I'm just beginning my bass journey so many of your videos are beyond me right now but I really enjoy hearing you play. Thank you for taking the time to share your talent.
Thank you. Don’t worry, I have loads more beginner lessons on my site and channel. Just have a browse and do let me know if you have any bass questions.
It all becomes clear and makes sense with his Music Theory For Bass Players Course. It’s awesome . I wishI had that course early on in my bass playing journey
Hi Dan. As always nice playing. I like the chord content myself, as it’s something I’m trying to learn. Sometimes I get a bit confused by lots of extra content. 😅 but it’s fun to see tangential thoughts pop in and out. I also like seeing content on how to get ideas for musical rhythms. And lastly any video that teaches me better “groove” by being able to really play 16th note divisions more cleanly, especially syncopated rhythms are appreciated.
I've been messing around with chords a bit lately, and the inversion bit is interesting... the thought process of wanting the F so you had to switch to mixolydian to get the "easy" chord is cool. I can see what you did, but I don't think I could have seen it to do it. I appreciate the food for thought, feels like a puzzle piece i can at least start to think about trying to fit.
❤ wow Oh my word Dan beautiful music mesmerising I stayed away from chords I didn't think I could manage them with my streatch But the way you have shown us I should manage it It's the sound I want I'm playing an Ibanez 700 fretless What a workout I could do with this video Thank you so much❤❤❤❤
Great lesson Dan! I’ll put this in the routine for sure. Question - I am always crossing up my fingers when shifting up and down the neck causing me to miss or hit a “bad” note. I am not always sure where to land which finger to allow me to shift again… landing my fingers in the right place. Do you have any lessons on shifting? Hope this makes sense.
I think I need to do a dedicated lesson on this. It's a good question! There are loads of ways really, depending on what you're playing but most of the time, you'll probably be leading with the first or second fingers. I'll do a lesson soon. Let me know if you have any specific questions or things you want to see.
@ Hi Dan… I am sure much of this is really knowing the bass line… but I would say a general lesson on chord progression shifts, fills, etc. how you assess a song and plan how/where to play. Much appreciated! Your lessons are great!
Thanks! Probably Waves ClA guitar or bass plugin or Valhalla Room for reverb. Or Soundtoys EchoBoy and/or Crystaliser. All plugins and it’s usually those!

You’ll be there before you know it. This was beyond me two gears ago as well.
It was beyond me to after a couple years I know what he’s talking about and playing and I can play exactly what he is.

I wish youtube and your channel existed 40 years ago. It would have helped me a lot.
Excellent! I love the peaceful sound of the chords being played over with delay and reverb.
Thank you so much for your lessons!! They are wonderful!
My pleasure! 🙏 Thanks so much.
This is very helpful. I get songs in just chord progression. So I’m trying to learn what I can do to fill space and “walk” to the next chord.
Your lessons have helped me so much, thank you for taking so much time to make this videos 🫶
You’re welcome! Glad they’re helping!
The tone you are getting here is so beautiful

Thanks. I actually have loads of lessons on 1/16ths and grooving on my channel. Might have to search a bit though!

Any consideration of simple fast power chords like punk rock type?
Good idea...
Dan you need to get hold of You tube as some advertising is kicking into some pretty nasty advertising.
I’m not sure I have any control over that whatsoever unfortunately. You can, however, complain about adverts you see (I think). What was it??
I will complain to you tube. It wasn't what you would want your 10 year old to see. An advert which then drops into another .
