Thanks for watching! While the DCTL technically supports a wider range, it’s still designed with Rec. 709 in mind. It might work in HDR, but I wouldn’t recommend it for critical HDR workflows, as the clipping logic isn't optimized for the extended brightness and shadow details. I may look into creating an HDR-specific version in the future.
Are these and other DCTL tools you make designed for Rec 709? Or if working color managed, do they assume a CST from scene space to Rec 709 prior to application of the DCTL?

Thanks for the video, if we are working in HDR the best thing to do would be to put a greyscale and adapt the clipping?
