It's hard to imagine Genshin losing to Sonic. It's free, offers open world exploration, cool graphics, wide selection of characters and playstyle, lots of challenges, support multi-player with cross platform, big community, many popular voice actors, deep lore, new event every 2 weeks, and you can play musical instruments in-game. There are lots of features like island and house designing, card game and hide-and-seek event. The map is really big, you can tell that the landscapes, plants, and building structures are different from one country to another. You can also explore underground which goes very, very deep. Most playable characters have their own story event so they don't seem static at all. Each character has their own unique abilities: shortening assigned exploration time, boosts cooking, lowering stamina consumption on activities, reduce prices, boosts fishing, exploration skills (flying, running on water, detecting resources, picking up resources from afar).

God of War: Ragnarok is better. Not only do the characters look fantastic (as well as the graphics), but also the brutality is so good and real looking. I prefer a game that is at least hard, where you can't pay to win immediately (not saying that GI is pay to win game, but paying DOES ruin the game and makes it way more easier. Ruins the game entirely, also I may like Anime, but I am not a fan of the characters.) I also want to mention that GI is a single game, while God of War has been here for a while. Same goes for literally any other game that was being voted for, they have their originals, have been here longer so more players are used to them. Also the "strange" clothing that some of the GI characters wear are just... Way too revealing, like one of them that has a tiny skirt to the point that if she jumped, you could see. //Also the fact that mostly guys play the game due to the female characters and how annoying Paimon actually is, i think it is self explanatory why I am not a fan.//

It has beautiful music, visuals and even the AI is fantastic (except for Reindeer who are dumb, but that can happen in any game). Never have I seen a game use their entire gameplay based on AI purely, the fact that the creatures have "personalities" and even each looks unique (not even counting the fact that even though you weren't the a certain area before, there is always something happening. Not just creatures being spawned and immediately attacking you or running away, they just walk around or fly around. You can even see some of them eat, sleep and other stuff, and the fact that a simple AI is doing all of this is just fascinating.)

Honestly, in the heat of all this, we all just kinda forgot that this is a generally meaningless award and this is just to see which game the majority liked. It turned into "vote against this one" "vote against that one" "stupid amount of anti's" shit show.
I didn't even know the extent of these guys bitch-slapping each other until *after* it ended -.-
This is just my personal opinion and anyone who finds this has no reason to argue with me about my opinion.
I don't think Genshin is that bad.
Genshin is really pretty and the characters and stories are cool. I voted for Frontiers and was hoping others would too, but the only thing that Genshin has over Frontiers is that it's a mobile game, you can play it just about anywhere.

@@Gabriel-lf9rt actually, miHoYo does bribe players. Those are content creators, it has been revealed that they did it and literally told the creators "not to tell and keep it secret." There have been one live content creator on twitch that got the "gift from Paimon" getting 1,000 of said currency.
I still partially stand by my point as they did it once already, and we don't fully know if they would do it again. Giving rewards after winning is... Kinda suspicious on it's own, not to forget that it has happened where players received "gifts" in GI for winning in "Best Mobile Game". I haven't seen many games do it, and if they did then it was minor or like fixing/developing new thing in-game.

Btw, I don't need too much point considering that the awards were supposed to be for games that came out in 2022 and not 2020 like Genshin Impact. It would have been same as if Rain World would have been in while being created in 2017, which doesn't make sense.
Not to mention how badly the rest of the games had been even though their ratings are good, Elden Ring, God of War and even Stray didn't get to half while Sonic frontier was barely at half. Also not to mention that some of the countries weren't even involved with the bloody voting, considering that they haven't even known about it until now which is odd if the rewards are supposed to be public and not only American.

It's hard to imagine how Genshin Impact would lose to Sonic Frontier. Graphics, story, gameplay, lore depth, popularity, music, number of active players, Genshin Impact is better than Sonic Frontier in any aspects. Sonic fans insist that Sonic Frontier has the best OST compared to other games, but even Steam Awards 2022 says Final Fantasy Remake Intergrade, a 2020 game, has better soundtrack than Sonic Frontier 🤔

