Just wanted to share- of all of the headphone reviews on RUclips, yours are the best. You make fantastic quality videos which have great sound quality. Good luck to you, keep up all of the good work because you're fantastic at making these review videos.
Well articulated review. Nice. I did a compare with the P7 , the Momentum and the H6. The H6 won me over for its space, transparency, rhythm and realism. Eventually I chose the AKG 550 which are very nice, maybe more beautiful , but, I have a feeling that I will come back to the H6
Great review. I tried these at the Apple Store. They were perfect in every way except bass. The bass was a little too light for me. The Apple Store was somewhat noisy and it was a reflection on how they sound with mobile use. I wonder how the will sound with a clean bass boost equalizer and amp (like the fiio e) or just using the equalizer (or equ) app for the iPhone?
Haven't tried EQ'ing the bass. I don't like when I have to add intensity to the frequency because I am either stuck with only boosting the bass which usually adds clipping distortion if the speaker cannot handle anymore emphasis or I am stuck reducing all frequencies other than the bass which makes the midrange and treble sound uneven because the filter points in the equalizer is too little. I much prefer reducing too much emphasis in the bass or treble.
You create great reviews on your test products. I have the P5's and "maybe" get the P7's. I'll try it out at the Apple Store. I'll try the B&O H6 at the Store as well.
Wonderful review!! Keep up the great job work. Buying a pair soon from B &O . Confirmed via B& O corporate they have a 2 year warranty when purchased direct from a B & O dealer.
One thing to keep in mind this is not directed to you this is a directed at as a general statement speakers and headphones me emulate concert surround movies around but for the sake of this channel concert surround is a one-shot deal. Or is based on location open air Field or cathedral or concert hall the acoustic properties of any presentation no matter how slight will always be unique and truly may never be reproduced the same way again actually. When you're in a concert hall even in front row seating you figure you contend with the crowd noise or your chances of getting even a front row seat the perspective of sound is completely different. I appreciate the headphones that try to emulate being able to have a large soundstage and being able to discern them across that stage. But truthfully speaking as good as any headphone is it will never truly replace why performance ever! It will just come as close as possible in a more isolated environment. One thing I would like to see as a comparison in your tests and this is well-known one of the most difficult instruments for a speaker or headphone to emulate or reproduce is the piano truly it is I think it will be interesting to see what your opinions are of headphones or speakers when listening the piano music specifically as it will put what's your viewing through its paces big-time
I just picked up the H6 2nd gen and they sound amazing right out of the box. But I'm still itching to try the Master&Dynamic MH40. I love the H6, but am curious if the mh40 could be even better... Thoughts?
TheGamingAudiophile On a side note, I picked up the H6 2nd gen after not being fully satisfied with my AKG 551. I did enjoy the stage and clarity, but it was lacking on the low end and I found the sound a bit too bright for me. Also, while the stage of the 551 was wider, I find the separation and articulation of the H6 to be superior. I know that I will likely not get this same level of articulation with the MH40, but for more modern music (Trap, EDM, Dance, etc) I feel the dynamic sound of the MH40 will more than make up for it. Thanks again for your in-depth reviews. You really help take a lot of the guesswork out of the process for people like myself. Do you have a Paypal?
Picked up a pair of these Gen 1, for $20. Great sound for my use. Smooth and relatively refined. Maybe slightly congested in micro details, but the evenness in response I haven’t heard in other headphones I’ve had, maybe the Bose soundtrue is close but they have annoying cable microphonics
