Driver gets air lifted out of dunes

- Dear diary,
Here we are with the second half of our weekend at St. Anthony Sand Dunes in Idaho, where we stayed at Sand Hills RV resort. The second half of the trip is full of morning rides, to avoid the heat as much as possible. We had the unfortunate experience of someone rolling all the way down thunder mountain and watching him get life flighted out of the dunes. In all the times we have been to the dunes, we have never seen anything like this, and it is just a reminder that the dunes can be dangerous and to ride safe.

Bitter sweet, i don't like to see the air ambulances out as someone is having a very bad day but since i work for those air ambulances i like to see our hard work in action helping those in need. thanks for sharing.
It is very bitter sweet, and it’s a rude awakening to remember anything can happen when you’re out riding. We appreciate our first responders, my mom is a dual seat on a strike team for Air Evac and it’s amazing what y’all do, thank you for being a first responder, it doesn’t go unnoticed! Thanks James! The caves were really super cool, and we had no idea they even existed! Apparently there is another opening for more caves not too far from these where there are a ton of ice Stalagmites! We hope to venture out and find those too sometime! Ice caves how far for the dunes are those
I’d say they were about 30-45 minutes from the dunes in a car, and definitely faster in a SXS with the dirt off-road you turn on to get to them.
