At time 17:42, it is interesting how railroads pull cars of competing railroads. This CSX train was pulling auto racks showing its competiors logos (Union Pacific, BNSF, Kansas City Southern, CP, Rail, Norfolk Southern, Canadian National, Providence & Worchester, TPM, Conrail, GATX, and others).
Life has thrown us a few medical curve balls lately. Your daily vids really help me get through the day. Thanks a million for giving me something to look forward to every morning.
A Jaw Tooth video is always a good sight to see, especially to start off a Friday morning after getting blood drawn so that my neurologist can check the level of medicine in my blood to see if there's enough medicine or to bump it up a bit. Keep those cool train videos coming, JT!! Much respect from a Michigan resident! 👍
When the car transports first showed up on the NYC Chicago line (1963?), the racks were open and all of the cars were visible. My brother & I usec to sit on the signal bridge over tbe tracks and watck the trains bewteen Utica and Herkimer, NY. Fun times!
I used to work at a shop that repaired cars damaged in transit before auto before carriers were enclosed, hobos would get in the cars, run the AC and leave trash in them. Sometimes cars couldn't be driven off the train because they were out of gas because hobos had left them running.
Great train action in Hamilton Ohio with the Coal Train going through on a very cloudy day by the old train station and Hamilton is a really nice area here also great to see the Train Dogs Chessie, Loki and Brandi i guess Norfie was off asleep somewhere and the train slide show always great to see the trains and the pets Thanks Jaw Tooth.🇺🇲🤠🐶🐶🐶😸🇺🇲 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲🇺🇲💨💨
There were several really nice looking brand new auto rack cars on the CSX. I'm very surprised the taggers haven't had a chance to get to them yet. A blank canvas like them is probably a dream come true for them! 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤
Another great video. I would love to go back in time and see when the old train station’s were booming all across the country. I would say there’s been a lot of them torn down over the years and that’s so sad. Great job 👍
That’s sad history gone. I had bought a book about Jefferson City,Tennessee and it shows the old depot way back in the day. It’s still standing. I know you have been in East Tennessee and you may have even been in Jefferson City.
Going to pause this now and catch up with JT vids on the utube casted to the big screen when I'm off and sitting sith coffee in my sleeping clothes tomorrow morning.
Watching twice on Roku TV. Enjoying this video. Love how you tell about things changing and new stuff. Cool. Thanks my JT. And always love your fur babies. ❤😊
In my area, one-ton of anthracite coal is $480 with $135 delivery fee. Remember a ton at $130+, and bituminous coke $100 per ton in early 1980's.. Gallon of K-1 kerosene at gas station 'now' $6.89 per gal. ouch, few years back $2.99 per gal. Not a drop of kero available from mom & pop shops in having designated small tanker truck for that purpose. Mega box stores are raking people over the coals [no pun intended] in cost of $60 for 5 gal jug. Have two 55 gal drums in getting a squirt, can't now, its impossible. Best wishes & God Bless.
One ton of anthracite coal is equal to 260 +/- gallons of home heating oil, equivalent of 'full' cord of seasoned firewood. Coal being sold in 40 lbs bags, on pallets, seen at $12 - 15 per bag, pallet discount, own truck from yard. Know a provider that extorts people for $100 fork lift fee.
Great Yooper Chook hat! This video was almost a sensory overload! The first train was running so smooth with a nice even sound of the wheels on the tracks as it came around the curve. Loved seeing the long grass waving in the breeze. Like seeing a rail fan watching you from behind.
Also like seeing what is happening with the old depot. Sure hope they continue with the restoration. All the trains in this video had their own unique sound from the engines to the wheels on the rails with some brake squeaks. Ya done great! Loved seeing Loci's food dish!
It's amazing how fast dogs can figure out puzzles if food is involved 😊. Our dog got one of those for Christmas, and it took him but less than a minute to figure his out. Thanks 👍 for the video today, and have a good rest of the week! 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
So glad they moved the train station. I watched a couple videos showing it being moved. Thanks for the update. I enjoyed the video and furry friends. ❤
