ALI WAS SPECIAL... because he was happy with himself even if he were to become a welder ... that’s what drives me to like certain people regardless of their profession they’re comfortable in their own skin I find that with Jack Dempsey ... and other people on the planet ... ALI ... told me the same thing he told Sugar Ray Leonard I’m sure many others to be your own man and sign your own checks... I enjoyed strawberry ice cream with the Champs even more than sparring ( ALI & JIMMY ELLIS ) ... as far as athletes go it’s good to be agitated before a competition but not while you’re wearing a nice suit and tie ... it’s a parody people spend too much time trying to be like a bad ass just stick to the fundamentals and be a good example for greatness and virtue... neither did Ali.....but Roy still put his stamp down, like Clay, and will be remembered as one of the all time greats because of it.

He aimed high and got there, then probably dropping weights again caused some difficulty- he could have retired at the top. No-one is perfect, even the small number of boxers with excellent unbeaten records

Never saw Roy truly or laugh smile in ANY interview. Forget that this is aninterview about a sad moment but I mean ANY interview. He always seems angry or miserable. He doesn't seem to be a happy person. Rich, family, great career. Hmmm. No idea why.