Hey TheGamingAudiophile, and thanks for this great review, this just one among many. I was hoping you could offer me some advise, as I'm in the final stages of buying a (for me) premium pair of headphones. I've narrowed it down to B&O H6, Sennheiser Momentum 2 and B&W P7, leaning toward the H6:s or the M2:s. I listen mostly to soft/calm singer-songwriters/acoustic, clean guitar ambient and miscellaneus vocal-centered music, and will mainly use the headphones in an open office environment (no need for noise cancellation, "ok" noise isolation suffices). I seldom listen to high volume of "fat base" music. Comfort for long-time wear is important (also: glasses!), but I will try out all three prior to buying as this seems to be quite a personal preference (although reviews rave about the H6 for that factor). Regarding only the sound stage, which of the three do you consider the most appropriate for the genres I tend to listen on? Thanks alot, and again, great reviews!
David Friberg I'd recommend the M2 because you favor acoustical music and the M2's midrange tuning is just a joy to listen to. Can't go wrong with the H6 though, but the midrange isn't as inviting as the M2 and has a more colder approach.
When you were describing the sound of thr Beoplay H6, was that with or without your JDSLabs O2? I would like to know because I'm not sure if I can justify a $150 headphone amplifier in order to fully appreciate the H6.
TheGamingAudiophile Thank you for replying. Should I invest in an amp in order to experience the sound quality that you described in this review? I am currently using the original Sennheiser Momentum (Over-Ear), so I've never needed to use a headphone amp.
do you like these more than the focal spirits you did a review on. i am on the fence of either the h6 h8 or the focal spirits. sound stage reproduction is the most important thing to me but i do fly a bit so something with enough volume so i can enjoy the music on the plain would be great. tell me what you think
michael mccartha The H6 has the biggest soundstage of the 3 you've mentioned. The Focal Spirit has the most natural presentation. The H8 has the most pleasurable presentation.
For mainly Rock/metal music but secondly other genre's what headphones are better B&O H6 or Bowers & Wilkins P7?Unfortunately I'm not close to any stores to check these out and don't have enough money to buy and try both. I do like a little more bass that B&O lacks a little on but I do have an Fiio Alpen 2 amplifier to boost the bass up some and of course comfort is pretty big,I have V-Moda LP and they hurt my ears bad after less than an hour use. Hope that is a good description to help answer my question and comment as a whole.
TheGamingAudiophile Should i get these, the momentum 2.0s, p7s, or the original momentums? I do want them to have solid bass but not overwhelming and and overall fun sound signature. I want them to be comfortable for long studying sessions and I have medium sized ears. Also, price is important and id rather spend less if i dont have to.
One more thing this is a generalized statement be at headphones are home audio speakers or headphones, both remind me of emulators on a computer. The reason I say this is simply such that they both reproduce something albeit mimic what it supposed to or emulate such as the acoustic chamber of a guitar or the deep sounds of a kick drum. Just like an emulator mimics a piece of software and or hardware that used to run a piece of software or still does. Point I make is people consider themselves audiophiles. But if you look at things in that perspective what is an audio file measuring of decibels or the true quality of reproduced music? I guess it varies from channel to channel and I think you review the quality of something not the science also much and that's a good thing.
Yep, nothing is really ever to going to mimic the sensational experience that we get from reality if the physical size of the reproducing instrument or device is so small. There's going to have to be compromise, but the brain is an amazing tool and can find enjoyment or sometimes be fooled into enjoyment no how unrealistic it appears.
I already own a pair of Sennheiser Momentum over-ear and my genre of music is metal (metalcore, deathcore, heavy, viking, folk, death, sometimes power, etc.) I enjoyed them until I realized...they're just TOO bassy for me. I mean, metal IS bassy, but I'm not a huge fan of this feature...I'd like to listen to a more detailed sound and was wondering which, between B&W P7 and B&O H6, would suit my taste better than Sennheiser. Another thing: I use the headphones only while commuting on buses and underground, so what's the noise isolation of B&O H6 and B&W P7? Which one is bettere? I've read TONS of reviews about the two sets of headphones but I really can't pick one and here in Italy I can't find anyplace to try either B&W or B&O in order to be able to compare the sounds... What are your opinions in regards? Thank you very much for your time| ^_^
+Agata Marè Between the two, the H6 might suit you better because of its more analytical sound. Another great option that might be even better is the ATH-MSR7.
