Coming back to comment again to this song after years, because I need to point out that this song offers the "Catharsis" Aristotle was talking about and that's why metal helps your nerves. Every time I was enraged with someone (a specific person in particular?see previous comment) I would just come here and listen to this song dedicating it to them and calm my nerves some. Metal doesn't make you violent, it helps you take out those negative feelings through music.

First time I came across them it was this song, I was immediately hooked and have been my favourite band since. To see them in Eurovision was amazing. Incredible what these guys achieved in the meantime
Die raue, düstere Stimme des Lords passt einfach perfekt zu der atmosphärischen orchestralen Untermalung.
"Swan Songs" unterschied sich in einer besonderen Weise von den sonst so krachenden und stampfenden LOTL-Alben und entfachte ihre Magie auf eine ganz andere Art und Weise und genau das machte diese Platte für mich zu einem Spektakel.
Freue mich sehr auf "Swan Songs II" diesen Oktober. Lord Of The Lost haben mich bisher nie enttäuscht.
This song is like the antitheses of a love song, a hate song that one would dedicate to a special hated one.

Anyone also noticed the smiley face on the coffin at 0:49? Just above the man's head. Also, is it just me or are the two parts where Chris precisely describes the person's death by hanging (Your neck in a noose, my heart in a whirl) and the drowning part (One push, you're drowning in the boating late) just so graceful, I find them so poetic and beautiful.

I love it so MUCH!!! It's even as precious for me as "Lost in a heartbeat" thanks to which I discovered such a great band and a talented singer with the most touching Voice that makes my soul shiver!

such a powerful song and so true for some. I would have dedicated this song to a family member a few years ago, still would at times. Trying to mend the relationship still after 6 years. It's hard sometimes to deal with them.
September will be the 40th anniversary of the first time I was traumatized by a concussion from #DomesticViolence.
October will be the 30th anniversary of the day I escaped from that monster's physical abuse.
Having a TBI has irrevocably altered my life, my relationships, and my abilities - but I survive, at least in some small part by knowing that someday I (or my heirs) will see justice served, even if not in a courtroom.
Thank you, Chris for poetry that so eloquently expresses what us survivors feel - especially those of us who were traumatised before there were laws making domestic violence a crime.

The perfect balance of light and dark.
So ridiculous that they couldn't get entry to the US; I was looking forward to seeing them.
This was basically my theme song from mid September 2019 until sometime in January 2020. I had a lot of anger in that point in my life and felt like this about my job and a couple specific managers. I got over it, and life got much better when they closed for good March 27th 2020.
