I gotta say, everytime I see one of his videos I smile. You can tell he just has a love for headphones and helping people find them. Continues to be my favorite Headphone "go-to" and one of my favorite overall you tubers. Thank you so much hifiguy for helping me out with my questions. And making my spare time so much better
Asad the great not necessarily, he is still an honest reviewer. the new beats studio does improve but the prejudice already exists in almost all audiophiles' head thinking that beats are total garbage.
Yee Hang Chan My brother just bought a pair of new studios and I bought a pair of $100 audio technica ath pro500mk2 and my headphones blew his pair out of the water in terms of audio quality. I try them each year and they sound muddy in comparison to other audiophile brands like sennheiser, akg, audio technica, etc.
As in improvement I meant in comparison with the previous version of beats studio. People often buy it for its look rather than its sound quality. Seriously, I use ATH-M50 and Sennheiser Momentum On Ear on the streets and AKG Q701 at home for listening pleasures, still, whenever I see people wear Beats, I will till turn my head and look at them. This is how good they look. I am not going to buy one of those though, I rather get a pair of Sennheiser Momentum for the price.
Yee Hang Chan yeah I get what you are saying. I believe the main purpose of a headphone is to sound good. Looks are very low down the list but many think the opposite.but still I feel the m50 and the momentums do look really nice in a more mature kind of way,
I am eagerly awaiting part four of this series and hope you feel better soon, Mike, as per your FB post earlier last week. Also, if you feel up to the task and the material is satisfactory, please piece together another update video; I really enjoyed your past updates, and would enjoy another installment. Thank you, bud!
yah like wise mike, i so happened to have my gigantic portable rig in my possession at the time i was at the apple store, and i tried the B&O play and i was SHOCKED, such a good headphone, most certainly one of the best closed back portable headphone out there , I'm glad you're exposing more people to it, such a great product can't go unnoticed
Can you please do another beats solo hd drenched or matte color so I can see which ones look the best . I really like ur videos and have been waiting !!
Hello, Hifiguy528. I have a question, how would you rate the sound quality of the Beoplay H6 vs the K845BT? I can buy both at a rather cheap price. The AKG K845BT at 160 euros and the H6 at 245 euros. Thank you!
HI Mike, can you please let me know your opinion about the Denon D600 vs B&W P7 va momentum. I believe that the d600 has better sound than the other 2, but looks like it is only me that likes the D600. I dont know why D600 doesnt get the credit in the audiophile community. I think 600 is one of the best sounding balanced headphone. Tell us your opinion about these 3. Thanks
Probably the D600 doesn't get credit because (it's a great can don't get me wrong) the earlier D5000 were a better headphone than the D600, and the D600 replaces the D5000. People like InnerFidelity thought the newer models of the Denons not good enough to actually replace the older D5000. And btw between P7 Momentum and D600, P7 all the way.
Would you even consider trying the newer Skullcrushers? It's tough to find a decent review of them on youtube, and Skullcandy pulls critical reviews off their site.....
Help me please Hifiguy! B&O H6 = not enough bass for me (but everything else is perfect!!). Focal Spirit Classic =not portable enough, kind of too fancy looking. Sennheiser Momentum =not portable enough, not a huge fan of the look. Beats look to much like kids' toys with all that shiny plastic. B&W P7 looks too ugly. I want to find the perfect closed back, around ear, portable/ semi portable headphone for me with amazing sound quality and good looks. Thanks
FACT! you can not appreciate true hifi sound if you think beats headphones sound great. Also a more expensive version of beats audio b&o so over rated. That so laughable it's untrue Also you should of pointed out the best headphones for travel "if your such a audiophile" the sound magic e10's best part about them you can get them for £28.
I'm with you . How can he talk about hd audio and have a high music player and dac's and think beats sounds great . I have the cheap monoprice8323 that sound better than beats .his Credibility down hill for me
+Mark Ewing You are both ignorant. One can appreciate hi-fi sound for accuracy and naturalness, but also at the same time appreciate a more fun sound signature that's not necessarily the most accurate. I prefer listening to certain types of music on less accurate headphones because certain types of sound signatures simply make it sound better. Oh and claiming your 15 dollar monoprice headphones sound better than beats, and then saying his credibility went down for you,is quite hypocritical. You haven't even heard any of the newer beats models, yet, you're bashing them. I dare you to try the Solo 2, in fact, look at the measurements, which are better, far better, than on any other headphone of that type in the price range. Go to innerfidelity and see for yourself if you're too lazy to go out and actually try them out. Those measurements don't lie and show how well engineered those headphones are, even if you don't like their sound signature. Just in case you decide to insult me with "oh you can't appreciate hi-fi", let me just put here that as an engineer I have far more knowledge about this than most people. As a 15 year long audiophile I have a lot of experience. As someone who has designed and built electrostatic headphones that rival the best of the best in the world, I know a thing or two. Not to mention I've owned pretty much every headphone worth owning from 20 to 2000 dollars so I know very well how something should sound at a certain price range and how much a certain headphone is worth. I have here on my head the Beyerdynamic T1's plugged into 2000 dollars worth of Amp/DAC and I can still respect those Beats headphones for what they achieve, instead of mindlessly bashing them without actually ever putting my hands of them. Sorry, but I just find this circle-jerking of beats hate incredibly annoying, because at this point, the only people who hate them are those who have no experience with them whatsoever, and saying "i hate beats" or "beats suck" has become a way for people to show that they know something about headphones...which is totally untrue now, because in most cases, it's actually said by people who know nothing and are desperate to get some credibility from their fellow elitist ignorant friends who have zero experience with headphones as well. It might have been true 5 years ago that Beats were horrible and deserved to get bashed, but not today. Even hard-core audiophiles who would have never liked them before, tried the new models and agreed they're actually very good nowadays.
Deuce Summers THANK YOU!!! Pls. feel free to reach out anytime. :)
mike your eyes shined when you started talking about beats :x
this guy's audiophile credibility goes down whenever he shows excitement over beats products

Hey mike, I've been watching your videos for a while and I'm wondering how your car audio setup is. Can you do a vid on that or is it stock?
Why do you like the H6 more than the P7? Do you find the P7 muddy? Personally I own them and love them, so I'm curios for your opinion.

I have studio's and b&o H6, i have to sell one of these 2, what do you think, i keep the beo or beats?
Keep The Beats!
Ofc. keep the H6's ... better sound, better quality, better company, better everything - it shouldn't even be aloud to ask this question :P
Beat is better ,also better warranty
