This episode came out at such a crazy coincidental time for me. I was born a premature baby and I grew up having large scars across my body. Growing up I had severe body image issues (and I still do) because it’s something people would talk about in front of me (some kids thought I was pregnant because of how the scar went across my stomach and shaped my body) and it wasn’t something I could magically fix overnight. This past weekend, I was finally able to get surgery done for it (after being on a waitlist for 2 years, I had it done for both my mental and physical health because I also had a lot of problems inside of me that needed to be fixed) and although I know it’s going to be a long recovery for it, I know it’s going to make a positive difference for me in the long run 😊🤍
I LOVE your approach towards acne, “my face is still there” - such a good way to put it! I am just breaking out and about to meet someone tomorrow so this is so helpful ❤️!
you’re like one of the top people i think of when i think of naturally gorgeous people. i could not imagine you ever thinking you look bad bcs that’s literally not physically possible Fernanda you’re literally perfect girl and btw your podcasts & specific topics always come at a great time… this really helped me ❤️
1. Make a list to figure out where my insecurities stem from, and challenge them. 2. Make a list of my qualities, strenghts and values to learn to love who I am and realize how amazing I am.
Last year I used to compare myself a lot even though I was physically in good conditions because I saw that people of my age were so tiny and skinny so I started eating less and exercising more but then I realised that those girls were actually eating unhealthy and exercising so much without resting. This year I feel so fit and I’ve learnt to love myself and accept myself.your podcast has helped me so much and taught me that its all about balance.thank you so much!!SHE SPEAKS TRUTH❤❤
In order to have a positive outlook in life, you have to take care of yourself meaning eat healthy, exercise according to your energy, and listen to your body. Of course, sleep is also necessary.
I am always looking forward to a new episode :) … Fern, could you maybe post another episode next week or something to the topic: “how to have a It-girl / hot-girl summer 2024” or “how to stop overthinking if you are already doing your best” or to the topic: “body language, how to talk to people with confidence (for people struggling to “stand up for what they mean” for example at work)”
I think this topic is very important to talk about ❤ thanks Fernyy🥰 Ive gained so much weight this year and can't fit in my clothes, my legs are full of ingrown hair scars, etc, so im reaaally trying not to focus negatively but to do my best to accept it rn and take care of myself to feel better😊
Thank you Fern! I appreciate that you are helping many out there who need to be reminded that they will and are forever beautiful! 💌 Let's keep spreading the love
Omg I've been expecting a video like this for such a long time so when I got the notification I felt so happy. I struggle with an ed and body image in the last 3 years so I'm so excited ro here yiur point of view because I really want to overcome this💗
So happy to see this Fern❤ I’ve been working on glowing up, not only physically but entirely and I really am having a tough time coming to terms with the changes when I still feel the same sometimes so this is so so on time for me. Thank you so much. Lots of Love from Guyana 🇬🇾 ❤❤
I really need a conversation with a stranger, I've lost lots of friends and I haven't been socializing that much, also I'm so happy you made this video and I've struggled with body confidence so thanks for making this video, I love youu ❤
yayayaya this is so good fern!! your vids always help me so much and always make my day im so glad you posted a vid about this because this is a topic that has been very near and dear to my heart for a long time now ❤❤
I needed this and I didn't even know I did. This video really helped me ❤ My so called "friend" had called my chest flat and it made me feel a little insecure about it. She basically called me flat so I just said whatever because I didn't know how to respond. Another time in school a boy had called me flat. Honestly I didn't really care about his opinion because I didn't even know him well. He had just been in my classes for a while. But, it feels different when your own friend says something like such to make you feel insecure. They should be making you feel more confident. Honestly I should probably cut her out of my life. As a muslim someone told me that, that same "friend" had said they wanted to pull of my hjab. I don't know what to believe anymore... She kept reassuring me she would never say anything like that. Do you think I should stop talking to her? Well anyways, enough of my sad story. This really helped me think better of myself! You have such a soothing voice to listen to. You are very pretty and inspiring! ❤
People say things they don't think about before saying it. More likely they wouldn't say it to make you feel insecure and more likely than not they are insecure of themselves that's why they tell you things that are hurtful, that way they bring you to how they feel about themselves, less confidence and insecure. They want you to feel the same way they do. And yes, I would advice you to remove people that doesn't make you feel good about yourself. Toxic people doesn't need a good person like you. Remember you are beautiful the way you are. ❤
To complement this episode, I would like to share some tips that have helped me A LOT in overcoming facial dysmorphia and image distortion. 1. Seek inspiration from celebrities and people who have features similar to yours in some way, and it doesn't have to be just one person; there can be several (since no one will ever be exactly like you). For example, I use Gigi Hadid and Jennifer Lawrence as inspiration because they have a round face and full cheeks like mine, Taylor Swift because her eyes and lips are small and well-defined like mine, Devon Aoki because her lips turn down, creating a unique facial expression, and Blake Lively, who has a bulbous nose. This helps add "value" to your own features and can make you feel better. 2. Observe celebrities or people you compare yourself to without makeup, usually through paparazzi photos, or see how they perceive themselves. See how they just look normal people. Acne scars and spots, wrinkles, texture, frizzy hair, etc. For example, Megan Fox is widely considered one of the most attractive women in the world, but she has undergone various cosmetic procedures because she never felt sufficient and has frequently stated that she has image distortion, showing that physical appearance does not determine self-love. Bella Hadid has cellulite and bloating just like a normal human being, and she remains wonderful. 3. learn how to do makeup and style your hair and clothes properly according to your face and body shape. I recommend watching videos by channels such as "dear peachie" or others that talk about these topics. You need to accept yourself in order to improve, otherwise, changing these things will not work. hope it helps in some way 🤍
Hi Ferenda love you thanks for this video, if you could I would loveee it if you could do a video on how to cope with insecurity in general not specifically body image but just feeling insecurity
My body image issue is crazy wisdom I who created light I who looked in the fluxing light that was remanifested by the sound of my voice I lost my ego the reality being I was once Divine.
