- (Rebuttals Sushi no. 615 - Reviewing the 2023 "Exercise Patience!" convention of Jehovah's Witnesses - Sunday AM) A speaker at this year's Jehovah's Witness convention skillfully blurs the lines between opposition of an individual and of the group they follow.
As announced on September 15, 2023, this channel is dramatically reducing the number of uploads meaning there will be no further pre-recorded long-form rebuttals or "sushis" (segments from my rebuttals released as standalone videos). This video is one of four sushis from the beginning of my rebuttal to the Sunday morning session of the "Exercise Patience" convention, the filming of which was never completed.

I went to see my mum and dad yesterday because I'd not seen them in a while. Unfortunately my mum was out and it was just my dad. I had to listen to two hours of a rant on bible prophecy. He is so obsessed with it and when the end will come that he's lost all grasp of how to interact on a human level. I ended up questioning, not the bible but the organisation. He actually told me to leave the house because he didn't want me there. He just confirmed to me that leaving that cult was the best thing I ever did. I couldn't think of anything worse than spending eternity with people like him. Basically, there is no room for anyone that thinks for themselves. I'm just waiting for a knock on my door from the cult elders now, as I'm still baptized....
Great point Lloyd! They really do twist any opposition against the organization to feel like a personal attack. I never thought of that while I was inside. There's so much manipulation and control over what and how you think. They always talk negatively on other religions for "tickling the ears" of their patrons, but they do the same thing, threaten, and then hold out life forever as the carrot you're always chasing. Sad
Agreed🤝🏻👌🏼
Nobody does "US vs THEM" Manipulation and Fear Mongering, like WT Org/JWs do.
😣🤦🏻♀️🤦🏾♂️👎🏻👎🏻⚠️☠
Oh yeah...and HYPOCRACY too.🗣🗣🛑🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤡
@treybonnot5448,
Of course, the Watchtower Society tickles the ears of their members, too, just like all of the other religions that they so wholeheartedly condemn. The Society has to appeal to people's fears, hopes and emotions -- otherwise, how could they ever get their adherents to do what they want them to do? Claim you hold the keys to their eternal salvation and wiggle it over them like a dangling carrot. It's a sad but effective method. It does work on some people. I wish it didn't, but it does.
Thanks Lloyd. The only one can conclude is, "these guys are out of their minds". No other words. Twisting scripture to fit charlatans interpretations. Well, the Tower is crumbling. Very fast.
It's all a con game
@@rockpadstudios Exactly.
Ironically, for an Organization that Disapproves Of Halloween; They have Zero qualms about presenting themselves and their true agendas, behind a Mask.🤷🏻♀️🤷🏿♂️
🤥🤡💀👹
@@sparklecanada0112 ,
Oh, you know what...dressing up as a Governing Body member for Halloween would be perfect. A mask replica of the "Faithful and Discreet Slave" would certainly be enough to scare the daylights out of any Witnesses whose homes you might accidentally go to while trick-or-treating. Everyone is entitled to one good scare on Halloween, even Jehovah's Witnesses...them's the rules.
I stopt go to meetings and conventions just to AVOID to see and hear more of this. And for the sake of my mental health. It,s not good for me either to accept these criminals breaking so many laws. Hipocrites!
Of course they do this, to keep families separated. It's horrible. 😢
We’re Jehovahs family on earth
@@Chris-zh1ff if you are a current JW, trying to defend cruelty, you did a crappy job.
Welcome back!!
All those overfed bethelites are getting opposition, I don’t think so , in their guarded compound
That's probably the most dramatically I've seen bread eaten.
We all know what he wished he was eating. Those beards were just glorified fanny pillows. 🤣
@@badger1296,
LOL! Okay, now that's dirty.
Conventions will get more and more violent as they go, they will get more like watching the movies, as they lately are getting more and nore into the habit of playing clips.
Lolololololololol violent??
To say I HATE this organization is an understatement
This guys are insane no doubt. Masters in twisting everything. Now are WE the victims of the shunning pracsis...shunning our own family😂 Amazing with all this paranoia ! 😮
Love the new background of blue bubble like thoughts... Its got a calming effect to it.❤
My father “persecuted” my mother until he found out that as a JW he would have complete control over her. Then being a Witness didn’t sound so bad. He was active up until she died and hasn’t been back to the Kingdom Hall since.
@fredsegarra2923,
I'm guessing your father was a rather abusive person before becoming a Witness and that he largely became a JW because he knew that your mother would have no choice but to submit to his authority regarding all familial matters due to JW culture's patriarchal view of the family unit. After your mother passed way, you say that your dad became inactive in the JW faith. Why does that not sound surprising? I do think that is one of the potential dangers for abused, married JW women -- these women are supposed to win over their nonbelieving husbands to their faith without a word through their actions that express devotion to the JW faith - but what happens when her abusive non-JW husband who previously opposed her religion only joins the JW Organization just so he can control her?