What an awesome video from Brian. Many thanks again for your birthday wishes and train dedication. Please take care of yourself and stay warm. You are the only person to dedicate a train 🚆 to me. I will be looking forward to your next video.😊
Hey jaw tooth how you feeling today? Hopefully a lot better and no pain. Lots of cool trains. Wonder why they didn't put station closer to tracks when they moved it. Have a great railroad day 🚂🙋♀️
Thank you for the update on the relocated Hamilton, Ohio depot, Jaw Tooth. It is nice to see that some work is being done to the depot since its relocation was completed in January 2022. I enjoyed watching the trains as they passed your locations in Hamilton, Ohio. That train of empty gondola cars going back to the steel mill for more rolls of steel coils was a short train in comparison to some of the same trains that we have seen in the past.
Hi Jaw, i like yor videos and ypur channel. Keep doing that. I lived in Hamilton for 4 years and I miss it, I am in Puerto Rico but I am contemplating returning. I miss the City and the train.
Kind of a short intermodal, but still a good one. I'll guess the building in the background with the arched windows was beautiful in it's heyday. 😊😊😊❤❤❤
Good morning JT. That was a good CSX mixed freight, although predominantly empty coal, to start with. I liked the blue tank car! It's 😢 supposed to be warm here today. I hope it is where you are, too! 😊😊😊❤❤❤
Rail fishplate is what it is called when they attach old rail to new rail my friend. I had to look it up because I couldn't remember either lol. Very awesome live action by the way too.
Nice, SD70MAC on the first one, I believe a flared radiator one too. That was odd seeing a few tankers and covered hoppers in the middle of all them coal hoppers, a coal manifest I guess😂. I’ve never seen 141lb rail before, maybe that joint bar is a transition bar, just a wild guess🤔. Brandy new AC44c6m ✨on that gondola train. Great video as always JT, appreciate the quality uploads👍🏼😎🇺🇸
Awesome video young man there is snow on the ground there it going to be 64 degrees tomorrow in south East Tennessee. Those are some nice looking Coal trains . How did I know you were going to say that lol .but wate there more that was a good second train wow a third train that so cool .are you his teacher Jaw tooth school of railfanning the fourth train awesome with auto rack nice the Graffiti looks cool. What was the weather like there when you made this video when my friend thanks for sharing my friend. Robert
Thanks for the station update but it sounds like there's not enough "push" behind the project. The station needs a new roof before it needs anything else. That's a compromise joint featuring compromise bars. Great action makes for an awesome video, enjoyed it much. Thanks JT!
Good trains all :) I wonder if there is a budget issue with the renovation? From one year to another, there are often shifting priorities and that can pull the funding. In any event, it will get done and it will be cool :)
GREAT VIDEO, I WATCH TOUR VIDEOS EVERY DAY BUT IVE NOTICED LATELY THAT THEY ARE EVERY OTHER DAY , HOPE YOU ARE OK I KNOW YOU HAD AN OPERATION HOPE IT WAS A SUCCESS .
Regarding joining 2 rails the piece is called a "fishplate". Couldn't find if the fishplate shown has a special name to denote it joins two different size tails.
I know Im puting my self out there for a good laugh, but, I have to ask JT. Is there a short vid where you show how you hold the camera? I've often wondered how the camera goes from pointing at the train, then swings around pointing at you, then you move it to show something else, then back to you, which happens in one continuous motion and thats the part i cant figure out.
The mega Gondola train has been missing for the last couple weeks and had been a regular on your tapes. Since the last tape a few more of the newer cars are being used what's some of the old Southern clunkers are still in there. Better catch these gons before they're gone. Also the last autorack has side stepped TTX and is owned by GATX and is marked for WRWK Warwick. Slowly but surely the depot will come back to life
Really like your videos, but I can't help notice that half of all the trains/railcars are empty or deadheading. Seems counterproductive! Any thoughts on this?
Was this train headed down through KY where you film so n etine in a valley and a bridge goes across a river. You can drive a cross the bridge and if no trains coming you xan walk across where cars drive. It almost completely abandoned town

