I've never listened to this podcast. The vocal fry is insane. It sounds like a gay tractor with no grease. Also their takes are lukewarm and frustrating.

Yeah, talk about frustrating. I usually don't mind the red scare girls but they came off retarded in this one. Socialists are always so frothingly eager to shit on liberals that they end up adopting the same reactionary talking points they claim to hate, without realizing they're hurting their own cause in doing so. Reactionaries are cognizant of this, and use it to their advantage all the time, perhaps the most famous example being the Nazi's re-working of anti-Weimar socialist arguments before their takeover. It doesn't take a fucking rocket scientist to figure out what's gwaning with Russia-Ukraine, Simon Ostrovský said it best in this video. Imperialism, plan and simple. Imperialism wasn't limited to Western Europe girls, the Eastern Europeans did it do. Wtf did you guys Lenin was talking about?

This is such a dogshit take it’s not even funny, it’s silly to act as if because the Russian army captures journalists or “torture” them means that we should swallow whole Ukrainian propaganda, offering up billions in aide to a pointless protracted proxy war because silly liberals like you want to appeal to emotion and boogey man tactics
Wouldn't it be crazy to live in a country that is always harkening back to WW2 to justify it's military adventurism? Man I wonder what that would be like.

can anybody explain the hipster(ish) appeal of Red Scare Podcast? I just don't get it, all the theories and ideas sound so unsubstantiated mixed with a lot of offensive rethoric. Is the general appeal just "we're to cool to care for any emotions"?
The appeal is simply to hear the opinion of two extremely privileged women who have a somewhat decent sense of humor discuss how they are disillusioned with the politics of their class. Nothing more. Nothing less. Depending on how history shakes out, they'll either be extremely informative about a transformative time in American history or completely irrelevant.
Why do you think all those theories are unsubstantiated? But that's the fun of it, playing with ideas instead of dogmatically defending a position. Something midwits usually can't :(
It is literally vibes based "politics." One of their biggest complaints is that political correctness and politics are restricting/killing art and vibes so they've inadvertently turned it around and let their vibes kill anything approaching logical political analysis. They are the rich girls who weren't in the popular group in high school who hopped on the pretentious artsy/subversive politics movement because it became in vogue.
I think they’re pretty good. The stupid guest completely ignores the attempt by NATO to put nukes in the Ukraine. Russia told them they would not stand for it but the neoclowns are spoiling for their proxy war
At the 2008 Bucharest summit, NATO announced it would accept the candidacies of Ukraine and Georgia as members. It’s pretty sad that that I know that and Simon Ostrovsky doesn’t.
It's sad that you're condescending about a fact that isn't even in true. The closest Ukraine ever got to initiating the MAP (the formal bid process by which a country attempts to join NATO) was in 2004. Which their former Government pulled out of long before 2008, so forget about acceptance, they were years away from even putting together a formal bid. Assuming said bid didn't get veto'd (it would have been). If vague optimistic statements about future relations was all it took to be a part of NATO, then Russia would be considered a part of the alliance just by virtue of the fact that they signed multiple treaties assisting NATO in transporting fuel and vehicles to Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
@@llJiggyFlyll Funny you should mention that. Russia wanted to join NATO and was not allowed. Funny how this grand "defensive alliance" didn't want to include such a powerful nation and that would have precluded it from attacking other NATO members.
@@louiskeen9164 this is not a movie. in real world nns (who among other crimes, hide behind women and children), and nato (which invaded and looted countries causing far more death and destruction, in this century, than any other current regime), are definition of evil.
Said by Ostrovsky a few weeks before the Kiev regime makes moves to ban the Russian Orthodox Church in the entirety of the territory of Ukraine occupied by it. A bill was submitted to the Rada (Ukrainian parliament) to that effect days ago.
Are you insane? Give a number of this bill. It never happened, while occupied by russia territories they actually did ban the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. In 2014 there was the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church in Crimea, and since then they have all been banned. In fact, things are more complicated. there was a Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchy and Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church, and they took their properties, churches and give it all to russian Orthodox Church.
We both know why the Russian Orthodox Church was sanctioned inside Ukraine after the 2022 invasion. The leading priests are literally FSB affiliated, theyre literally supportive of the invasion. Still its not illegal to be Orthodox, Christian, Russian, or anything like that.
Simon, once the Soviets took over, Wilson had doughboys in Archangel AND Vladivostok and we were aligned with Czechoslovak forces, the Japanese (remember? the guys who defeated Russian barely a decade before? TR got a Nobel for brokering peace?), etc.

He almost lost his life on several occasions. Calling him low T because he calls out contrarian BS is hilarious.

Simon, Ukraine shelled Donetsk and Luhansk and slaughtered folks in the tens of thousands long before 2022. Russia as early as 2008 said he was done with Western inclusion of Ukraine and Georgia and to make a point, invaded Georgia, a nation that still had a statue of Stalin in Tblisi.
