Brilliant piece of work and well done matey, thanks for making this video.
Only a suggestion, when using the casting box I cut razor thin lines from the piece outward to toothpick sized holes that release the air when the metal is going in, I have never had partial fills and the lines are too thin to leak liquid metal. I learned this from Andrew Berry At the bench casting video.
    Hopefully this helps. 😊

  • @narancs5

The details came out really nice.
How hot is this gas furnace? I read that aluminium melting point is roughly 660°C, I set my electric furnace to that but the cans did not do anything other than smoking off the paint. I set it to 730°C and the cans melted but the surface tension seems to be pretty big and it doesnt track details in the mold very well. You dont seem to add anything to the molten metal, is it just the higher temperature which helps it flow better?

the material that is solid at first when you leave the ingots in the vat and then melts, is wax or some kind of solid fat ?
