back grounds are so appreciated but I do have menieres which is one reason I am so sensitive before menieres I didn't have that problem. Now it's over 40 years with the ear condition. More videos are welcome.

Tłumaczenie genialne ❤️ tym bardziej mi łatwiej bo mam też lidlową maszynę. Szkoda, że nie miałam tej wiedzy jaką mi Pani dała w tym filmiku, może teraz bym umiała szyć z dzianin. A tak na czapce uszytej właśnie ściegiem prostym i opasce skończyłam szycie dzianin. Zajęłam się szyciem z materiału wodoodpornego toreb 😉.
Ale korci mnie od jakiegoś czasu dać szansę tym dzianinim sprzed lat, które leżą w szafie i o sobie przypominają 😅.

I love this video! I made one purse off of it, but it’s too small☹️ Beautiful, but small. So now I keep watching it trying to figure out how to get all the proportions right to make it bigger. I need to watch it and write and draft as I go! Thank you for your wonderful, very precise, easy to follow videos! And I nearly always turn the music off when I’m learning something. I can’t have the radio or TV on when I’m sewing!

I've just made this bag, as a rank beginner. It turned out well, but not perfect. I made some mistakes, learned a lot, and you gave me the space to figure some things out that were not immediately obvious to me. The next one will be perfect.
However, I would like a much larger bag with the same design. What do I need to do to get the proportions right?

Ce sac est magnifique, c'est la 1ère fois que je vois les coins cousus ensemble et c'est très bien pour le rendu. Seul bémol, la fermeture éclair aurait été plus joli ressortie avec un finition rouge et svp mettez toutes les dimensions en cm 🙏👍