While I validate your opinion by a miniscule, it doesn't change the fact that Genshin shouldn't even be in the category since not only it came out two years ago now that alone is a "hoax" since the Goty awards are supposed to be about games that come in out that specific year so it's not clearly apart of the requirements, I feel the fact they sugar coated players by sending them primogems obviously hard core sonic fans to heart and began the overall debat and so on. However I played genshin a few times before the 1st anniversary till eventually years prior. I did more over find genshin a overall fun game to play, although to heart I've always been a sonic fan, so not to put hate on your comment, I just personally like sonic more my last thing I'll say is The sonic fandom isn't entirely toxic it was mainly the fact that I speak for all sonic fans when I say this. In the recent ten years or so sonic games became lackluster where it was a gamble whether this was a good sonic game, or was it going to be another full of dog water. Some of the fans did go over the top I shall admit but they like me were jus excited to Sonic getting his spotlight back after years of controversial games we were all proud and happy of the blue blue finally making his debut. So while I do understand some of the fans hated the fact that genshin won I was just happy enough that sonic has kept everyone captivated again while becoming more knowing. Hoyoverse never promised anything or even asked the players to vote, why would hard core Sonic fans have to make a fuss about them giving the primogems to Genshin players as appreciation? Sega also did the same, by giving free DLC, and even worse, both Sega's and Sonic's official accounts asked their fans to vote. And this free DLC was announced few days prior to Steam Awards 2022, in which SF was nominated in best OST category. It was a lot worse but did anybody make a fuss? Of course no, only Sonic fans do this to other communities.
Also "getting excited" doesn't justify toxicity towards other communities. If you have complain about your game being lackluster, tell the devs. If you have complain about the voting, tell the committees. You guys only have yourselves to blame. I honestly didn't care about the vote, since Genshin already won last year and it was likely we would get some primogems since Genshin became nominated (it's an obvious marketing strategy to attract more players to me). But those "excited" Sonic fans just had to trash talk Genshin players and spread hoaxes about bribery especially on reddit and twitter, forcing me to vote. Don't blame others for throwing dirt at you when you did it first.

It's hard to imagine Genshin losing to Sonic. It's free, offers open world exploration, cool graphics, wide selection of characters and playstyle, lots of challenges, support multi-player with cross platform, big community, many popular voice actors, deep lore, new event every 2 weeks, and you can play musical instruments in-game. There are lots of features like island and house designing, card game and hide-and-seek event. The map is really big, you can tell that the landscapes, plants, and building structures are different from one country to another. You can also explore underground which goes very, very deep. Most playable characters have their own story event so they don't seem static at all. Each character has their own unique abilities: shortening assigned exploration time, boosts cooking, lowering stamina consumption on activities, reduce prices, boosts fishing, exploration skills (flying, running on water, detecting resources, picking up resources from afar).
Maximum fax this guy is spitting, I am F2P and I enjoy it more than most games, even if they are like 60 dollars.
If so elden ring beats genshin in most of these points. The losses are unimportant because those are filler.

God of War: Ragnarok is better. Not only do the characters look fantastic (as well as the graphics), but also the brutality is so good and real looking. I prefer a game that is at least hard, where you can't pay to win immediately (not saying that GI is pay to win game, but paying DOES ruin the game and makes it way more easier. Ruins the game entirely, also I may like Anime, but I am not a fan of the characters.)
I also want to mention that GI is a single game, while God of War has been here for a while. Same goes for literally any other game that was being voted for, they have their originals, have been here longer so more players are used to them.
Also the "strange" clothing that some of the GI characters wear are just... Way too revealing, like one of them that has a tiny skirt to the point that if she jumped, you could see.

Though I do think that Rain World should have received at least one award. The game came out in 2017 and has been great ever since, the upcoming DLC will also attract the old players (or even the players that are still playing it to this day, like me for example.) The rating of the game is very good on Steam, usually the hate comments come from people who started the game, got killed and then rage quitted or people who didn't play the game whole. It has beautiful music, visuals and even the AI is fantastic (except for Reindeer who are dumb, but that can happen in any game). Never have I seen a game use their entire gameplay based on AI purely, the fact that the creatures have "personalities" and even each looks unique (not even counting the fact that even though you weren't the a certain area before, there is always something happening. Not just creatures being spawned and immediately attacking you or running away, they just walk around or fly around. You can even see some of them eat, sleep and other stuff, and the fact that a simple AI is doing all of this is just fascinating.)
@@DaniesHere It’s like among us, rainworld have a very high quality as the enemies are incredibly detailed and smart but it had a big dlc last year so it’s fair. Maybe genshin was in the votes because it is added on a lot.