Not only that but the JW Organization's strict rules on divorce are also concerning. Even if an abused JW leaves their spouse and divorces them in a court of law, they can never get married ever again, and to top it off, they're still "spiritually bound" to that person unless their spouse dies, has an adulterous affair with another person or legally marries someone else.
@@b.w.7588
Exactly. And when my mother went to the elders to let them know what my father was doing they told her to be a better wife.
@@fredsegarra2923,
Yeah, because...well, you know, according to those Elders -- the problem was totally the fault of your mother for "not being a good enough wife"...the problem certainly didn't lie with the butt-wipe who was being abusive to her. Mercy no. And these men believe that their "appointed" by some righteous" Holy Spirit". Excuse my language but I call bull-fucking-shit on that.
@@b.w.7588 the GB members are sick in mind and soul. So they feed JWs with that sickness. They can only give what they have. Well, the Tower is crumbling.
@@fredsegarra2923This was exactly the advice my mother-in-law was given. Fortunately, it didn't take long for her to realize that no matter how much she tried to be a good wife, her (now-ex) husband was still extremely controlling and abusive, making it clear that he hadn't changed, even after becoming a Jehovah's Witness.
She made the right call to get a divorce to escape, knowing that she and her children were in danger, but being a Jehovah's Witness at the time, it came at a hefty price. She was disfellowshipped, and lost everything and everyone she ever knew within the organization, much to her sadness and disgust. In other words, my mother-in-law was unfairly punished for doing the right thing to save herself and her children, who were also in grave danger due to also being abused at the hands of their abusive biological father.
Can't wait to see what you are going to say about the Annual Meeting 2023 especially with the big changes and new lights they presented there.
Brilliant reasoning as always. Thank you Lloyd!!
Thank you Lloyd! ❤️
They always love opposition and persecution
What is the purpose of us vs them .. wouldn’t they get more witnesses if they didn’t try to control
Thanks, Lloyd. Looking forward to longer videos, though. 😊
My family is still active, I’ve been out years, faded. I was sitting with my dad that’s having medical issues,when my brother entered the room to show him a text message I’m assuming from their service overseer stating that November 1rst they will no longer turn in their time for field service. Has anyone heard anything about this?
Why didn't God just zap Jezebel and save Elijah? God was supposed to have zapped those Baal worshippers at the drop of a hat, but when it comes to Jezebel: nothing. It's such an odd Bible story. Could it be that it's a made up story and there is no God? Yes
Well said.
God is a misogynist.
@geoffreybunting9837,
I suppose Jezebel wasn't very nice since she killed Yahweh's prophets allegedly, but why couldn't people just be free to worship how they wanted so long as they weren't causing any perceivable harm to anyone else?
I was raised in a cult nightmare
same
The best part is, there’s an actual group of people approving this JW media and propaganda. Sitting there making the conscious decision that it’s indeed good enough to put out for the world to see. 😂 It’s embarrassing at very least.
The hypocrisy
Not related to this video but I miss Jade and Neeta. Also, I was curious on how Jade, Neeta, and Jade's ex bf love triangle would unfold. 😢
@auditordoscientosveintitre5545,
I'm waiting to see the dark side of Neeta, if and when she goes all "FATAL ATTRACTION" on Jade's ex-boyfriend because she wants Jade all to herself, like how Glenn Close's character wanted to off Anne Archer's character just so she could continue her obsession with Michael Douglas's character.
Okay, while the stories in the Bible don't portray Jezebel as being very nice with her killing those who claim to be Yahweh's prophets, I still don't see why people couldn't worship as they chose. Why couldn't those Israelites mixing Canaanite religion and Yahwism worship as they saw fit so long as no one else was being harmed? And why couldn't the monolatrists who believed in worshipping Yahweh alone worship as they saw fit so long as no one was being harmed? King Josiah had no problem punishing those who didn't adhere to his monotheistic interpretation of Israelite religion, and why was that okay? Who gets to decide what is "orthodox" and what is "heresy", and why?
Darcy is my cousin. His brother is Jayden MacEwan a JW lawyer with Glen Howe Lawyers at the Georgetown branch in Canada. His father is John MacEwan and his mother Glenda (my first cousin) is his mother. Glenda's father Bill Jackson raped me when I was 10 years old. He was an elder and his wife Norma (my aunt by blood) was a full time pioneer and chronic alcoholic. I was born into JW royalty as I call it, and it sickens me to see my family carrying this on...I have plenty of stories about David and Linda Splane too when they were the CO at the time in Quebec and they become lifelong family friends. David Splane gave the prayer at my mother's funeral...
