Fantastic explanation of panoramic shooting. When I moved to digital photography a few years ago, I was a bit lost. I learned everything watching your videos and will always be grateful for that. I seldom watch your content now as you taught me enough for me to progress on my own but this pano video was superb in it's simplicity. Thank you Paul for all the help you given me to enhance my knowledge and understanding.
Honestly, you shoot some of the best cityscapes I've seen!
That is very kind, thank you 👏
Thank you Paul, very helpful. 🥸🥸🥸
My pleasure
Another advantage of using a smaller aperture, is you get those gorgeous sun stars off the lights in the scene!
Spot on!! Thanks for watching.
cheers Paul , another great video , always appreciate your hard work , best regards from NZ
Thank you so much, hope life is good in NZ - a beautiful country 😀
Great video Paul. I really enjoyed this one. It’s magic the way PhotoShop/LR handle photo merges.
Absolutely, and seamless! Thanks for watching and supporting my channel.
Paul, I really liked your video and especially the photo. When I was in the USNavy in the late 60’s we stopped in Brisbane; I met some wonderful people and have fond memories. Wonderful, processing flow, IMO a little over processed. But, I’m no professional photographer. 😊
Thanks Jim, appreciate the feedback.
Great shots Paul
Thank you so much.
Fantastic images here! I love your conservative approach to handling tonal adjustments - highlight and shadow control combined with exposure. Beautiful color too. I'd like to see some perspective control to straighten out the buildings, but wonderful images nonetheless. Thanks for posting.
Hi Paul, I did pick-up some cool tips from your editing. I do enjoy shooting long exposures at night and I learnt a tip, when editing I don't use the White Slider on night shots, but I do use it in daylight. Thanks Paul I will definitely use the White Slider on my next night shoot. Also thanks for mentioning the D Noise Slider as well, that will come in handy. This video was very useful for my photography. Cheers thanks 😊
Happy to help, thank you for the continued support and great feedback.
Thanks Paul ☺️
Your very welcome Paul 😊
Thank's for sharing your knowledge with us great video ❤
So nice of you David, thank you for the great feedback and support.
Great image
Thank you so much.
Both images are amazing. You're correct in that I tend to increase my ISO with night photography because I do a lot of sports photography. But I will need to remember to slow the shutter speed in the future.
Yep, next time you are taking a break from sports photography, grab a tripod, lower the ISO and get out and have some fun with long exposure photography. Thanks for the support.
thanks Paul - Sorry to be a little far from Brisbane!
😀
The image at Howard Smith Wall of the Story Bridge looks great; however, it shows a considerable amount of converging verticals. In particular the buildings on the left look as if they’re falling over and the reflections of the bridge in the Brisbane River look wrong.
I’d always use the Transform tool in Lightroom to correct this. It’s very simple and quick to use and I think it would greatly improve the image.
Hi Peter,
You are absolutely correct, the sunset shot was taken with a wide angle lens and the distortion and leaning buildings are clear to see... the pano however does not - I did briefly mention this towards the end of they video, but I could probably have gone into more detail.
Thanks for the feedback Peter, best wishes to you.
@@photogenius Hi, Thanks for your reply. Yes you did and gave that as a reason for using a stitched panorama. My point is that Lightroom has the tools to correct for the converging verticals caused by using a wide angle lens without having the camera level. That correction is both quick and easy to do. It would have been instructive to hear your views on the pros and cons of applying geometric corrections to a single raw file versus stitching several into a panorama.
Another good video and tips Paul
Thank you kindly Lyn
I lived under the Story Bridge back in March of 69, at the immigration hostel. Great image, thanks Paul!
I bet the views from the bridge are very different now to how they were back in 69.. thanks for the support 👏
Hi Paul, another interesting and enjoyable tutorial, thankyou.
Thank you Steve 😀
Subscribed. I'm glad I found your video, will definitely check back often. Thank you!
Thanks for the sub, It's great to have you on board 👏
Beautiful. Post is still a little overwhelming to me. I'm using darktable as it's free open source. Any darktable RAW developing for beginners would be cool. Don't know if you're an ADOBE cult member or not. 😂
I've been using Adobe products for around 25 years, not sure if I would call myself a cult member, but I do like the software and it gets the job done.
I'm not a user of Darktable I'm afraid. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment, very much appreciated.
Good morning.
G'day 😀
Hi paul please we need to make tutorial how to use sekonic L-308X-U Flashmate light meter
I will consider this, thanks for the suggestion.
