When the former owner said it’s not for sale, I seriously thought he was going to just give it to him, because he knew what the truck meant to him, I mean, what was he doing with it besides letting it sink deeper into the mud! He used his emotional connection to that truck to steal that 210 from him, in other words, he made a deal with the devil. Congratulations anyhow! Will be following the build! 👏👏👏
Thanks man, my wife and I had talked about offering the 57 for trade while waiting to hear from him. I know this seems like a 1 sided trade. But I am not mad at him at all. The man has over 300 cars and the day after I got home his wife called and asked did I see all the cars? I said yes. She said and he won’t sell a part. This was a car guy understanding a car guy.
I had the pleasure of knowing Chris as a roommate while he was at UTI. We visited his home in Louisiana and he took me for a ride in that truck down the dirt road. Super fast truck . Glad Chris knew the dirt roads well because he was flying!!! Scared the crap out of me but it was the best ride I ever had. Chris is the real deal. Great guy. I’m very happy you got that back!!!!
Congratulations on finding your first ride again. Great job to everyone involved in helping find it. I know the feeling of looking for your first car. I'm still looking for my 66 Chevelle Malibu that was my family's car that became my first car I drove it until I joined the Marine Corps and put it in storage in a relatives barn until I returned. Unfortunately when I did return it was no longer in storage and it had been stolen from the barn along with all my uncles role away tool boxes and other stuff. I've been looking since 98 when I got out of the Marine Corps. I'm glad you were able to find your truck that is a great story and I know you are going to enjoy having it back in your own personal shop again.
Cool to hear and see you Wes , nice to meet you ✅ This just makes my eyes watery😀 Put the truck on the road with modern suspension brakes and wheels , the original green paint might be cool too
What a fantastic story and well done video! I can't wait to watch this channel explode in popularity!!! Looking forward to many more stories! Congrats Wes and Chris!
Dammit, this channel is gonna get my seasonal allergies acting up all year long. Eyes are all red and watery for no good reason. Where's the Claritin!? Congrats to Chris on finding his truck, and congrats to Wes for an awesome start to the new media outlet.
Thanks brother. Yea I know what you mean . I’m still taking allergy medicine hahahaha. Can’t believe I got it back. And can’t wait to show everyone what it is gonna luck like.
Not my first car but had a 55 2nd series truck like this. Would love to find another but wow they are no longer in my old retired budget. Thanks for the memory
Great story....them special vehicles in our lives can be found Getting close to finding my challenger RT....i know it is alive and restored....one more step to finding it Thanks lost muscle cars....keep bringing more episodes
What an awesome story!! Makes me want to find my Grandpa's old truck. It started life as a '50 ford Business Coupe, and around 1972-ish, my Grandpa cut the roof just behind the doors, grafted a rear cab wall from a 50s Studebaker pickup onto it, and turned it into what was essentially a "ute". It had a Flathead V8 and a 4 speed Manual. He mixed every shade of green in his Garage and painted it, my dad says itbwas the most beautiful shade of green you would ever see. Grandpa sold it a few years later to someone on West Mahoning Street in Punxsutawney, PA. That was where my dad saw it last - and the new owner had painted it Black. Dad and i have been looking for it for a couple of years now. We dont have a VIN or a plate number, and only one old and very grainy photo. How does one go about getting their infor on your Facebook page? Id give just about anything to have that truck.
Great first episode! The 1955-57 Chevy trucks are good looking trucks! Such a teaser with my old car on shelf over your right shoulder. I think it's high time to actually find it. Grabber Blue 1970 Boss 302 my first car gone 40yrs Lost & Found Muscle Cars we found the City, State the car was in and who last owner was but not quite put a finger on the current owner. Working 100+ hours per week at a minimum average I simply have not found the time to follow up but think I am ready now . . . Not sure best way to tell my story but it's a long one. You put me in touch with the daughter of the guy who I sold it to that he actually never met. Looking through my family history found she is a distant relative that nobody in my family new existed. The guy I bought it from in 1976 his son part of story was brought home from hospital in it. Shocking how many people remember the car from the 100th year parade for Negaunee Michigan. I got a call from the person I bought it from and we swapped stories that would make one fall out of the chair. (Police Chase) and we both recognized certain features on car that were exact as we remembered them. Crazy stuff! So many people involved the the history. Would love to at least see the car and possible buy it back.
I just looked back on original Lost & Found Muscle Cars and found a looking for post on the '70 Boss 302 on 10/2/05. I memorized the VIN and never forgot it from back in 1976.
Great story and Congratulations! I was hoping you’d say the guy saw how important it was to you and instead sold it to you for 1/2 of what you offered him.
i was born in 1966 one day a friend stopped over to show me his 1st.car a 1970 chevelle with a 396 so i went for a short ride after that my dad said you've had your fun teenage boy's have no buisene in a fast car & refused to let me have a car living under his roof. now 58 i still feel robbed of my youth.
WOW glad chris got his truck back but damn having to give up his 57 chevy for it mustve have hurt Is the restoration going to be documented on youtube if so i want to sub to the channel and follow the build
I would love to find my father's 1957 Chevy Belair four-door . Is black with a black and silver interior. 6 cylinder powerglide automatic. Yeah he traded it in 1973. At the long gone Coronet Dodge in Kirkwood Missouri. It might exist somewhere in the St Louis area
..that's a great story. ..but have to say by god that guy got the Killer Deal trading you that 57 2/10 for 57 Apache pickup. You got your truck back but you sure paid through the nose to get it back.
did that truck have a lot of fiberglass/bondo in the door step area? light blue dash, and the outside blue was metalic blue, but not a very good paint job and the body work was not great, if so I know the truck from 1984 to 86
That’s is when I got it from Terry Lay in Bernice. Yea after taking it down the steps had some bondo and the front hinge pockets has some bad patching. Outside was a blue lacquer. Light blue inside
So here is what I know. Daryl Holmes was my friend in school. We grew up in Texarkana Ar., not far from Bernice. Daryl his dad and twin brother get the truck I think from AJ Vans salvage yard. It was a bad, rusty, worn out. They rebuilt the original 235 and it had a three on the tree. Daryl and his dad painted it ( it was not a great paint job) Daryl would slather bondo on anything. I remember the doors not working well because of the bad repairs. Daryl put the rims on it. His dad was the manager of Whites Automotive in Texarkana (gone now) I rode in the truck many times. Daryl traded the truck for a 72 mustang. Daryl passed away in a house fire last I heard. He was a smoker. His brother Doyle Homes is probably the only family member left. The dash was sort of a sky/baby blue. Daryl has a Sparkomatic stereo in it, and I think (cant remember) but he has a woven seat cover on it. Does any of this connect??
It had a built 350 with 3 on tree when I got it. But the seat was the way it is in video. Doors worked good so maybe it isn’t the same but could be. It had bondo on front right fender above light. And they had bondo on a roof dent on passenger side. I didn’t know those dents were even there till I got it back. Look me up on face book I would love to learn more of its beginnings if it is the same truck.
I subscribed. I’m trying to remember the years, I’m thinking 82or 83, to 84ish. When he traded for the (non running) mustang he drove his dad’s old 69 Mercury. The 235 was slow, and I’m not sure how good the rebuild was, it ticked a lot. If I could see the dash I could ID it. When he had it it had the center chrome hub covers. I don’t remember the bed bottom, no flames back then. It seems like it had gauges under the dash.
Glad he got it back. No telling what would have become of it if he didn’t rescue it too. Can’t wait to see it in power tour, I love it.
It is coming along slowly but surely.
That’s true