Morning all avid jawtooth fans ! Sit back ,relax and enjoy the video !

I was in Hamilton yesterday. It was a good day, I caught Loram Rail Grinder in action.

Cool clouds jaws in the background with great lighting in that last CSX auto rack train!
Like the unit coal trains and seeing all the old road names/fallen flags on auto racks!🛤🚂

Awesome location Jawtooth! Cheers to Hamilton for saving their train station! Thanks for sharing updates on the area!👍
JT enjoying watching and again awesome video and I sit back will I'm going watch the video and enjoy the side show too 🚂🚂🚂🚂👍😃😎♥️ LOVE IT AWESOME
Another great video. I would love to go back in time and see when the old train station’s were booming all across the country. I would say there’s been a lot of them torn down over the years and that’s so sad. Great job 👍
I agree with you. I just did a video a month ago about one that burnt in Midland Ohio on New Years day

We're in Hamilton that means another great video thanks Brian
Great video JT. Good to see they are still working on that old station / depot there in Hamilton.
A fairly long NS empty gondola train. I wonder who needs so many of those? 😊😊😊❤❤❤
Kind of a short intermodal, but still a good one. I'll guess the building in the background with the arched windows was beautiful in it's heyday. 😊😊😊❤❤❤

Engine 4790 looks new. No dust or dirt and shiny paint. Gotta like that. I wonder if it has a new engine smell inside. Like new cars do.
It,s a Fishplate, the rail jointer. Really enjoy your videos of US railfreight trains.have cousins that worked for the Southern.
Thanks for the info! I remember hearing that term from the UK
A few of those gons looked almost virginal..brand new!
This particular joint bar (US name) is a transition or comprimise bar (i.e. 115 lb to 141 lb rail).
Rail fishplate is what it is called when they attach old rail to new rail my friend. I had to look it up because I couldn't remember either lol. Very awesome live action by the way too.
Thanks for the info and thanks for watching!
That last autorack train must have enough autos on board to fill the lot of at least one average sized dealer, and possibly more.
Nice, SD70MAC on the first one, I believe a flared radiator one too. That was odd seeing a few tankers and covered hoppers in the middle of all them coal hoppers, a coal manifest I guess😂. In Colorado all coal trains have a DPU at the end
Merci beaucoup pour cette très belle vidéo !✨✨
Hope that you are doing well. That treat toy is quite clever.

I believe that was a splice bar in the rail. To help alleviate a crack issue in the rail.
I have always called them a splice bar.
That second train, the intermodal, was so quiet!
Nice smooth welded rail
I love your content! Like and inscription, hello from Italy

How you feeling/doing, JT. Praying you are healing well, sir.
Love the live action pets!
If you had to answer, do you prefer to catch NS or CSX power?
Amtrak reverse loop into the old station would be great
I hope it happens but it will take years
Amtrak add a stop?
Here JT... Take my 👍... you deserve it!
I appreciate that!
well, that'll keep the new dog busy searching for his cookies.
Locomotive 4710 must be new. That shint paint was sexy
Great catches and awesome video jaw tooth

You sure do a lot of traveling JT you have great train videos
Nice train coverage!

My best thought is Tyvek. They are going to be bringing up the windows to today's standards.
still blows my mind how long these things are.(got to be a half mile long. wowowow) :) cool
I believe they’re called offset angle bar or joint bar.
You should play some Jazzy sax music when you show a coal train.
Awesome video as always jaw tooth.
Thanks again!
Good Morning Brian and the crew. Be safe everyone...
Morning
Thought I saw an auto rack with a CP/KCS logo on it toward the end of the train.
Brian, what video editing software do you use?

Hey Jaw Tooth, I have a question: Why do they call some main rail lines "subs"? Thanks in advance.
Rocky Mountain Steel Mill
Thats right. Now I remember. thanks
RMSM is Rocky Mountain Steel Mills.
