Justine so sorry you experienced abuse. Me too. I am 55 and just understood what was going on in the last two years. I left finally. He definitely did not have the same morals. Truth, transparency and honesty for me. I am so happy you figured it out sooner then later. I have years of abuse that stem to childhood. Now I am healing and hoping for someone who matches my values. I will never settle again.❤
Hi Karen, I went through 25 years of abuse, but tried too long to make it work. He was leaving just as I went to get help from social worker. God took care of me after that for some time. I'm 55 years old now and got remarried after being by myself for 5 years. Being on my own was both hard and looking back, wonderful because of how close I to God again. Before I looked at my pain. In my own I looked to God and was blessed. I pray you are blessed and grow closer to God daily. And when you get together with those people that have the same faith as you, may you enjoy sweet times together. And when you marry again, may you marry your best friend and the one that also loves your soul.

Justine, marriage will not always be 5O/50. I've been married for a long, long time. Hon marriage will NOT ALWAYS 50/50 there's going to be times that you'll have to do more than he will, and he will have to do more than you. You are right about having the same morals and values it makes things a lot easier. Another piece of advice, be realistic about what you expect from each other. Thar can be a bitter pill to swallow. Read the Bible together when you're going through a rough patch, and building a new home will test you, right down to your last nerve. lolol if you have a fight walk away before name calling starts. Think about it then come back and talk when calmer and cooler heads prevail. When your dating it's totally different from being married, talk about what you expect from each other. This will help keep things in perspective. Congratulations to you both ❤ 😊 ps Justine take what you've learned in your last relationship about what you want and don't want. After your married you'll go through a honeymoon phase but that will be short lived and the reality of marriage will set in. Use a sense of humor when you need it, that will help you alot. 😊❤

I also have some insight on this as my life has been riddled with unsavory characters and it always took me by surprise. It has a lot to do with empathy deficient personality disorders (ex: psychopaths, sociopaths, narcissists) they can show up anywhere (and in any religion) and they are BRUTAL. Researching these personality types was THE BEST thing I have ever researched because now I can tell way easier when I have encountered one and I can protect myself (avoiding and cutting them out is the only way- they do not change). However, they can be very tricky and can put up a good front so do not blame yourself for being deceived, it is NOT your fault. I encourage everyone to get to know these personality types well, but from the safety of their own computer so they can be prepared if they encounter someone like this in real life. XOXO!
