- This interview with Sonny Landham was recorded at the November 2007 HorrorHound Weekend in Indianapolis, IN. Horror fans will know Sonny as the character "Billy" from the movie Predator. He has also appeared in The Warriors, 48 Hrs., and many other action films. Sonny is also active in politics, he ran for governor in Kentucky in 2003.
Sonny Landham died on Thursday, August 17, 2017.

Such an interesting interview...Sonny Landham seemed like a pretty mellow dude (the type of cat you'd share a six-pack with), despite his reputation--and friction--both on- and off-camera with the various actors he's co-starred with during his career. It's ironic that the interviewers mentioned "Poltergeist" during the interview; Sonny actually had a bit part in "Poltergeist" alongside the late Dominique Dunne (he played one of the construction workers working on the pool). May he continue to rest in peace...he is still missed.
Which is why the whole rumor of him needing a bodyguard on the set of Predator to keep him from getting into fights with other cast members is bull crap. In every interview Sonny's ever done, he's laughing and joking and in a jovial mood.

I've read that Sonny had bodyguards during the Predator shoot, not to protect him but to protect the other cast members from him! Probably a load of nonsense but a great story nevertheless!

I saw a youtube short that this guy was violent and they had a bodyguard to keep this guy in check on the sets of Predator. Dont know how far its true. But this guy looked fit for his age.
