Personaly i think its kinda overkill. Sure its really good for building bases without having to do tons of trips back to your main base, but you can easily escape any leviathan in this game with a prawn suit and fix it later. Theres just no need for a vehicle thats this tanky in vanilla subnautica. Besides its really slow and hard to maneuver. The prawn suit with a grappling arm makes it easier to explore areas. In summary, i think that the cyclopse fills a role which was never needed in subnautica. The seamoth is your early game vehicle and the sub for short trips. The prawn suit lets you explore any area in the game without having to worry about depth. The cyclopse tryes to be an expensive but powerful behemoth, but theres little reason to ever need one.
As soon as I realized what the Cyclops actually was, I FAST TRACKED making that thing. As soon as it was built, my exploration range, no joke, became endless. No longer was I restricted to a range where food and water were readily available. No longer did I have to store food and water in my Seamoth or Prawn for longer excursions. I could literally GROW my food (and water) IN the Cyclops. That key fact ALONE was enough for me to do it, because I HATE lugging around food and water in Subnautica. Not when storage space is such a limited commodity. Oh, and storage? Yeah, build THAT in it, too. Lockers down below not enough? Store a Seamoth with 4 storage mods, just for more, or a prawn with an upgraded storage capacity! Still not enough? Build lockers, right inside the ship. Cyclops is the ultimate Subnautica vehicle. It is a mobile vehicle platform, a mobile research base/observatory, a sanctuary, a mobile base itself, AND a gigantic moving locker. What is there NOT to like?!
Underrated creator, really quality video, recommend doing custom subtitles it'll definitely hook people into your video with more efficiency. Also, i, on one of my modded playthroughs had a mod that let me put a mini bioreactor into the cyclops which essentially allowed me to finish the game with just it, and it was probably one of the most enjoyable playthroughs, for me. I slept, crafted, built food farms within the cyclops and the challenge of the space restriction, made building all that intricate stuff all the more enjoyable!
I'm a mod maker for SN working on a sub called the Prototype, and I've done a lot of thinking and analysis on the cyclops in order to design the Prototype, and I have some thoughts: - The Cyclops being a mobile base, on paper, is really good. It lets the player explore without worrying about running out of resources as quickly, but it comes at a significant cost of speed, ease of transport and, as I'll touch on later, safety. The player is far more safe travelling in a prawn suit than the seamoth and ESPECIALLY the cyclops just because of how fast they can outrun and escape danger. Plus, the prawn suit is much easier to repair. As long as you can find a small crevice or cave, you can fix it fully more quickly and using less energy than with the cyclops. - The customizibility is admittedly the one point in this video I have no trouble with. Letting the player build inside it is honestly super smart and makes for some great endgame content. - As for 'invincibility', I think this video is really misleading. Yes, the Cyclops has a lot of health and yes it has a shield, but the time it takes to repair that health and the energy required to use the shield isn't worth the slower movespeed and the cost of needing to put out the fire when running away from creatures. In a prawn suit, 2 consecutive grapples will get you more than far enough away from most threats to be able to get out, fix it and continue on your way as if nothing happened. In a Cyclops, you run the risk of baiting creatures to follow you because the default speed almost perfectly matches that of a reaper. - The point about deep exploration is also completely wrong. You're MUCH better off exploring the lava zone in a prawn suit than a cyclops because of the points listed above. The only worry is that you might run low on food / water, but you'll be able to move so quickly that it's not much of an issue given the prawn's base storage capacity. Saying that the prawn suit is at risk of being damaged or 'tiring' to use is just not true. The prawn is much faster and much easier than the Cyclops to repair, meaning you'll need to spend less time fixing and maintaining your ship and more time actually exploring. Hope I didn't shit on the video too much, but there are reasons people don't end up using the Cyclops as much as you do, which eventually just boils down to speed. The Cyclops is slow, and it's better to run from threats than to tank the damage- It's how the game was designed. Great video though and I hope you reach 200 subs soon ^^
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed analysis-I can tell you’ve put a lot of thought into this! You make a great point about the Prawn Suit’s speed and repair efficiency, and I agree that it is excellent for specific tasks like navigating tight spaces or escaping quickly. That said, I still find the Cyclops invaluable for extended exploration trips. Its ability to serve as a mobile base, carry the Prawn Suit, and recharge power cells with the thermal reactor upgrade makes it uniquely suited for deep exploration in areas like the Lava Zone. While it’s not the fastest vehicle, its shield generator and fire suppression system provide a level of survivability that complements its utility. I really appreciate your perspective-it’s always great to hear how other players tackle Subnautica’s challenges. I should admit that I’m probably not taking the game as seriously as you may be; I’m not focused on beating the game as quickly as possible but rather on having fun and enjoying the game for how awesome it really is. Again, thank you for sharing your opinion, and let’s try to keep the commentary as respectful as possible. Cheers!
Ngly most people just use it for like the movable base thing but if like u could walk around in a slightly bigger seamoth or if it had like a fabricator module on the outside and it had bigger crush depth everyone would use it
What do you guys think? Is it really as good as I think it is?

@ I would definitely have to agree with some of what your saying but I do think the game is more enjoyable if you have one

Exactly!
this is actually really good. underrated creator
I appreciate that a lot

The cyclops is cool but it’d be only useful if the map was bigger. Like so big you’d actually need several bases
@@fallennarcotic6981 I agree with that but I just think its cool
I do like the new content style

Hopefully there's something like that in Subnauitca 2
Why is bro advertising the cyclops to me
Lol I pushed it a little hard
Yeah bro was literally altera
@SHADOWLURKlol I do like them, thank you for watching the video
The only issue I have with it is the visabilty, you can't see as well as swimming or the other choices!
That's definitely a good point!
one problem is the text on the end image. make the image using ai, but overlay the text on top yourself.
Yeah its something to work on for sure
Make sure you have flowing dialogue instead of the pauses you sometimes add buddy.
