I feel like we need a follow up video of that day. did you feel refreshed or did waking up early make you tired? do you think the mindfulness/meditation helped you focus? did you have any other breakfast after you started your day or was the smoothie the only thing until morning break or lunch? did you notice if the list you wrote in the journal was helpful at all? was there an opportunity to be kind or thoughtful at some point in the day (more than you normally would)? how did you feel at the end of the day? did you go to bed early because you woke up so early? obviously we are watching this in the future so you may not have had a chance to record your day but i'd be interested to hear your thoughts on whether you felt this helped or not and why. there may be more points that i haven't thought of as well.
this routine seems like something you need to do constantly until it becomes habit before you get benefits from it. i don't know how useful it would be to do it one time. that said waking up early to look forward to a cold shower doesn't sound like something i want to live with. although it was interesting that you felt warm after the cold shower was done. and maybe you can look forward to a hot shower at the end of the day and enjoy it more?

exactly! i'm curious, i've never seen a video of theirs cut off so short. they always explain their thoughts/experience in depth!
I’m curious as well, however if waking up that early made them feel tired, it could be because of their messed up circadian rhythm. It takes about two weeks to get to a normal rhythm when going to bed and waking up at the same time. When you go to bed or wake up at a different time that normal, your body will tend to feel tired all day. I think a full on cold shower is crazy but I always end my hot showers with some cold water to wake me up and leave me feeling refreshed and I don’t go far into the cold, sometimes I do but only a little bit at a time until I’ve reached super cold. It also helps so that I like room temp air when I get out of the shower and so I’m not cold when I step out.

Totally agree to what Megan said at the end. Your Morning routines need to be tailored to your needs and that's when you'll feel 'more' productive.
cold shower trick, put it on warm first so the hot pipe is primed then move it to cold, instead of getting out when its too much to bare move it to warm for a bit then return to cold, and repeat.
knowing that at any point you can switch it to warm helps alot.
after a few weeks of 90% of the time cold showers it becomes normal. my water heater broke once and i didnt bother fixing it for a week. (note dishwasher has its own water heater so dishes where sanitary)
I have wake up around that times most days during the school year for cross country. So inspiration to many follow.
Hot water is very, very good for you in the morning. I would recommend trying a tea cup with a glass of hot water rather than a tall glass of cold water. Later on you can drink the cold water.

Cold shower. 10 seconds water about your left upper arm then 10 seconds about your right upper arm. Then 10 seconds water about your left upper leg and 10 seconds about your right upper leg. Finally 10 seconds water about your left lower leg and 10 seconds about your right lower leg. Its about the Kneip method. So the procedure is easier.

I think I would've preferred a productive 5am morning routine how you guys would realistically do it. for example when you want to get a lot of studying done before class, wake up at 5 am, just to be productive (and do it for the video)

I hate drinking water in the morning too because it makes me feel really sick for some reason. I can sip on some peppermint tea but I can’t drink water, coffee, green or black tea before 9am or I’ll literally throw up because my stomach can’t handle it for some reason 😅

If you’re drinking tap water then I would suggest a water filter. That way there’s no taste! I would definitely recommend the water part but the rest is a bit unnecessary, like waking up at 5.30am and having a cold shower. Funny to watch though! Lol