Do the H6 encase the whole ear fully? Also, with other headphones that are on ear I have noticed that after a few hours they begin to feel uncomfortable and hurt my ears, what is the case with this in terms of the H8?
Cameron Bashford The H6 goes around the ears. The H8's are comfortable throughout surprisingly. The cups and pivot and swivel so the onward pressure toward the ears are nearly insignificant.
TheGamingAudiophile haha alright. hopefully not to much of a difference. but value wise $350 momentums vs a $500 beoplay h8 big difference. look forward to your thoughts. If it is indeed a superior I'll definitely grab a pair =).
I use to commute B&W C5's but for my house I am trying to buy a really quality pair of headphones that also look nice, and are specially comfortable for long hours. Between P7 and H6 what would you recommend? Appreciate
so you would say that for the price, between H6, H7, H8 and P7 in comfort in sound and everything the best pair to buy would be H6 2nd Gen? thank you +TheGamingAudiophile
+TheGamingAudiophile I mean I listen to a very big variety of music from hip-hop/rap to just pianos, a lot of alternative too. mostly alternative music
The H6 is very in-efficient for being a portable. If you value a more linear and clear sound, the H6 is my recommendation over the P7. However, for portable usage I tend to gravitate toward the P7 more.
Instead of doing a verses of the B&W p7 vs BO please do give a side-by-side comparison especially the tremble response. You did mention the P7 had an amazing response for tremble it will be interesting to see a comparison of how the BO compare. I own the P7 and I love them quite a lot they are so good they rival my home theater which is absolutely excellent. Insomeways it's even better. I appreciate it I think you for your reviews they are good though I think you should cover other brands and even include the Bose that people talk about. The most people would not agree about Bose this quality or lack of depends on who you talk to they are a formidable influence in the audio world as they do rake in 2 billon dollars a year annually. It just would be interesting your perspective
I did a review on the Bose QC25. In comparison of treble response, the H6 more emphasized around the 8-10khz with a narrow peak while the P7 has less treble overall, but it's more extended and balanced. The resolution is exceptional on the P7 and a bit tizzy or hazy on the H6 if I have to nitpick here.
+Paranoid Android As far as i've gathered in my long research of these. And please understand this is from my researched, i've only tried the H7 and H8. Though I like the sound signature, they still suffer greatly from the "wireless" sound. Gen 1: The Bass is more the adequate, and in tracks with large bass, they can actually be very powerful in the low end. But they don't always show it like other bass lover headphones. Most of the time they prefer a brighter tone with bass that just fills the cracks, rather than covers everything else up. Also, i'm told that a portable amp will help increase the bass noticeably. I mention bass because it's the biggest difference between the two. Gen 2: Bass is ever so slightly boosted so it is noticeably more forward. And the impedance is lower so they do not need an amp to run at higher volumes straight from a portable source. But like all headphones, a portable amp will almost always improve the sound. Once properly amped, as far as i've read from multiple people, both generations are almost identical. Again, the first generation has a wisp less bass, making it sound clearer, a little more open, and slightly more detailed/bright. And Gen 2 has that ever so slight bass boost that pronounces itself more. This slightly reduces many of the great qualities of the H6s, but people say that for more modern music it's a very very good trade off. I for one, have my LCD-2 and MH40s at home, so if I ever want monster bass, i'll grab those. But I ended up ordering the Gen 1 Graphite Blush editions for myself, because I want a brighter, more clear pair of portables that make details shine, while still making anything sound enjoyable (and they look amazing too). I might end up getting something like a Fiio e10k amp for them later. But i'll decide that once I receive them next week. Hope this helps.
+TheGamingAudiophile they refined the sound quality and added that touch of base that for me was lacking in the last gen, it gives me a sound signature that works for me with the genres of music I listen to its my new all rounder headphone, love to get your thoughts if you do decide to get em
Your vocabulary is exquisite!
This video was brought to you by a thesaurus!

