I can see why you might not like the lip trays, but for a blind dehydrator, they are a lifesaver. I love dehydrating my homemade bone broth, and the lip trays make it possible for me to do it

I didn't realize it was even possible to dry something too much! This is news to me. lol I'm not sure why. I think I would do the powdering method which makes perfect sense to me. Thanks for this info!!

Most things you can't really over dry - but leathers and jerkies are the exception.

I tried doing past sauce and I think I did too long and couldn't seperate the parchment paper and had to trash it 🙄 never heard of the other paper ,Thanx 👍

Lining parchment papers with some oil could prevent the papers from absorbing water from the fruit leather. I'd have a problem with Teflon on anything.

    • @ThePurposefulPantry

Lining it with oil means you cannot store it.

    • @sishrac

@@ThePurposefulPantry Actually, if the fruit roll is going to be vacuum-sealed anyway and hopefully not stored for years, that negligible amount of oil used for lining has very little chance of going rancid in the absence of oxygen.

Hi darcy im young and i once made strawberry fruit leather but i couldnt roll it because it was to dry and i was just wondering what kind of oil to use because mine was sticking on the tray

Your age doesn't hold you back ;) I don't use oil, ever, and you can add applesauce to help it not stick. I also gave other tips in this video to help, too.

Grind it up, mix in some edible glitter, bet it's nice on a cocktail.
