For anyone that’s confused about the story, the boy just broke up with his girlfriend because she cheated on him, and the girl’s husband died in a car crash. “Baggage” represents the troubles they went through in the past that are messing with their relationship. The girl was crying in the bathroom because of her past and the boy was there to comfort her. They both let go of their baggage and lived on together

My cousin showed me band the year before he died. He was like a brother to me. The weekend he died in the hospital I asked my girlfriend out by putting a note in her backpack. I ended the chapter of my life with him and a new one with her.

update: for those curious, he liked to drink. he died from liver failure and stomach bleeding along with complications from his diabetes. he took me under his wing when the rest of the family didnt because i lived far away for so long. he taught me to love myself and not be afraid to live. he was a gamer of epic proportions and a quality music lover from the rare americans, nirvana, lead zepplin ect. its been about 8 months since he passed and me and my girlfreind are going strong and we are deeply in love. didnt expect 180 likes for somthing like this. thank you guys so mutch

For anyone question the cardinal in the video:It's a old saying that if you see a cardinal near you it's a loved one who passed away visiting you,seeing how you're holding up, so it's safe to assume that it's her husband visiting her (that or I just read to much into things,common canadians might just like red birds lol)
I thought the exact same thing. Made me tear up a bit because ever since my sister passed I've seen red cardinals. I did a lot of research into them and thats what they're supposed to represent! Definitely moved me, and I think it was a perfect end scene :)

The song is so good but can we talk more about the art style? Look at the scenes where she’s wearing low cut shirts, tank tops, or just a towel. Look at how she isn’t being sexualized. So many music videos with women, especially the few that are animated, have the female characters ridiculously exaggerated. She isn’t. It’s small but I love it
It also helps to make the story feel more real, too. The two both look like average people, which makes them feel more like people you would actually meet, as opposed to a pair of drop-dead models getting together.

this genuinely does help me at this point. I recently went through losing my girlfriend and even now I feel guilty for missing her. I constantly feel that my emotional baggage towards her and towards what she did to help me vent will permenantly prevent me from finding someone else who can still fill the emotional needs she did, someone i can trust to give my feelings to, but at least this song gives me that bit of hope.

The job market is better here, so I bit the bullet and am now living here finding a job but currently homeless. I'm a lot happier and feel like I'm making progress, but I'm also tempted to make some type of funding campaign just to hope people can help us in this time. Otherwise, I've been able to get past some of (but not all of) my problems and fears with the situation.. i'd say it went alright.

For anyone question the cardinal in the video:It's a old saying that if you see a cardinal near you it's a loved one who passed away visiting you,seeing how you're holding up, so it's safe to assume that it's her husband visiting her (that or I just read to much into things,common canadians might just like red birds lol)
I thought the exact same thing. Made me tear up a bit because ever since my sister passed I've seen red cardinals. I did a lot of research into them and thats what they're supposed to represent! Definitely moved me, and I think it was a perfect end scene :)

I love how they use the cardinal as a symbol for what they both lost, my mother told me when my dad died that a cardinal was a loved one coming to visit again, this really brought back some memories, thank you.

The song is so good but can we talk more about the art style? Look at the scenes where she’s wearing low cut shirts, tank tops, or just a towel. Look at how she isn’t being sexualized. So many music videos with women, especially the few that are animated, have the female characters ridiculously exaggerated. She isn’t. It’s small but I love it
It also helps to make the story feel more real, too. The two both look like average people, which makes them feel more like people you would actually meet, as opposed to a pair of drop-dead models getting together.

this genuinely does help me at this point. I recently went through losing my girlfriend and even now I feel guilty for missing her. I constantly feel that my emotional baggage towards her and towards what she did to help me vent will permenantly prevent me from finding someone else who can still fill the emotional needs she did, someone i can trust to give my feelings to, but at least this song gives me that bit of hope.
I have a flight tomorrow across the US to see the last person I trust that way. I hope it will help me break free too.

@@frenchtrueneutral5637 4 days before I was meant to fly back home, I was told that if I were to return I'd only have a month before being kicked out and homeless. The job market is better here, so I bit the bullet and am now living here finding a job but currently homeless. I'm a lot happier and feel like I'm making progress, but I'm also tempted to make some type of funding campaign just to hope people can help us in this time. Otherwise, I've been able to get past some of (but not all of) my problems and fears with the situation.. i'd say it went alright.