Awesome video! Can't wait to see the Momentum 2.0 review.
This is an outstanding presentation. Extremely helpful!!! Now I will purchase an H6 in the next couple of days. Thanks!!!
Gregory Eason You're welcome.
Gregory Eason maybe you should check out more of his reviews..there a couple more interesting options out there..not that these aren't one of them
TheGamingAudiophile Could you do a comparison of the B&O H6 vs B&W P7?Can't decide,help,plz
If a headphone is Rich, that means it is colored.
+BCtechB go with p7
Marc Axelrod i try them both and i will go with p7, in my opinion p7 has better sound, like crystal clear and also higher better iso. in/out
+Nineq 96 Do the p7's leak allot??
Just some random guy Much heavier though. I have them now but I'm returning them since they're too uncomfortable.

Yes these colors are beautiful

Great video...You deliver your thoughts very well...Mine arrives Wednesday...Thanks
Nice review! Would you recommend H6 or Meze 99 Classics? Mainly for classical/soundtrack music at home and with a good amplifier.
TheGamingAudiophile what camera were u Using to shoot this video? The quality is outstanding
Nikon D3300.
I just picked up the H6 2nd gen and they sound amazing right out of the box. But I'm still itching to try the Master&Dynamic MH40. I love the H6, but am curious if the mh40 could be even better... Thoughts?
I liked them both. The MH40 is better for aggressive modern music and the H2 for acoustical and slower music
+TheGamingAudiophile You twisted my arm, lol. Just picked up a pair. I'll let you know how it goes.
jason starek Ok. Enjoy!
TheGamingAudiophile On a side note, I picked up the H6 2nd gen after not being fully satisfied with my AKG 551. Will u doing the review for beoplay 2nd gen ?
No.
+TheGamingAudiophile will these headpones be good for someone who likes to listen to drake?
Gies Houben Yea, they'll be fine. However, do not expect a lot of bass.
TheGamingAudiophile ooh oke so if I would want something with more bass I should be looking towards something like the beats pro?
Gies Houben Somewhat.
When you were describing the sound of thr Beoplay H6, was that with or without your JDSLabs O2? I would like to know because I'm not sure if I can justify a $150 headphone amplifier in order to fully appreciate the H6.
Pointless Potential With my Schiit Magni which sounds exactly the same, but has more power output than the O2.
TheGamingAudiophile Thank you for replying. Should I invest in an amp in order to experience the sound quality that you described in this review? I am currently using the original Sennheiser Momentum (Over-Ear), so I've never needed to use a headphone amp.
Pointless Potential A mid-range to higher-end smartphone will get you 90% there.

TheGamingAudiophile Hello! Could you please enlighten me about which would you prefer? The AKG K545 or the H6?
The H6.

spe2800 It's a toss up between the P7 and H6. H6 is a more open and neutral sounding while the P7 is more v-shaped and dynamic.
What do you prefer between the B&O H6, B&W P7 and the Sennheizer Momentums? And by the way nice review
P7 for modern music and H6 for acoustical.
PX or the H6 better for acoustic?
I Bought these recently and the sound is perfect but the ear cups are getting a bit too soft, do you know where I can buy a new pair of ear cups?
You can order them direct from the manufacturer.
TheGamingAudiophile Yeah, just checked on ebay and there aren't any, I'll be going back the manufacture to get them tomorrow, thanks!
How do the H6 DJ Khaled limited edition compare to the normal H6?
TheGamingAudiophile Should i get these, the momentum 2.0s, p7s, or the original momentums? I do want them to have solid bass but not overwhelming and and overall fun sound signature. I want them to be comfortable for long studying sessions and I have medium sized ears. Also, price is important and id rather spend less if i dont have to.
Momentum 2.
H6 or the B&W PX have a wider soundstage and better mids and highs ?
Those look so nice
If I plug these into a PS4 controller, will I be able to listen to games and talk to people? Thanks.
Can you also replace the B&O logo?you showed it with blue then silver.
spe2800 I set the video to black and white.

I heard that the dj khaled editions have better bass, have u tried those?
hizzle gd No, but I was told by a B&O rep that the H8 has similar tuning.
Could you tell me, if they can play REALLY loud?
Do you think it is still a great headphone to buy in 2019? I found it with a good price..
I already own a pair of Sennheiser Momentum over-ear and my genre of music is metal (metalcore, deathcore, heavy, viking, folk, death, sometimes power, etc.)
I enjoyed them until I realized...they're just TOO bassy for me. I mean, metal IS bassy, but I'm not a huge fan of this feature...I'd like to listen to a more detailed sound and was wondering which, between B&W P7 and B&O H6, would suit my taste better than Sennheiser.

