my mom has been in the hospital for a few days now after she had been diagnosed with liver cancer not even 4 weeks ago, one day after we got tickets for a lotl show next month. every day when i left after visiting her, i told her something like "see you tomorrow" or "see you soon". same today. we all knew she was going to die, it could happen any second, she was just too sick and there was nothing any doctor could have done for her now, but it felt better to say this instead of farewell. a few hours ago we got the call that she passed, peacefully, without any pain, in her sleep. now i'm crying my eyes out, listening to this song again, but in the good way, knowing she's in a better place now and we will meet again someday. this band has helped me get through the darkest times of my life and i am unimaginably thankful for every song these guys have made, because i know their music will help me get through this as well. much love and respect for these beautiful, kind-hearted and incredibly talented human beings ❤
This is the first song I heard from Lord of the Lost 10 years ago. I've been a fan of them since then. Theses guys are so talented and their music quality only gets better over time.
It sure does !!!! And we all can help more people to know about them by telling all our freinds and posting them on facebook...oh, and by giving our freinds" Lord of the Lost "...CD's for birthdays and Christmas....
I found them quite by accident one day...my computer slipped and my hand hit buttons and WOW !!! These guys popped up on my screen, so I thought...well...I guess I'll listen...and now, they are one of my very favorite and loved groups....

My best friend died two days ago, and his brother told me that he wanted us to hear this song. I've been crying for a while but, actually this song helped me to smile and even started to sing again. I know I'll see him again, I just have to move on, live and wait. :') To this band, thanks a lot for this song, it's so amazing.
Chris Harms proves once again what an outstanding singer and songwriter he is. The song cuts deep into the heart and moves to tears. "See You Soon" is not a song you can listen to on the side.
This song is has helped me process putting my dog of 16 years down this week. Ill make sure the last thing she sees is a smile. Beautiful words, great band.
Today, one year ago I said goodbye to my dog after a hard fight against cancer. My smile was the last thing he saw before leaving. I know for sure that being to his side until the last moment was the right thing, despite how so f#$% hard it was. I'm sorry for your loss.
How come this band are not up there with the likes of Zeppelin, Floyd, Maiden etc? How is it possible for a band to keep producing such brilliant music, but somehow stay under the radar? Thanks Chris and the band for the conveyor belt of class, one day LOTL will get the recognition they deserve.
3:12 "...even dark nights are ending in dawn..." that's just so damn beautiful. I remember listening to this song often enough during some rather difficult times around 2 years ago and I always remembered that part. In the end, the dark night truly ended in dawn.
Me too...they are all super good-looking, and super talented....they all go together perfectly.....I love the fact that they all end up at the ocean like that.....
Harms is a gifted composer, I love how his choruses are slow and thick and really fill up the sound space. I wonder if he also does the arrangements in addition to the actual composing, or if the entire band has a say in that regard.
I would think that sometimes the other band members might also have a say too....Their all very talented, so their opinions would certainly be welcome....
This is the only song I wanted to listen to the night my dog died. Thus, it will always have a special place in my heart. Listening to it for the first time in a few years now though just feels... weird... It's hard to explain.
I love this song, I'm so obsessed with it. It has so much emotion, and life in it. I love how this position of the band always comes together in their videos. Like they find each other no matter the emotion and life of the song
This almost made me cry. See you soon was the first song I've heard; I fell in love with Chris'voice and I love LOTL since that day. German bands always rock it!
I may be a very sentimental person, but this song brought tears to my eyes... Though it's definitely not just a "sad song", it's a beautiful ballad full of heart and feelings. I'd say, it makes you cry "joyful tears", and feel longing for something bright and happy ;‿;
So great to see how far they are now, fell in love with Lord of the Lost after I saw this video all the way in 2013.. LOTL most played artist of 2017-2018 on spotify . Empyrean is such an amazing album, and songs like Lament for the Condemned helped me so much when one of my best friends passed away suddenly and way too young last year.
Awesome guys. First song I heard from them that got me into them, then I supported them to come to the states and since then I have met them, seen them live and have fallen in love with this band even more. Amazing group of guys!
R.i.p. Mimi.
I'm listening to this while writing an obituary for my grandmother. It's really hard to type while singing along and crying. This is not farewell, this is only goodbye
Mine too.....for sure...lol...I already told my family if I die, please play this song....and to make sure there is a pile of their CD's on the buffet table at my funeral that has a "Free" sign there...lol...

The orchestral version (Gothic meets Klassik, full show, 2nd song) hits hard. The lyrics are pure poetry. What a talented band.

actually it's "You'll have time to cry when i'm gone" :)

and his voice just melts me ugggghhh
