We’ve used this recipe for many years, but we’ve never found jicama at our local stores. This really is the BEST fish taco recipe anywhere.

These are Baja style fish tacos which I like better than Tampico style.
Put the lime in the microwave for a little while! You'll get much more juice from it :)

To make something a bit more "ripe" put the oven on to 200 degrees. Once reached the heat, turn the oven off, put say you had an avocado, put that in newspaper and put in the oven with oven door open, until soft enough for you. X
When you said you paid .33cents for your lime I gasped at how good a deal that was. I live in BC, Canada and where I live they are averaging about $1.29 to about a $1.50. Then lemons are usually $1.00!

You should try heating up your tortillas on a hot pan or if you can get a comal it kills me to see how un heated your tortilla is, do this Hilah it will change each and everyone one of your tortilla meals. I'm from Mexico BTW so trust me on this one ;)

This latest "raw" kick really grinds my nads. It's as if they've "discovered something magical." Really? I've been eating raw foods since I got my first pair of toofs. Big deal. I had a raw "sort of salad" today with cauliflower, broccoli, maters, and chunks of blue cheese, tossed with a balsamic vinaigrette, and I didn't do it because it's "in," I did it because I like broccoli and cauliflower (and blue cheese!!). LOL It went great with the smoked pork tenderloin, and the stolen-from-Hilah spicy tater salad. That stuff is *great*, girl!
Lime prices here are downright stupid. I've stopped buying them.
Snapper is seriously good fish. I love the stuff. In that taco, with all of those flavors, I can only imagine it being spectacular! I've gotta make a batch of these.

Yeah, I love raw vegetables in salads and things, but the idea that eating 100% raw diet is some magical diet trick is super annoying to me. Some raw, some cooked, a mix is best, I think, for overall nutrition!
Hilah Cooking some people only eat raw till 4("dinnertime"). I don't mind the idea of eating fully raw or raw at some point during the day. Wherever you can squeeze raw food in there is good.

8:32 Why is it important to cook the smaller pieces with the smaller pieces and the bigger ones with the bigger ones?
Because pieces of the same size will take the same amount of time to cook. That way, if you break one piece open to check if it's cooked yet, you can assume that all the pieces in the pan are at the same stage as that piece x