+TheGamingAudiophile Marvellous, thank you very much for your kind reply! I will take a look into ATH-MSR7 as well! Thanks again! ^_^
Agata Marè You're welcome.
how do you rank the comfort level and isolation of the following: B&O H6; mh40; momentum over-ear 2.0; NAD VISO hp50; B&W P7? great thanks!
Most comfortable is the H6 followed by MH40 then M2 then HP50 then P7. Isolation is best on MH40 followed by P7 then HP50 then M2 then H6.
hey i have got it but it not working with Samsung phone is it only for i phone and i pad?
+Juma mulemba The microphone's full functionality is only with iOS devices.
TheGamingAudiophile so you prefer the H8 or H6 ?
Man I just got the momentum 2.0 I wonder if i should grab these lol.
I just picked up the Bang & Olufsen H8. I think the Momentum M2 might have a superior... definitely a rival so far...
TheGamingAudiophile Whaaaaaaaaaaatt a superior seriously? could you elaborate on it
I need more time... =)
TheGamingAudiophile haha alright. hopefully not to much of a difference. but value wise $350 momentums vs a $500 beoplay h8 big difference. look forward to your thoughts. If it is indeed a superior I'll definitely grab a pair =).
TheGamingAudiophile oh no the beoplay h8 is on ear. yikes...
how do they compare to meze 99 classics?
I just bought these and find the upper mids a tad shrill. Do you have and negatives after using them for a while?
Jamil Dhillon Yea, they're a bit too analytical for my taste outdoors.
TheGamingAudiophile Also find them a little sibilant when it comes to cymbals. You?
Jamil Dhillon I wouldn't say they introduce more than what's there, but they don't mellow it out and make more soothing.
so you prefer the mh40 over these?
What headphone has larger earpads, the Philips L2 or the B&O H6?
+Chopper Sickology L2.
Between these headphones and mh40 m&d what's better and a bit more bass?
+salazars94 H6 sounds clearer, but the MH40 has a harder hitting more present bass.
Can these be driven by 42mw?
how is the mic quality?
Would you recommend the h6 or the sennheiser momentum 2 on ear?
H6 2nd gen
Do these leak a lot of sound out if they are turned up?
+TheFreeMan Don't turn them up too much. You will damage what little hearing you have left. You will need that as you get older.
+Hukapung Yako well meme'd
What?
+TheFreeMan yes not that much but you can hear it. i prefer p7
Do these isolate well?
How do these stack up against the Oppo pm-3's in your opinion?
+Jay Drabsy The PM3's are more luscious sounding yet just as clean and detailed. H6 has a bigger soundstage tho.
I use to commute B&W C5's but for my house I am trying to buy a really quality pair of headphones that also look nice, and are specially comfortable for long hours. Between P7 and H6 what would you recommend? Appreciate
Or even H7 or H8 what do you recommend
+Andrés Linares H6 2nd GEN.Review coming for those soon. Love em' to bits!
so you would say that for the price, between H6, H7, H8 and P7 in comfort in sound and everything the best pair to buy would be H6 2nd Gen? thank you +TheGamingAudiophile
Andrés Linares Depends on what genres you listen to. All of them are stellar.
+TheGamingAudiophile I mean I listen to a very big variety of music from hip-hop/rap to just pianos, a lot of alternative too. mostly alternative music
Where did you order those from?
Nubian Emporer I got them straight from B&O's store.
Will u recommend this more than the b&w p7 cuz i tried the h6 and felt that it needed a amp cause it seemed like it needs more power to power it up..
The H6 is very in-efficient for being a portable. If you value a more linear and clear sound, the H6 is my recommendation over the P7. However, for portable usage I tend to gravitate toward the P7 more.
Since both are at the same price range, which one do u think is worth my money cause im forking out my own savings though...
Honestly they are both great. None is better than the other overall in my opinion.
I will have a hard time choosing the right choice
Okay, what genres do you listen to?
Can you get the H7 or H8 in that color ?
Unfortunately, it's only available for the H6.
+TheGamingAudiophile Damn !
Damn 2 !
Instead of doing a verses of the B&W p7 vs BO please do give a side-by-side comparison especially the tremble response.

They don't leak much sound.
what volume do you listen to these at?
TheGamingAudiophile have you tried the dj khaled ones?
jong lee No, but I was told there'e a bass increase.
Is this review of the first or second generation.
First.
TheGamingAudiophile Thanks for the reply!
TheGamingAudiophile Have you tried the second gen and if so what did you think of it compared to the first gen?
Hope this helps.
how are these for gaming?
Very good.
You cannot buy the H6 without a DAC/AMP. It sounds just about heaven once the you connect it to a sony Pha-1a
Does a dac also work with my phone?
What do you recommend me for headphones 500 $ and under ?
+سقها بس What genres do you primarily listen to? Do you want to use it outside or indoors?

+TheFijianGuy Hmmm. I just might. What's the difference?
+TheGamingAudiophile they refined the sound quality and added that touch of base that for me was lacking in the last gen, it gives me a sound signature that works for me with the genres of music I listen to its my new all rounder headphone, love to get your thoughts if you do decide to get em
TheFijianGuy Called my local B&O retail store and they don't have them yet. I'll keep in touch with them until they do.