@timbit72,
I'm so sorry for the sexual abuse that you endured. Was David Splane aware of that abuse since he was such good friends with your relatives? The corruption in this Organization runs so deep -- how can the Governing Body themselves sleep at night when some of them personally know victims of child sexual abuse that happened within their own denomination, and now they're serving as the highest human leaders in the Witness Organization -- I'm telling you, these guys are total creeps.
This reinforces my opinion : it’s nut fun being in a cult ; why stay ?
Did Jesus and disciples ever say Jehovah or Jehovah god like the watchtower?
Loving hearing Elijah with a northern English accent 😅
Lol
don't go to college so you don't get smart = S-M-R-T
Of course, Witnesses have a big persecution complex, and I do believe some of that stems from actual instances of mistreatment or historical persecution -- but really, you think if apostates are examining the Witness faith from a critical point of view and are openly expressing disagreement with doctrines and rituals promoted by the Society that they no longer agree with -- that, to the Watch Tower Society, is "persecution"? Really? Now, there are ex-JWs who do have genuine misconceptions about certain aspects of the Witness faith, true, but that doesn't mean that the faith shouldn't be looked at critically.
True, in our disagreements with the Society, we can express bias, and to be fair, that is going to happen from time to time as we human beings all have biases. But what we apostates should do and can do better at is by trying and keep our biases in check as much as possible and to provide the most accurate information about the JW faith's beliefs, practices, culture and history when expressing critiques or disagreement with the Society to the best of our ability. We don't need to rely on made-up stories, half-truths, unnecessary forms of speculation, exaggerations, misconceptions or conspiracy theories. The Watchtower Society doesn't seem to try to and check its own biases, but shouldn't we ex-JWs try to do that? Don't we owe that much to ourselves, for the sake of honesty and transparency?
It would probably help us to better help ourselves and to help those who are struggling with doubts, whether they wish to eventually leave the faith or not.
Don't cause no conflict, there won't be no problems.
With Lloyd's lovely accent, I often think he's being sarcastic more often than he actually is!😂 If that's possible!🤣
Annual meeting ?

Jezebel did eventually get zapped in an unpleasant demise recorded in 2 Kings 9:33 and following.
@tamrashafer7373,
2 Kings 9:33:
“Throw her down!” Jehu said. So they threw her down, and some of her blood spattered the wall and the horses as they trampled her underfoot.
- New International Version
So not only was Jezebel thrown from the palace tower, but her body was then trampled under the feet of horses before her remains were consumed by dogs. While I accept that Jezebel could have been a historical figure, now whether the Biblical authors' portrayal of her story is fairly accurate or not, that I cannot say. Like Elijah, she does stand her ground, even if she's not the Bible's most pleasant character. She still manages to look regal and play the role of the Queen even up to her own demise.
I believe that the BOOK OF KINGS was written between the 7th to 6th centuries BCE/B.C. and is probably more a description of the Israelites' evolving theological history, rather than a historically accurate account of real events. The authors of KINGS were likely living in Judah and were probably critiquing the polytheistic tendencies of the Israelites who lived in Israel under the Omride dynasty, who mixed elements of Canaanite religion in with Yahwism -- such as having the god Baal and goddess Asherah being honored alongside Yahweh. The authors of this Biblical book likely wanted to provide a religious explanation for why they believed the kingdom of Judah was decimated by the Babylonians in 587 or 586 BCE/B.C., as well as to provide a reason for the Israelites return to Judah from Babylonian captivity.
Judah had developed a bit of a rivalry with Israel at the time. The Israelites in Judah were strict monotheists and would have seen the polytheistic beliefs and practices of their Israelite peers in Israel as "sinful".
Everytime I hear Jehovah it triggers me
WELL ISN'T THAT WHAT JESUS SAID? READ .MATTHEW 10 verse 34 to 38. So you are simply saying that Jehovahs witnesses are adhering to the teachi gs of the bible.
Yep. Horrible.
@archieliburd3794,
Maybe, but even if he did, who cares? Just because Jesus encouraged his followers in the 1st century to do something, that doesn't mean you should do it, too. Of course, the JWs say they adhere to the teachings of the Bible, but don't all Christians believe that there are also adhering to the Bible's rules? I mean, to be fair, Jehovah's Witnesses adhere to the Governing Body's non-negotiable interpretation of the Bible. But nonetheless, the JWs' unquestioning and strict adherence to following the perceived rules of the Bible, and their highly literal interpretation of that text, is one of the problems with the faith itself.