@1957Chevytruckbuild I bet your parents was speechless when they saw your truck in the garage

Chris and I grew up together; that was our church in the background. I know recovering this truck meant the world to him.
You bet. Thanks man
Awesome to see this! Congrats on getting your truck back

Great! We'll have a new episode up tomorrow.
My first truck was lime green 58' Apache.
Straight six, three on the tree and the ole' foot pedal starter.
Cannot beat a good ole' Chevy!
Cool!

I remember this post on Lost Muscle Cars. This is my favorite find on the page! I'm glad I could hear the whole story.
Thanks .

This just makes my eyes watery😀
Put the truck on the road with modern suspension brakes and wheels , the original green paint might be cool too
Exactly hopefully will be driving this summer
I agree with all the modern upgrades but for nostalgia, I would paint it the exact same color, I would want everyone to recognize it as it was.
What a fantastic story and well done video! I can't wait to watch this channel explode in popularity!!! Looking forward to many more stories! Congrats Wes and Chris!
I'm originally from North Louisiana as well. Awesome story. I am glad he got his truck back.
Glad to see a Lost & Found Muscle Cars success story.

What part of Arkansas? I spent a lot of years in Arkansas
Huttig is where it was. 45 miles from my parents house in Dubach LA
The best thing you can do with that truck is trade back for the 210
Not even close. That car meant nothing to me.
Image when his parents see that truck again, I bet they will be speechless

Sounds like he got raked over the coals pretty good getting that truck back. Apparently it didn't touch his emotions that hard!😂
Bad part is I couldn't afford to buy it
